Erlang Shen is actually Sun Wukong's good friend; he guards the last relic for Wukong. Moreover, his subordinates-the Meishan Six Yaoguai-have been helping us throughout the entire storyline. They include the white-robed scholar who helps you obtain the fireproof mantle, the wild boar in yellow who helps you get the wind tamer , the bamboo hat wearer who leads you to the true Maitreya Buddha, the centipede man who guides you to find the Embroidered Needle, and the bull demon who leads you to the final passage to Meishan. Among the Meishan Six Yaoguai, the Arms-Extending Monkey, one of the six, has not yet appeared, and its whereabouts are currently unknown.

This def knocks it down a few hype notches for me. If there is literally no weapon choice in this game like Witcher, I'll be pretty disappointed. It worries me that they don't pick up any of the "loot" in the game. Board and swords might get a bit stale if this is a giant game. From what I can tell it's Red Dead 2 with better combat, but it could end up just being a bad Witcher knock off. I was definitely hoping for more of an RPG. The action game title to me means the open world will be mostly empty, so I'm way more worried after this video.

At 6:48 When he use Tactical Retreat - Forceful Thrust and hit the dragon. How does he do the Whirling Thrusts right after that ? Cant get that to work, As i am trying out Thrust Stance for the time. Thanks kindly.

Erlang should be fought by second cycle after you acquire all equipment of Wukong in chapter 6 and the 禁 spell from the Budha of Chapter 3, otherwise it'll be very hard

Yao means spirit/goblin(it can be animal or plants), Guai means monster. So Yaoguai is a general term refers to both creatures.

Great skill! This boss kicked my ass for more than 30 times I think. I tried the same way as you did but failed so many times.. Finaly I found a easy way to beat him, shadow clones, and full energy heavy stick hit and run. The dragon seems not that aggresive, so just hold your heavy attack and run for the hit, hope this help those who stuck here.

I believe the three bosses from recently uploaded videos are from gamescom gameplay experience. Those who got to play were able to choose to fight a number of different bosses (more than 3) and these 3 are among those bosses. Also according to the explanation from one of the Pearl Abyss staff at the booth, there will be a proper lock-on system, but it is not present at the current build, so there is only a soft lock-on system for now. The game also appears to be very combo-heavy. The 'green leaf' sort of work as mana gauge for various skills that require it. Players fill it up by performing various actions (including getting hit). Stamina seems to drain fairly quickly (and you can't block an attack when you run out of stamina), but using skills instantly refills some stamina, so I guess it is balanced around the premise of using skills very often. There are several instances of the protagonist using exploding arrows which seems fairly powerful.

From my experience the combat system is all about how to accumulate focus efficiently and find opening for explosive damage. I used dive kick and heavy attack a lot when start the game, but later I found that without consuming focus, the damage it does is not worth the stamina cost.

I heard that leaf symbol is like mana. It can also be used to restore stamina.

The portals might just be convenient fast travel, if you can't fast travel from anywhere like Dragon's Dogma. Like you have to make your way to the quests and the bosses but once they are over they give you a way to fast travel instead having to ride to the nearest fast travel point. Just a guess...

Most of the Buddha statues and scenes you see in the game can be found in China, as many of the game's materials are based on real scenes.

It uses a soft lock system that will mostly draw your attacks to the target but no hard lock which is nice cuz it allows you to attack different directions.

The lack of diversity in the NPCs is concerning. I don't like all white people games. Other than that this game looks next level.

I like that not every boss is going to be three phases with cut scenes. It's nice to have variety. Some gimmick bosses are fun as long as there aren't too many.
