The most mysterious plane of WW2
Real or WW2 legend? During World War II, the only Axis nation to field a jet fighter was Germany. However, this common thought may be false because during the last week of the conflict in the Pacific, B-29 squadrons claimed to have seen "fireballs" while others claimed to have seen a ''Baka'' bomb also called Ohka. However, during the occupation, reports indicate the discovery of an aircraft very similar to the Ohka, but which is in reality an interceptor derived from it. Little information exists on this aircraft, which makes it one of the most mysterious of the Second World War, if not the most mysterious. It would then quite simply be Japan's first jet fighter, provided that it was rea...

The lost WW2 jet bomber projects
Просмотров 9468 месяцев назад
In the last stages of WW2, the Germans tried to develop numerous ''Miracle Weapons'' in order to turn the tide of the conflict in their favor. These included the Me 262 jet fighter and the Arado Ar 234 Blitz. However, this is only the emerged part of the Iceberg since much more of these ''Wunderwaffen'' did not even passed the stage of the drawing board. One of these was the big brother of the ...
The forgotten Italian bomber

The Italian Air force of World War 2, the Regia Aeronautica was far frow being as powerful as its German equivalent, but mostly because its lack of industry allowing to produce enough planes. Indeed, it had pretty good planes. And we can easily say that its main bomber, The Piaggio P.108 was even better than most of German bombers because it was the only four-engine bomber of the Axis. But toda...
V1 plane

During last stages of WW2, Germany tried to remedy its critical situation thanks to the Wunderwaffen, among those developed was the V1 flying bomb. At the same time, Allied bombing continued to intensify and German resources were critically exhausted. It is in this logic that she initiated the Emergency Fighter Program (German: Jägernotprogramm). The Junkers engineers then embarked on the desig...
The forgotten Czechoslovakian fighter-bomber

During the Second World War, these aircraft from countries such as Germany, USA, Great Britain, USSR and Japan fought the most decisive battles in the skies. But other nations that have been much less heard about have also produced their own planes. For example, Czechoslovakia, if it was known that it designed and produced tanks which were then seized by the Wehrmacht, what about its planes. Th...
The Insane Me 262 variant

The Me 262, one of the most famous fighter of World War II. Known to be the very first jet fighter in history, this plane marked the beginning of a new era in aeronautics. But this plane or should I say this plane family was much more than what we imagine. Indeed, several variants and developments were proposed passing by night fighters to even bombers. The number of its variants of this is sim...
The Soviet failed WW2 jet fighter

During the second World war, the Soviet Air Force played a key role to ensure control of the skies and to provide a crucial support. Many of its aircraft have made it proud such as the Il-2, La-5 or Yak-3. However, it was unable to operate any jet aircraft during the conflict. However, significant research in the areas of rocket engines and ramjets has been carried out. And better yet, these tw...
Arado Ar 234 lost variants

During WW2, the German scientists laid the foundations of many Cold War era technologies with several of their revolutionary inventions. One of these was the Arado Ar 234 Blitz which is famous for being the first jet bomber but also the first jet reconnaissance plane and even the first four-jet engine to ever fly! But to this already impressive list is also another version of this Wunderwaffe w...

During the Second World War, many bombing campaigns were led, the most famous being the Battle of Britain which opposed the Royal Air Force's Spitfires and Hurricanes to the Luftwaffe's Messerschmitt fighter planes and Heinkel bombers above the English Channel. Thank god they didn’t call it the Jimmy Durante 😂 Ha cha cha cha cha😂
New subscriber! Keep going on the deep dives into WW2 jet experiments, German and others please??🤞🏻
I dont mind your accent. The concern is that the music is too loud, compared to your voice. I can not hear you well.
There was a NOTAM about a massive hornet nest at the end of the runway. Unfortunately, the flight crew of a Boeing Phalcon prototype, under time pressure, decided to proceed nonetheless… The aftermath was never fixed and made it into full production.
AIRSPEED: Well gentlemen, what do you think? AIR MARSHALS DOWDING, HARRIS & PARK: We"re all agreed, aren't we? (Clear throats) HELP! POLICE! ESCAPED LOONEYS! AIRSPEED: Oh well, back to the drawing board.....
That as a nightfighter ? Worser idea than making a Dornier 217 a nightfighter
Now here is a video that needs AI narration.
I think its beautiful
I do understand why you are using an AI voice, but it's really not a very good choice compared to a real human voice. I volunteer to read your copy if you are interested. Peace❤
If I look at the Engine Cross Section was this the 1st Low By-Pass Turbofan? Add to that, Counter Rotating Compressor/Turbine Assemblies which are known to increase efficiency. Wow....
I also want to remember the Campini CS.10 project
None of the photos show a jet w air intakes like some of the artwork showed. They all show rocket planes derived from the Ohka. This makes one wonder; if they were willing to crash a Ohka into a ship; why they wouldn't do so against a B29?. The B29 had far fewer defensive weapons; and the small target size and speed would make it very difficult to intercept or shoot down with limited machine gun fire. The Ohka could fly up to 400 mph fast enough to intercept a B29 and fast enough for escort fighters to have difficulty trying to prevent a suicide collision. Doing this; the US air raids may have needed to be be suspended incuding the Abomb.
Wasnt one of the best.
Hadn't idea this fighter ever existed! Superb video!
I can see one major problem with that engine placement, given the total lack of rare earth metal alloys German suffered from how did they think to protect the rear wing surfaces from the heat of the jet exhaust?
Your channel is superb I look forward to every episode.
620 MPH at which time compressibility issues sprang up with the 262. In a steep dive, elevator function was compromised and a crash virtually unavoidable.
Could they find a German who can speak understandable English? I give up!
3:00 did i hear right 12000 to 19000 Horsepower?!?
You should just use your own voice for narration. Who cares if some people don't like accents? Your voice is REAL. Authentic. HUMAN. Let us be done with AI now before we forget the difference between real and false
Place of 2 x 30mm cannons almost certainly would have cause engine stalling problems due to cannon exhaust gasses. Numerous early gen. jet aircraft, suffered cannon exhaust / engine stalling problems..
Just ran across your channel and subbed. Lots of cool stuff!
The four inch rockets were the equivalent of a 5 inch naval shell ,which could flip a tiger 1 panzer 5 , that's a lot of fire power with all those cannons.
Yes, a real nightmare for the panzerdivisions.
Wish xp-55
LOL

