I use a stinger needle. It is similar to a baiting needle, but longer and with gated hook. It allows you to put the needle though the center of the pva stick, to then pull the hook link though the stick, so that things are left presented well and also more streamlined when casting. I have a video on how i personally do this that may help you.

There is no question, it’s a ton of work. But just as many ask… why do it? my reply every single time “it’s part of the journey”. Sharing these sessions is for that exact reason.
