What’s the link for the seat ? Thanks …
japan.webike.net/products/25971881.html?srsltid=AfmBOopZA-XE9ffWl8fPsYXa-Dm_tRfcG8FpFb8bxE8PnIm5aQfQGEyWCk0 eBay also has them for around $250.
Wow. Not cheap for you! £60 for the first service on mine in the UK at a Yamaha main dealer. Cost of parts/fluids only. Free labour.
I went to a dealership last week to look at a 2017 883. A bike that should book for about 6500$ retail , after all the other added BS they are trying to sell me that bike for twelve grand with their financing. Uh nope. So i told them id just save up a couple more grand and shoot them a cash offer in a few weeks if they still had the bike, boy they didnt like that AT all. Im like well i about have enough saved up to just pay cash so, why even mess with all that other financing bs, along with a 995$ assembly fee they are trying to tack on to a used bike lol.
Yeah, great idea to pay cash if you can. Assembly fee for a used bike is straight robbery. I hope you find the bike you want!
what tank bag is that?
BILT V3 Mini Tank Bag Item: P899182 SKU: 10049880
Hey, how tall are you? I'm about 5"5 (164cm) and I am thinking about getting lowering kit for it if I ever get one
5 foot 8.
H-D should be praising your name for staying calm and explaining your issue. So many people loose their minds on the service personnel. Probably why service can be sour at times.
Thanks. Uncle Sam taught me well.
You seem like a smart guy. It is wise to get them to go over your bike especially to check fastener torque. I hope they buff that scratch out as much as possible and i think they shoild give you a good discount on oil and filter across the parts counter
Cop that leaf blower off and it sounds louder than most other Harleys.
I hope you get more ride time
Thanks, brother.
mt09 looks like ktm now
Yeah, I agre.
Nice ❤
Just had flashbacks to watching the Jetsons.
beautifull bike, how are you liking that comfort seat? thinking of getting one myself ;)
I love it!
I’m satisfied
Did you notice a big difference in seat height, when comparing the comfort seat with the OEM seat?
Yes, but not much.
Harley believes they're own press. And the Bruthers are willing to pay for that name and abuse
So true.
I just swapped mine as well but I used the bracket to cover the bottom part
This is the type of video most should do when posting the sound of a new pipe. There's more than enough examples of how this pipe will sound through any number of throttle openings at various engine loads and RPM. Good Job!
Thank you!
Long stupid boring
Well, that's one way to describe your life, I guess. 🤷♂
I have a 2023 Nightster, this how I want mine to sound. Nice work! 👍🏽🤟🏼
Does it say MT09 inside the wheels? I saw someone els with a 2024 with that wondering if its stock
No. The Cyan one does.
@@m0t0rnews26 it was blue tho. It’s on RUclips with an aftermarket exhaust
@@m0t0rnews26 it think it’s just a sticker.
@@Squids_Vlogs Oh. I have seen sticker sets for Mt-09 wheels, though. So, maybe it's a dealer option? Sorry, if I got it wrong. I wear glasses to read, so if it's really small, I probably won't see it.
I love mine black noghtster. Totally agree its stupid expensive. I do not like the cost of the services from Harley at all.
Such an underrated bike
Agreed.
I took a couple out for a spin. They do move well but the throttle takes some getting used to coming from an air cooled evo
I just bought a 2024 Nightster S last week and have this exhaust coming 😂👍
Enjoy!
Any notice of rev hang between gears? I’ve noticed after installing mine that especially if I am in road mode, There’s a lot of hang between shifts. In sports mode it’s “better”
Yes. It got better after I got a dynojet and a custom tune.
Ok cool, I thought I was going crazy, good to know I am not. What did you use for tuning? What did you end up making for power?
@@mustangGT375 www.blrtuning.co/, cost around $190 plus the price of the dynojet 3. Turn around was a day. Send your login info for dynojet and he’ll put the time in your account. And, he will tweak as necessary. Made sport mode less snatchy. And made the bike more powerful and more lively. I don’t know what the final power numbers were. I will say this though: I never got beat at a stop light drag. Make of that what you will.
Does the comfort seat make a big difference?
No, although it does have a thin layer of extra padding. And it looks good, so that’s a plus.
Can you recommend this rear view mirror?
Yes!
Automotive dealers have been using the "Foursquare" for many years. It's always been a scam.
I like the early XR's flat track body work (tank /tail & solo seat, the low sculpted tank does not have that top heavy looking sportster wannabe chopper look to it as opposed to the 1970's era flat track genetics of XR tank and tail ) So that early cosmetic design adapted to the modern chassis, suspension and evo or later engine design which are light years better than any 70's built shovel based HD AMF junk would be the sportster i would own. Harley seems to be under some delusion that their ride for the brand people will love or buy whatever they put out just because its a Harley. i liked the sportster 48 look a few years ago, with larger tires, maybe a springer forks, but that stoopid buckaroo sportster tank ruins the appeal of the design. I am old now, being raised on knuckleheads and Panheads and flatheads back in the day. even the 1957 sportster was far better looking standard bike that what it was to become, back when they were both affordable workable and good looking 1936-1965. All the AMF year harleys are what choppers should have been made from, i used to cringe when i saw a knucklehead or pan head chopped and butchered, a 1965-1983 bowling ball, not so much.
Fascinating. I would love to see a modern XR-themed bike, kind of like the Ftr.
Nice now that you got the first service out of the way you can be prepared to do it yourself next time
Yeah. I decided to let them do all then initial checks for the first service. Definitely plan to do the oil my self at the next interval, 1000 miles.
Nice ride! A quick Q.... does the bump on the right side of the motor ever bump your leg or bother you??
