I replaced the battery and I got rid of the battery error message. Thank you! Now I am dealing with the diskette drive error, the problem is my computer will not stay on long enough to select the different options. The fan goes really loud really fast then just automatically shuts the system off. Any ideas?

Did you only press delete after replacing the battery or another key as well? Pls can you clarify, thanks

Is this down to using the machine for playing too long on games?? Or not just leaving the machine on for a while and not using it???

This has happened yet again with me just today as soon as TURN ON..had to press F1 to bypass it. Only a short time ago I needed an expert to do this and it wasnt easy as we needed to go back over start up a few times just to make sure the START UP ORDER of things was correct.

I came to this video a couple of days ago thinking my PC was screwed. I didn't want to take my computer apart so I continued to try and start it up normally. (Pressing F1 to continue) The first few times it took me straight back to the beginning again. However, the 4th or 5th try it worked and my PC has ran normally for 2 days now. Probably bad advice and the sensible thing to do is change the battery... but this might work for somebody else.

Dell desktops don't require tools to open the access panel. Pull the black lock tab on the upper rear side and the panel pops open. Always have at least one 2032 battery around for electronic equipment!
