I liked the movie but why is no one mentioning the enormous plot holes? the only piece of evidence is the eyewitness, and the defense doesn't take him apart? I couldn't identify my brother on a dark rainy night surrounded by trees. 6 jurors found reasonable doubt and then suddenly all switch to guilty with no explanation? I could name 10 more problems like that.

I don't know what the gender makeup of the audience you saw this with, but in my screening (on Christmas!) many if not all of the women around me had vocal reactions to several moments. For me the film was an unapologetic examination of female desire and how the idea of what we're "supposed to" want and not want leads to disaster in our relationships. If nothing else, it deserves credit for showing a menopausal woman having ugly, gutteral-sounding orgasms. Hopefully not all men watching this will come away feeling sad and dirty.

Can’t be a masterpiece. Most important characters weren’t developed very well. The vicious/ruthless/evil creature Orlok intentionally chose to kill itself for some non-virgin tainted blood?? Nah. Eggers completely missed on this part, unfortunately. He did NOT sell/convince us why such a ferocious monster would just kill itself for another meal. This video/review glosses over that misstep like it’s minor, but it’s the most important part of the entire story.

Even though the movie is a remake of Nosferatu - it doesn't feel like a remake and thats a great thing, it loosely follows the story but is its own thing. And i think thats not a easy thing to do without getting too far off.

@@willscorner8423 I agree! That’s one of the things that I appreciated the most actually. It would have been easy to make it just a remake, but it was so much more. Thank you for watching!

There's no previus romance or love history between Dracula and Mina in the original Bram Stoker book. It's funny that Copola tittled his movie Bram Stoker's Dracula!!!

Really?! I didn't know that. I guess I should read the book. I kind of want to do some research on why it was written into the movie! Thanks for your comment!

The past connection between Dracula and Mina was invented by Richard Matheson for the 1974 TV movie adaptation staring Jack Palance. Other adapters have used variations but it’s nothing to do with Stokers novel or the Original Nosferatu

Eastern European men had mustaches back then and Dracula had one in the book.

I wanted to like this film more than any other this decade so far. Unfortunately, every scene made me painfully aware that I was watching a film. None of it really grabbed me and I struggle to believe most of the actors bought into the material themselves. I'm also so done with sexual abuse being used as character motivation and female characters being deified through victimization. The popcorn bucket (that now sits on my coffee table repurposed as an organizer) is unfortunately the best thing about this film. Kinda ironic: The most ungimmicky filmmaker alive today's biggest film to date (already a phrase that should send a shiver down the spine of every film fanatic) really only justifies its own existence by its gimmick.