Thanks! No, not so far.
Who the hell thought that the picture of the bike should be constantly going from normal to close? stupid and irritating.
General info if you go for an extended warranty. That 4-6 year warranty starts 'right now', so it's worthless during the factory warranty. You can still get it, but right before the original runs out. By then, you should know if you need it. Of course, the finance person pushes to sign it NOW, because they know that you may realize that you don't need it.
Never even consider the "4 Block" paperwork!
How many miles do you average on a full tank?
When I fill up, the fuel gauge always reads "More than 120 miles". I average between 46 and 48 miles per gallon, so the actual range is probably 140-150 before the light comes on.
hey bro got a question if ya dont mind. I received that pillion comfort seat without the leather being locked in place around the hole where the cylinder lock goes through. Basically what im tryna ask is, did you have to fit the leather tightly under the cylinder lock or was yours in place already like on the stock seat? Greetings from Ger, ride safe
Sorry for the late reply. Could you take the lock off the old seat and install in the new seat. Slide the locking tab off, and the lock with come out easily. It is a pan to put it in the new seat.
Hy there, that means that the new Seat came without the Lock system?
@@mirmx1336 Yes. Use the lock from the OEM seat.
I have a 2021 sportster s with just under 10000 miles. Great bike and solid as far as mechanicals. I am about to trade in. Im getting $8500 for the trade in value. If your interested and fairly local to New England I would be open to talk. Also has mid controls on it.
I'm also curious about the seat. Thanks for the video. Also, where did you purchase your accessories from? Yamaha doesn't show me wind guards and stuff like you mentioned.
Everything I get for the bike comes from Yamaha EU, or other parts of the world. Here is a good place to start: www.yamaha-motor.eu/gb/en/accessories/motorcycles/?product=238697&vpid=931f3f28-1db9-4f24-b66c-410bdd283500&lio=0
Here is another good site: RWN-Moto.com
@@m0t0rnews26 Thanks. I'll have to check out RWN as they seem to ship to the states. Yamaha EU doesn't ship to the US. 🫤
@@Izmolio1 Yeah, I have been getting the part numbers from yamaha EU and then buying them from RWN.
by the way I'm waiting on mine and I'm thinking of getting the comfort seat. do you recommend it? how is the difference between the two?
The comfort seats are not as comfortable as I thought they would be. They are better than the stock seats, but not by much. They do look better, though.
@@m0t0rnews26 Interesting but not unexpected. Thank you! Maybe also it needs to be broken in lol. It does look awesome though
@@otlndsh Yeah, maybe. It is much nicer than the stock seat, though. I really like them.
@@m0t0rnews26 I love the look of the comfort seat. My first few days on the stock seat were pretty rough, but it seems to have gotten better. Once I finish other mods like tail tidy, blinkers, and new levers/mirrors I may pick up the comfort seat just for looks. It looks real nice, a little extra comfort is just a bonus.
@@KjKase Very cool. If you do levers, please share the video. I am thinking about getting some.
I think this bike is/will sell like hot cakes. Yamaha did very well
No more nightster?
No. Too many no-starts after the recall was done.
I was thinking of getting rid of mine too. But I’m kinda underwater still on it.i had a 2014 fz09, great bike!.congratulations.
@@joeygsxr3293 Thanks!
Riverside Harley (CA) was pressing me hard to sign for a $45k contract + $5k down + my 2020 sportster for 23 fast Johnnie. When I refused and explained why(cause it’s a ripoff) their sales manager came out of nowhere very aggressive, rude, and just an asshole, telling me I can refinance blah blah blah. I bought a Suzuki gsx8r last Saturday, straight up sale $200 under msrp.
You definitely made a good choice. Those GSX8R's are great bikes.
@@m0t0rnews26 thanks. idk I could have so much fun on a motorcycle, I didn’t feel like this on my sportster. One of the best decisions I’ve ever made.
10k for an xr is high
My first bike was a 2003 883 Sportster 100th Anniversary Edition. Bought it new when I was 20, wish I’d kept it. Not particularly quick by any means nor the greatest handler, but she was gorgeous (at least I thought so) and a lot of fun to run around some two-lane backroads on.
The Indian FTR is a great sport bike. It's close to the HD's Sportster S in spec, but looks very different. Base model starts around $13,499 and go as high as $18,999 with various models in between. The rest of their lineup is all cruisers, baggers and touring models, not unlike HD. It should be fairly easy to find used FTR's out there.
I got to ride one demo day. It's a phenomenal ride.
I just saw a good XR online for 6900.00
Yeah, the used prices have fallen lately.
That's a four square. Just a negotiating tool to help put a deal together. Used them for years. Funny you immediately have to pay $1420 in additional profit for prep and freight. Sounds like to me you had a dip sh#t salesperson.
Bro I picked up a sportster 1200 for 3500 two years ago with only 2k miles…. 10k for a 2009 is a ripoff
In 2022, when I was looking for one, $9k was fair market for these in my area. And, I really wanted on, at the time. But, considering that a new Mt-09 costs that much, I agree.
Cash is king, specially in this economy… it took me couple weeks for the guy to drop the price that much
That's a ridiculous good deal
@@user-zp3rh8qv7oit was 😅however I had to buy new tires because the originals were rotten and also the original key fob was lost so I had to get one, new oil too because the bike was sitting for so long and new battery lol…. Everything was another 1k
@@user-zp3rh8qv7obut waaaayyy cheaper that buying in a dealership
Gotta add tax and prep stuff that'll be 3k alone
Exactly. No way was I dropping that money after the greedy bait-and-switch.
A woman had kounts kustoms on history channel had them fix one of these they made changes to help her ride it easier she was some kind of racer as well.
