What You NEED to Know Before Deciding to Become a Nurse| NurseDams
this was so help full im ten and thankfully I did not cut my hair!
Love this hairrrr girl. Was just wondering what were the total amount of braids you had in your hair after parting it out?
How would you go about maintaining this hairstyle, and how long did it last for you? I sleep rough and i don't want it to get ugly on me within the first month yknow 😭😭😭
@@hay-lin4986 honestly this was a 4-6 week hairstyle for me. I probably could’ve kept it longer, but I was taking swimming lessons during the time and needed to take my hair out in order to wash it properly. But to answer your question, I slept with a silk scarf and then a bonnet to keep my roots neat bit and minimize frizzing from my ends
I love your personality, especially you saying your own words! "Impossacant" 😭😂
@@nyreedamis8699 aweee thank youuuu🥰 the way life is for the living, we call just have to be ourselves 💛
❤
Mines are so thick. Any recommendations for fixing without having to remove them
@@jlewis9738 That happens when you use a lot of the Marley hair that’s why I made sure to only use one strand per section. But mine did flatten as time went on the more I slept on it, tied it back & braided it. Try that and see how it helps !
i have a chronic health issues so i neeeeed full time for benefits

This video was gold! Could you please explain the steps to getting a green card via this pathway.
I love the style it looks so natural. I also like that you have it a nice length.
Thank youuu!! & yeah girl I didn’t want it it to be too short. The amount of elastics and beads really helped elongate it 💛
Amei o vídeo ❤️ e muito obrigada pela tradução em português 🥺❤️
You just made my life easier. I'm trying this right now❤
Great job! I have to give this hairstyle a try! How long does this last you?
@@mercedeslong4178 honestly this was a 4-6 week hairstyle for me. I probably could’ve kept it till 8weeks , but I was taking swimming lessons during the time and needed to take my hair out in order to wash it properly.
Hi which school did you go to? I got accepted into Seneca for Part Time Nursing but im also tryna bridge to BSCN so it will take super long correct? thanks
Wow girl 🥺 I know this is late to the game, but hope you're doing okay wherever you are in the nursing world now 🫂 As a nightshifter, it's not too uncommon for me to get patients (completely oriented at times!) saying things like "goodnight!" or "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to wake you up." And I'm like "no, definitely not allowed to sleep 'til I get off this morning 😅" And working through your 30 minute lunch/eating at the desk + continuing to work is definitely unfortunately very much ingrained into the culture of many floors; it depends on where you work (floor, hospital, + state,) but it is 100% common for uninterrupted breaks to be seen as unnecessary/unrelastic luxuries 💔
Which is honestly so sad 😭 because I mean were people too and some night can be so hard! But go overall I’m good girl I went on to do another night shift contract in new york and it as the same but now I expected it. Currently I just take day shift assignments but I do hope to see how night shifts differ in states like California or Washington.
@@allthingsdami I hope you can get out West! I was in Washington state in winter 2021 for an assignment, and they were very good about ensuring uninterrupted lunch breaks. Things happen in our profession, and we will always have crazy times (and even complete shifts,) but I hope some day our capacity for strength/putting others before us when needed stops being used to expect us to constantly do inhuman things like stay 100% "on" for 12+ hours, 3 to 4 days/nights a week with no designated break to be expected, ever. Thank you for this video and your honesty, I think it's so important we keep pushing to see nurses and other healthcare providers as regular humans too vs these superhuman heros/machines (as cool as that is, it oftentimes leads to some crazy expectations.)
Thanks
Thank you so much for watching !!!
Girllll you moved your hands so much I thought you were about to sign😭😭
I was sooo passionate 😂😂😂
After watching your videos I made this hair style for my daughter and she love it ❤❤❤
YAYYYYYY🎉 Im so happy to hear!! its honestly so cute I want to do it again in a different color
You paid for your Uber driver to join you on the zip line ?? And how costly was the Uber ?
No no 😂 that’s my friend who lives there we went out for the day !
Love your vibes & personality
That’s so sweet ! Thank you soo much 😭💛💛
Lashes are so cute
Thank youu! I got it from my local beauty supply store
Enjoyed watching your video! Thank you for posting how you did the beads.
Thank you soo much ❤️❤️ I had to share the beads because I too needed to learn how to could use it 😅 so I said the girlies may want to know too
Girl SAME!! I left my staff NICU job in February to go travel in Denver @ CHCO, got cancelled b4 my start date. It took me TWO MONTHS to find a job. Now I’m PRN in a local NICU and the rate is honestly double what I was making as a staff nurse. You can’t even duplicated your expenses with these rates
WOOOW ! It’s taken me THREEE months to find a job and it’s crazy ! I had to make the video people things like this care happening to people everyday and we eventually up losing more money then we would have been made
I love this video hahaha i just signed my self up for rn in school is that a good route? Or should I go radiology
It really just depends on what you like & can see yourself doing ! Both good options radiology is just a bit more specific whereas nursing is really broad. It might be helpful to look at future jobs you’d want to be in. Compare pay and job description and pick the program that can get you there
I dont disagree with most of these but as for the #5 the staff nurses may be getting double pay and etc but they are still taxed heavily and dont see the amount of money we see without having to work extra shifts which is the huge benefit, we have the more money for less pay allowing for more time to invest in different investments instead of being at work, yes we gotta still pay taxes but with smart expenses and etc it can come back
That’s very, very true being tax on your whole paycheque makes a lot of a difference! which I think is exactly why they’re making the push for more nurses to become staff so that they actually don’t have to give out stipends
Yea alot of places are doing locum nursing nova scotia, alberta. Alberta locum is a difficult process though
Can you explain to me what locum is?
