Full 1986 Rush "Grace Under Pressure" TV Broadcast w Commercials

Rip of a VHS tape recorded in 1986 (guessing late fall or early winter). This was a television broadcast originating in the Tampa Bay area. I have left the TV commercials intact as they are entertaining in their own right, and kind of serve as a time capsule from the period. Mark Harmon is seen selling Coors, wine cooler commercials (which were so popular in the mid/late 80s) and a local Hyunda...

Defending sluttiness. So many have no self respect. It is wild.
I remember this commercial coming on in between the 1997 NBA Finals 😆 Great memories
6:32 “Hurry up turn the channel we’re gonna miss degradation to women hour!” 😂😂😂 Love Madonna but that was funny. I get what she meant tho. Haha
She actually said she was being sarcastic though
Madonna's unyielding defiance against societal expectations has long been a testament to her resilience in the face of relentless scrutiny and criticism. From the outset of her career, she boldly asserted control over her body and sexuality, a move that immediately made her a target for detractors. Despite predictions of her fleeting success as a mere "one-hit wonder" dating back to 1982, Madonna's unwavering determination and undeniable talent have only served to further incense her critics, who have lazily resorted to vilifying her as a convenient scapegoat. In this interview, the hypocrisy of such criticism was starkly exposed, particularly through the selective and judgmental line of questioning employed by outlets catering to conservative sensibilities, such as Nightline. By attempting to shame Madonna for not conforming to traditional roles of motherhood and wholesome behavior, these interrogators revealed their own biases and expectations, primarily dictated by patriarchal norms. What emerged from this exchange was not merely Madonna's quick-witted responses, but rather her steadfast refusal to apologize for who she is or compromise her artistic integrity and autonomy. Her unwavering stance against the attempts to belittle and constrain her serves as a powerful rebuke to the double standards and hypocrisy that continue to plague society. Furthermore, it's worth acknowledging the collaborative efforts of artists like Lenny Kravitz, whose songwriting contributions, though initially unrelated to Madonna, nonetheless resonated deeply with her ethos. Kravitz's recognition of Madonna's embodiment of the song's themes underscores the pervasive understanding of her cultural impact, transcending mere expectations and stereotypes. In essence, Madonna's resilience and refusal to be boxed into societal norms serve as a beacon of empowerment for all who dare to challenge the status quo, reminding us that true liberation lies in embracing one's authentic self, regardless of the backlash it may provoke.
I want one of these.
Is it bad that I remember each and every song in this commercial? 😂😅

This is a great video. I must say, it makes me laugh how some people on the comments talk like they know her personally.
Mama...
"What is too far on tv?" Me: "Violence!" Madonna: "....violence.".....
She plays piano with her tongue better than me with fingers.

Yeah, just more liberal ideology and politics is what it is. Nothing else. It's funny how she talks about America having to reform up its sex education and how she's so concerned about teen pregnancies and elevated STDs. So why does she then portray herself as some sexual nomad who goes around having unprotected intimacy with random strangers in her "Erotica" and "Justify My Love" videos and all that stuff she made and did. Too much Marx, Freud, Kinsey, and Muller myths and baloney here.
She pioneered women being their own pimps
As a kid this commercial really got things going in my imagination 😊
She had a valid response to everything he threw at her, and by the end -- you could tell he respected her. Great interview. She did a great job.
This is dark surrealism

There’s no way the driver was knocked out though…What was the story as to why he didn’t hit the brakes? His initial impact wasn’t that hard. No way that knocked him out.
What a trailblazer.
I had this on vhs. The thing I remember most is the synth-pop background music.
