I find this accurate because I always heard that dragons never stop growing in there life time until there eventually killed and since night furys were always hunted until extinction besides Toothless of course not that many individuals managed to make it to that stage and sense Toothless now lives in the safety of the hidden world with his family where no human can nor will find it so maybe Toothless might be a able to make it to that stage in life maybe even more

so hiccup befriending "toothless" was definitely a smart move

How interesting, the sexual dimorphism is quite strange but possible. Because we never saw a female nightfury but yet again we could also make the guess to say it would be something similar to the close relatives the Lightfurys. I am always happy to see such beautiful art of my favorite franchise which allows for a more dynamic and unique way to fill in gaps of knowledge we don’t know.
