What a rad bike! It’s durable, it’s damped, it’s confidence inspiring! I love it! Also added some comments on the component choices and changes over the last year. Thanks @oneupcomponents_official for the blue pedals :)

RAAW Madonna V2.2 frame first look!
Просмотров 1,8 тыс.Год назад
I decided a bump I travel was needed for some of the trails I ride. This will give me more margin for error and safety. I was definitely sad to say goodbye to the RAAW Jibb, but stoked to get this frame built up and ride it before the the trails descend into winter mode. Let me know what you think and please ask any and all questions! Happy trails!

It’s so versatile, and whilst being a master at nothing, it can do literally everything. Here it is in shredpacking guise and it’s a comfortable bike to pedal all day. RAAW Jibb complete build and component choice
Просмотров 4,2 тыс.3 года назад
Just picked up my XL RAAW Jibb after a custom build. I sourced the parts locally as much as possible and built up what I think is a durable build which leans towards descending ability rather than climbing. It's never going to be an XC whippet (and not designed to be!) so it's been assembled with burly components for a 90-95kg rider.

    Thanks for the rundown. I am curious about the frame stiffness and therefore the harshness. Do you ever find it to be too stiff? I am used to carbon bikes which do mute a lot of the chatter. I am totally sold on this frame's geometry as my next bike and hoping it won't be too harsh of a ride.

    Just bought this frame and fork exactly. Wasn’t planning on it, but it was too good a deal to pass on. How versatile is the bike for normal trails and your bikepacking? Seems an aggressive bike for that, but I also plan to use it for some kid trailer duty as well as chunky trail sessions.

    Those are some very good tips. I ordered mine as a 47 when my regular footwear is 46 I wanted the extra room just so the insulation wouldn't get compressed and I could wear heavier socks ...for example, in northern Saskatchewan where I ride my fat bike almost daily I wear smart wool Mountaineer socks, which are quite thick and insulation is useless if it's compressed down to paper thin

I have a DH and an enduro for the moment but I almost don t use the dh because the enduro does it all maybe even better with the big reach and wheels. So i m thinking to go with a jibb + dh combo or madonna (with a shorter reach than my current enduro) + dh combo or just a madonna dream build. What do you think? I m more a gravity guy but I ride a lot of chill trails and my current enduro feels a a bit too long for melow trails…

    • @richcollumbine
      @richcollumbine 5 лет назад

      Al Beklik thanks Al. Yep, I've had my fair share of tents and all generally suffer from a build up of moisture due to humidity and temperature differential across the membrane. I was just a little surprised as it was a revised model with larger vents all around the base. This coupled with the thin breathable membrane I hoped would minimise this issue but it was quite surprising how much moisture there was. If I'm car camping with the tent then I bring a towel to wipe the inside down prior to packing it up!

    • @albeklik8055
      @albeklik8055 5 лет назад

      I don't know how to explain this to you all the moisture comes from the ground up so the tent accumulates the moisture and plus the moisture in the air adds 2 the formula

      Dallas Brose thanks for the comment. Yeah I used the tent extensively over the summer and a little during the fall of 2018 and it's held up valiently. I have had it in hot, dry weather to some pretty full.on storms and not had any issue with it. Durability wise it looks brand new and haven't had any leaking. The only issue I had was the elastic going slack in one of the tent poles. I contacted Hilleberg and they sent me quite a few metres of replacement elasticated rope to use. Fantastic service!!
