2021 Harley Softail Fat Bob - 500 mile review
Did you lose ground clearance?
looks awesome
That’s the stage 1 ventilator kit. I got the same filter when I did the stage one on my 2022 road glide. Does this now come stock on some new 114 bikes?
@@StevenMayer6 yes
Thank you so much for doing this
I watched the whole video but didn't realize I have same bike until the end
The deluxe also has full wheel fenders. The slim has much smaller chopped wheel fenders.
the fatboy looks a mess , slim is the new fatboy ;;
Can you post a video on how to remove and replace the battery?
Man, whole lot more tech in there than my 20 year old sportster. Thanks for the run down. other than tires, I'm the only one that has taken a wrench to the bike.
awesome video, helped me a lot. thank you
@@lewiscole-l2g my pleasure. Be safe out there
It's maybe a bit extreme, but do you see any opportunity of rerouting the air intake to the front instead of the side?
New sub, liked, and bell rung. ‘19 FXFBS owner looking at some of your mods. Seriously considering buying a second one and going different directions with both. Mids and raise one, and forwards, t-bars, and slam the other. Great content.
Could you drill big holes in the airbox for more air too. ?
Wouldn't recommend it. That would be un filtered air
I removed and replaced the trans cover with an aluminum vented cover. Not a fan of plastic on super heated surfaces
Ciao. Cambiando il filtro aria. Hai avuto errori poi sul display? Io sì sul mio Nightster special 2023, sostituendo solo terminale scarico. Con S&S Gran national. Bel video!
Hello. No, I did not have any errors on the display. Thank you.
2 fat bobs and 1 fat rob. Haha jkjk
I love the green
I’m around 5’7” and I’m a bit leaned forward more than I like. What do you recommend handlebar wise that can help me keep my back more straight ? I have a 23 bobber 111. Also what parts do you offer that you personally like and would add ? Very interested !
hey bud where you get this bag from?
Directly from Viking Bags
did you end up changing the front brake line with a new bar setup? Is it as simple as what you said as to just get a straight banjo to go on the abs module and a fitting on the reservoir and a custom threaded line? Trying to figure it out on my fiances new 2023 and no dealer ive called seems to have a clue. 10mm x 1.00 banjo bolts seem to be what is on it but I havent actually taken them off to check yet.
Yes, I used a goodridge Universal line with a straight banjo coming off the ABS module
Where’s the damn diagnostic port!? I’m losing my mind!
I'm 6'3" and have a 22 RKS. The width of the bars drove me crazy and switched out to narrower Moto bars with 8" inch risers. She fits like a glove now.
Thank you for the review. I think your opinion in the end is correct. Should be a little cheaper over all. However I think if it was adjustable it would be maybe 2-3 times more money. I think it's a big ask. But cool idea!
I sense a trade-in coming...
Is the device married to the bike?
Yes, although you do not have to keep it on the bike when u ride.
Do you drain out all the gas in the tank?
No need
bruh ur facial hair is dope
I wish they could sound like the 600s sound so nice these sound like a four wheeler dirt bike
Amazing bike I love the xr concept hopefully we get to see a one year update on overall ownership of this bike don't know if you will see this but thank you for sharing with us the community definitely a top ten in my book just on the looks alone
I thought you’d actually teach me how to rebuild the carb lol.
Where did you get the handlebar shims
From Harley
the lack of ground clearance on both is criminal. Need more ground clearance for greater lean angle
Thanks for the tip on the adjuster! - I was wondering if that would pull out easy or not.
I want to know which one handles the twisties better, which one is more composed when you are scrapping the pegs. I have ridden sport bikes for over 20 years and know I have moved onto Harley’s. I find it near impossible to find a real world review where they discuss handling issues. Let’s face it, 32 degrees of lean angle is not much, it’s normal to expect that the average rider will use all of it up.
The Softail far out handles the Dyna from the factory. During the time that I owned my Softail Fat Bob I added an extension to the rear shock lifting the rear an inch. You can also slide the fork tubes down about a half inch elevating the front slightly. Those 2 mods plus a set of mid controls and ull have urself a fun bike to ride that performs well in the twisties.
@@aztriumphsterthanks for the info, I appreciate it. I was finding it hard to get real world info about handling, this is helpful. I am leaning towards the Dyna chassis Fatbob simply because of the lower cost. I had to replace the suspension on my other Harley’s, I just assume this one will need a set of aftermarket emulsion shocks like Ohlins or Legends (just the basic shocks with rebound adjustment does wonders), stiffer fork springs and thicker oil. I think this might do the trick.
I did a stage 2 on my 2021 RG and I left the stock air box because I like the look. I installed the Arlen Ness Big Sucker oval air filter that’s 1/4” wider than stock. It looks better than stock doesn’t break the bank and they estimate like 3% more HP. I don’t know I really don’t notice any difference power wise but When I twist the throttle I notice hearing the air pulling in a bit.
Looks and sounds great 👍. Did you have an install video of the suspension ?
I have a 2023 Nightster special I am trying to install the security siren. can you do a tutorial on that? Instructions it came with suck!! Thank you!
Beautiful
I have the 2024 Nightster Special and I can’t wait for you to show tutorials on replacing the pipes. This current 2-to-1 does not sound loud at all.
Easy process use a wood block when you take it off
Very nice
So man so many parts that could offer performance gains in some way. I just got my 2023 LRS. 300 miles and I feel like I should. It be worrying so much lol. How do you feel about this a couple of years later? What would you recommend to me?
What are the frame sliders you have on the shocks?
Did you ever find out what brand or where to get those frame sliders for the Nightster?
@@Nucklehead-mm9gfno I have not yet
@@amazingrudys5457 OK thank you.
@aztriumphster What are the frame sliders you have on the shocks?
I like the way the big sucker looks but it sounds like crap

Hows the KZ shaping up? Loved the series up to here 👏👏
Please do more content on this bike I recently got mine, the 23 S edition and want to upgrade it more but am clueless as it’s my first bike.
How's it going I just put kodlin extension on my 2018 fatbob chose that instead of bunking also I lowered my fork tubes which brings the front up because you need to do this when changing the Geometry did you ever end up doing it to yours I live in Arizona as well not far from arrowhead HARLEY
Hello. It's going well. Yes, I did end up raising the front. There's some HD demos out at Roadrunner Harley this weekend. I'll be there Saturday to take out a couple of the 2024s.
@aztriumphster OK hopefully I can make it out I'm taking it you still have your FATBOB
Maybe you can help me out. My 19 ultra bought brand new had harley map and tune for scream egale ventilator and some generic slip ons. I recently upgraded to a bagger brother true daul head pipes and bassani dnt mufflers. Is there a way to tune for my set up i have the tuner from when i purchased the bike from harley.
Hello, if it's a Screamin Eagle tuner, you should be able to follow the steps in the video and select a generic map that caters more to your current setup. However, I think your setup would still be considered a stage 1. So you could leave the current map and just use the smart tune feature to gather more riding data and apply it so the bike runs more efficiently.
Thank you
I have a 2014 FXSB. I traded a 2019 Fat Bob and I specifically wanted a twin cam over the M8. They sound great and run phenomenal. The M8’s might be more efficient, but it takes a lot to get them to sounding the right way for me. I can’t feel a difference in real world riding comparing the two, but I do agree that the 2014 feels hot. My 2002 TC doesn’t feel the same heat wise so maybe I just need a tune.
