Thank you ever so much! I didn’t know about the power button. This type of cleaning is so much better than doing nothing at all. Some people are better than I am and can’t take the machine apart. I’m perfectly fine with doing this as starters. You gave a thorough explanation of how to clean and hopefully maintain my ice maker longer. 🏆

Mine doesn't have a "clean" function. Can I just run it with vinegar or lemon juice dilution after wiping it down and scrubbing with the toothbrush like you did?

I absolutely cannot figure out how to get the white cap off at the bottom the reservoir..

H have red mold all inside my ice trey. I have tried q-tips and rags to clean it. I just can't reach inside to clean the trey. The poles that the ice cubes freeze on are in the way. I know I can't take it apart to clean it. I have ran cleaning solution in my ice maker that is suppose to keep the mold from being unhealthy to drink from. I don't know how else to clean the trey inside. I am open to any suggestions.

How do you clean the line between the filter and the ice maker though? If there’s mold around the edge of the white reservoir filter cap there’s definitely dirty tubing that isn’t visible. Anyone that’s cleaned keg lines knows this.

Why does it not say anything about ''cleaning mode'' in the manual? Makes a lot of sense SMH

I bought the EFIC123-SS at SAM'S CLUB after seeing it for almost $10 more at a Super Walmart Store. We're in an apartment since we took a direct hit from a tornado in December of last year and had been buying a couple of bags of ice every few days. Now, within a few minutes after turning the device on we have ice being made. We only use bottled Spring Water (the only water we drink and cook with) and have had nothing but great results. At the first sign of something very small floating in the tank (probably from a water bottle that wasn't completely cleaned), we shut it down and I'm cleaning it now. It's paid for itself many times over and we're totally satisfied and recommend it for anyone looking to save money on ice. Before you run out to by one, shop around for the best price...

On the clean cycle does it clean under/behind the little bucket inside that hold the water while it makes ice????? Had this bright idea to stick a Mr clean eraser under that lil water bucket and wa disgusted with how black it was.

Great video, But have you looked back up inside where the water tray is. That gets really nasty. How do we get back behind the freezing bars to clean that tray?

Note even if your power button does not say clean and small letters. If it looks like this model, you can still push and hold it in the S and L lights will flash back and forth and it will be in a cleaning mode.

My on off button doesn’t have the word CLEAN- but it worked just the same.

Thank you. The manual that came with my unit, did not mention any instructions for cleaning whatsoever. It came with a manual, but no cleaning instructions.

I never noticed the clean option before! Cleaning now. How many cycles does it take after to get rid of the vinegar smell or taste if there is one.

Any advice if there’s not a “clean” feature? Mine must be a different model
