The problem with FORDS PTU is- 1 It is under engineered. It is not as robust as it needed to be. 2 Ford wraps the PTU up in exhaust & coolant hoses. Too hot. 3 There is no drain plug for servicing. DORMAN builds a replacement PTU which is more robust has better cooling AND it comes with a drain plug. $850. !

I switched to LED about 2 years ago. Good upgrade! The bulb is occasionally starting to flicker, any idea?

The relay/fuse can also go bad. I replaced the module in mine and it fixed it but a month later it started to not start again. Had to replace the relay in the main fuse box as well.

Do you have to do this because of the gear ratio on the 5 speed?

So if the tube is hard to get routed to the bottom and it just wants to go straight back, how would flushing a couple quarts through it be effective if the tube goes straight to the back and not to the bottom.

On patrol I drove crown vics. I drove a Taurus on occasion. The Taurus was too small for me. I now bought an used Police explorer and love it.

The tray would have been for the guts of the 2 way radio and more modernly a mobile modem and other computer equipment. Your trunk is likely equipped to keep cool on hot days too. Tighten up that light and make them all operational again. But DO NOT activate them unless you're on private property. If you operate them on public roads and highways, and a cop sees you, they will arrest you and charge you with impersonating a police officer. That would be very bad. Keep the push bar too. That will offer extra protection in a crash and help you help others by pushing them to a fueling station. I have done that before.

Tray would have had the radio body, a computer (unless they just used toughbooks mounted up front ofc), and probably a siren / els controller mounted on it

not sure if your still responding to comments but i have a ej257 out of a 2016 with dual avcs sensors , my 2011 wrx i’m putting the motor in has single avcs . can i buy block off plates and just swap my cam gears off my old motor and get cam sensor block of plates

Can you do a video on throttle body or valve/intake cleaning and how to remove the throttle body pipe? There's really not much of any SHO videos about this & another person also had teouble getting the pipe out also. Don't wanna break anything on this beast doing such basic work. It's much much easier & more straight forward on the 3.7's for some reason. No problems there

This needs to be done every 30,000 miles or every 40,000 miles. My Ford shop refused to do it because they only want me to spend $1500 or more to replace the whole unit. I have 40,000 miles on my 2020 Ford escort the 2020 and up come with a drain plug and a fill plug so you don’t even have to worry about it, you just do the same as you would the rear differential

Just an fyi, your car does have catalytic converters in it. Theyre just tucked up in the engine bay, right off the headers

L.O.F. means lube oil and filter Not ac freon. Freon hasn't been used in over a decade.

Likely picking up a used flex soon. Tons of stuff already changed on it including s rebuilt tranny, which is why I think it might be a good buy. However i dont see any records for PTU service so I'll probably do this soon. I wonder if the thin long handle tools used for serpentine belts would help with this job. We'll see!

I like that a lot of the comments say he's trying to look like a cop. If you want that, all you have to do is buy a four-year-old charger and keep it stock. At least around Portland Oregon here, a ton of cop cars are literally just unmarked chargers with regular plates. I assume any of them are on the road.

One thing abt retired police cars I like, usually, is tht they r pretty decent for the money u can get them for.

On your shifter knobs at the end of it is a button for low shifting be careful if yout driving fast ,😮