@@allthingsdami same as travel nursing without the agency as middle man. The health organizations are doing it themselves or being the middleman. Its temporary assignments, work in different environments, and fill staffing shortages. But more oversight and a longer process, i am not sure if its more effective. Because they have not hired a whole lots of people to manage the locums so you will have one person trying to vet 200 people
Now they like if you want to come come, offering peanuts
Double time is gone ?? Oh man 🤦🏾♀️ send helpppppp
Rest? 😂 yeah new grad nurse here - I realized the life of an RN involves dehydration, hunger, exhaustion, and the occasional UTI due to not voiding for 12+ hours…..definitely why a lot of nurses leave bedside. It’s rough
Girl we’re in the trench foreal ! It really doesn’t have to be like that 😭😭 I was defo delulu for thinking I would get any rest 😅
The bloopers😂😂. Thanks for sharing
Of course 😂 you know I love me an end credit blooper !! Just a little reminder what goes on behind-the-scenes
Yeah for the nurses in Canada there are jobs especially in remote areas like Northern Ontario, Northern bc ...
I’m seeing so many jobs up north or in New Brunswick. Lifestyle is very different but at least it’s an option that’s out there if you’re just looking to make money.
Yeah I’ve nursed in city Vancouver bc. And also rural up north British Columbia. Up north they’re always in demand and the money is there. You just have to be okay with going to a place that is not that exciting if you’re used to city life. Nice nature and that type of thing but not much in terms of restaurants and entertainment
Honestly, it's so horrible now, and I'm upset that I entered this thing late in the game. Even in Canada, it's become super hard now. Got my Texas license, and now I regret it because the rates are poubelle and was recommended just as you said in Washington. Now alberta is really getting rid of agency and TN and is now focusing on locum contracts. So make sure you get into locum in alberta because the list is lonngggg. TN in Canada would be more beneficial because of the perks. Paid accommodation and paid flights are a big thing. But I really really really want to experience that American lifestyle for real, but financially, it will not make sense to me at the moment. I was able to get a casual and drop to a PT2 position at home just as a backup while I waited to get these contracts just in case. At the end of the day, I'd still be getting paid more as staff, and for me, the big thing is flexibility.
Literally disgusting I couldn’t believe my eyes that’s why I had to make this video😭 I had no idea Alberta was getting rid of agency so thank you so much. I’m going to look into locum. I started with travel nursing in America for lifestyle but at this point if you’re just looking to make money, go up north and make a quick bag because with the low rates in America right now it’s not even making sense. What lifestyle can I have with these 1K contracts?
@allthingsdami sis!!! I'm just shooketh. Now I feel like I've spent all this money on CFGNS and don't know what to do with it... I've considered up north, but I'm scared. I don't think my mental health can handle it unless I go with someone I know. We go through it together loool. Nova Scotia has this thing where you can only do a contract for 180 days and then wait a year to take another contract...something along those lines.. Nahhh Dami we will make it in this life sis !! Side note, Thank you for your videos! My journey all started because of you! I truly appreciate the time, transparency, and fun content !! Bless you
so when will it be a good time to get into travel nursing
So if you’re looking to get in, you’re gonna need a lot of patience’s and be open to really going anywhere. I would advise for you to keep watching the market so you know which states get the most jobs and you can focus your attention there when you’re looking to get licensed or connect with the agencies. It’s not impossible by any means but we’re looking at the long game now.
@@allthingsdami ok thank you! My dream is to get out of Canada and live in the States as a nurse because I believe it's important to change your environment, you know try something new
@@jazvirgosimmon8851 and that’s not impossible or off the table. It’s just looking a little bit different now.
Thank you for adding chapter to this video! This helps so much 🙌🏽
Thanks for noticing! I’m going to start doing this in very video makes it a lot easier to navigate
Amazing video ! Very informative 👍🏾👏🏼
So glad you found it helpful! Happy nurses week 🫶🏾✨
Do you agree ? Did you found my recommendations helpful?
I agree. I also think for those in Canada, you can look for local positions within where you live if you live, but be ready to receive the worst assignments in you live in a big city. I find nurses in remote areas more cooperative even if they know you are a travel nurse . they try to share assignments with little or no discrimination.
@@nursebondemcanada Great advice!!! I definitely try to keep that in mind when working within the GTA !
Thank you for the information ATD ! Gonna send this to all my nursing friends 🙌🏽
YASSS please do! & thank you so muchh💛💛
so seamless ❤