IT was called sigma
well I want one now
Egg.
xD True
Xp55 superior
I Agree
@@F-14DTomcat quite fun to play as well
I always thought this was a Supermarine design, Thanks for the correction. Although, didn't Supermarine design something similar? Maybe with less engines? Here is a like and a subscribe. I'm a fan of aviation and I appreciate your work.
Thanks a lot and welcome on the channel :)
Indeed, Supermarine had a project of a heavy bomber, it was the Supermarine type 317.
Fascinating aircraft, fascinating accent, great video, great profile pic😺✈️ ❤.
Thanks!😀

Wunderwaffen is plural. It's Wunderwaffe in the singular. Well made videos are correct, even in small details.
Yes sorry for this, it is one of the first video I made...
@@F-14DTomcat I´m actually a little sorry also. Rudeness and overcritcism is not commendable.
@@LúðvíkKaaberDon't be sorry, you are doing the correct thing by saying the truth so I can improve this channel.
You keep calling it a jet which if it is rocket powered it is not. It would be a rocket plane like the German 163 Komet.
The Ohka is a rocket plane but, we do not have much informations on this one but it was only supposed that its engine was a KR-10. Plus, if you look on the thumbnail, it has an air entry which leads us to suppose that it was a jet engine.
Germany provided the blueprints The Japanese made it work
I couldn't find evidence of this anywhere, could you provide your source? Or are you confusing this with the Kikka (Me-262 derivative)? Which actually Japan never received the blueprints for, but literally eyed it from photos and made a working prototype...quite the feat for the time. Or the shusui which is similar to the ohka, and was indeed derived from the German Me-163
20 mm cannons nit machine guns.
Automatic canons are just heavy machine guns.
It is NOT a jet. It is a rocketplane.
It is the Ohka which is a rocket plane. Plus, the engine used in this plane (if this plane is real) is not really known... (there is just a hypothesis that it was a Kr-10 but it is not sure)
I have always read that the Ohka (cherry blossom) was difficult to control. I wonder if this derivative (should it exist) would be similar. Fast and hard to fly does not sound good.
The fin has been modified so perhaps its stability will have been improved. But it is an interesting point regarding the veracity of the existence of this plane.
4000 to 5000 tons 😂😅😂 are you kidding 🤣😂🤣🤣
yeah a little too much for a single plane😅, I meant Kg
Narration hard to hear over music .
Yes right it is an old video, now it changed, but thanks for the advice :)
Sure no fear of thinking Big .
The notion of big is something else in USSR xD
What a Hoot ! Ram Jets on a biplane , Subscribed . Please turn music down some
Yeah when I saw this, it blew my mind (and concerning the sound, I got it)
I love the spotted camo in the thumbnail 😮
Me too! I randomly fell on this image and got the idea of using it as my thumbnail.
@@F-14DTomcat frequently I'm looking through my source book like Flying Colors or Squadron Signal and I see camo patterns on German tanks or planes that I wish they would make clothes with those patterns.
@@dr.kroenen2425 Hey that is an amazing idea, if one day you want to start a business, you should try these clothes!
one of the most stupid ideas I have ever seen from the Nazi's and that's really saying something!
Yeah, at least the Germans lost some time and ressources on stupid things like this what accelarated the end of the conflict.
Ally fighters had droppable fuel tanks long before the jet bomber
Yes I know, I meant that they had the idea to use this to increase the range.
Half the fuel in a drop tank is used just to overcome the drag of the drop tank itself... now take a much larger drop tank and add the induced drag of wings to it!
xD, and add to this the fact that fuel was getting very rare at this moment...
Range is from point a to b, not there and back.
Look like b 47.
Yeah right!
Amusing drawing - not a real aircraft though - just another 'wunderwaffe' for the wheraboos.
There were lots of wild concepts coming out of the design offices in Germany in the latter stages of WW2. Ones that made the work of Bloom and Boss seem sane.
It was NOT a fully developed nor successful aircraft, nor was it the predecessor of all of the aircraft listed.
Usain Bolt could run across that planes wings in about 8.1 seconds!
Oh, interesting to know, thanks :)
@@F-14DTomcat Well in his prime, its roughly that when he set the world record pace. lol
