in an interview arkane said they regret putting too many things into prey. But thats what makes it so special. Its such a complex, but still well thought through and coherent game. 10/10 perfect, best i have ever played. And no shi**y cutscenes breaking immersion.

Dont know if you mentioned it since Im keeping the video for my nighshift. But I love you can destroy January that helping you and February will take its place with straight forward objective. Also when you invest into too much typhon powers the turret will start to shoot you because it mistakes your dna for a typhon there is so much details in this game that it puts many 3A games to shame.

I played this game a lot as a kid. Everyone was always in the Cyber room lol. Problem is, it was an Adobe Shockwave game which was discontinued years ago, it stopped working and they never upgraded it.

Prey is immense fun.My preferred ending is to blow the station.. and escape. I activate it, shoot January, then run for the shuttle. (It's more fun than using Alex's pod, as the garden is under Zero-G rules, and als obecause you get to see some of the people you saved!)

One of the best games I've ever played. The DLC is THE BEST DLC I've ever played in my 20 plus years of gaming. It never gets repetitive and boring. It's heartbreaking this game didn't continue and the devs didn't receive the praise they so rightfully deserved...

their best was by obsidian, you can tell it's Bethesda game as the npc glitches are the same as fallout games

I haven’t watched the full video yet but when you mentioned how it deserved better at launch, I remember how insane it was to randomly stumble across this game on the second it released. My friend offhandedly mentioned Mick Gordon had done a soundtrack for a new game coming out and I looked it up on Steam out of curiosity, as an absolute Metroid Prime nut, the idea of a new sci-fi first person game just had my attention immediately, I had just sold all of my cs:go skins and got enough to buy the game so I did, and it changed my life. Played it once and it blew my mind, then after a month I played it another 6 more times trying new things to get the achievements and experiencing the game with it’s different outcomes and playstyles. It’s seriously one of the greatest games I’ve ever played and I just happened across it because of a composer.

Also 2:05:43 you can solve this problem by listening to the logs in the Talos Exterior, since the Nightmare can't appear there. This marks them as listened to and stops them from autoplaying without using up the satellite.

I love your choice of the soundtracks for this video, it fits the vibe of Prey perfectly. Ambient Fallout tracks to match the desolation of the station, the Flood theme from Halo kicking in during the scene with Captain Marks and the Advent, good shit.

I feel like you missed the point of the final 'moral choice'. At that point you've passed all the tests. To even be allowed the choice they've deemed you a moral agent. You've jumped through their hoops and proven that you see them as people and aren't a sociopathic killing machine. It's not a Moral choice, it's Your choice. How do you feel about being a rat in Alex's maze?

It's good to see that you appreciate Prey, but I don't think you've given Prey: Mooncrash a glazing yet. If you haven't, you should check it out. It expands on Preys gameplay with a Roguelite aspect that gets progressively harder.

Yu really need to try a no-neuromod run. I love how there's so many ways to play this game, and without mods you have; no hacking, no extra chipsets, limited inventory, no repair skill, no weapon upgrades, base; HP, Stamina and Stealth skills and obviously no alien magic. It really makes you feel weak and have to really use your intelligence to get past the tougher sections.

The soft music when you watch the video and have to reset the looking glass servers. "Ok, crappy situation. But things are looking up, i have a reason to do stuff!" Really wish this one had more marketing as well....

It should have been called System Shock 3, because thats what this game basically is.

I love this game! I think it’s one of the best I’ve played. It’s such a shame it wasn’t successful, it should’ve had the hype and advertising that starfield had. Still, I’m glad it’s getting some love now.

Never fight that flying golden thing. Use crossbow with nerve and they explode or just throw something to it. Simple.

Really great video. I think i do disagree on your point about the character calls being annoying In the final part of the game. I played with a slow stealth focus, rearly entering combat until I was sure I was ready for it, sneaking around, looting and setting traps. so when calls would come in even in the late stages of the game I found I could listen to them with no interruptions. I deffo do see how if a call were to come in especially in the final stages and if you were playing a hard and heavy play style than it might be that you miss some of these bits. But i think that's understandable. if your character is running and gunning you wouldn't be able to hear what everyone's saying anyway?

Barely started the video and just to add: first, Prey 2017 is one of my favorite games of all time and one that I try to replay at least once a year. Second, the very first time I played it? For some reason the glass I broke to leave the apartment was the aquarium in the corridor lol. I think its neat that you can leave it through more than one place, because it ties in heavily with how this game allows the player agency with how to solve things and explore it. It didn't even crossed my mind to break the balcony glass the first time I played. As a result, my first experience was literally the backdoors of the simulation where we have one to two mimics (they gave me a nice scare that first playthrough) and having to circle all around, and it was awesome, seeing the helicopter and getting to see how the simulation and its environments were done.

leaving out the fact that the child kidnapping guy literally TELLS you that he tried to help kids out of their situation, and that the ACTUAL people in charge put him there, which again lines up with the corruption of Transtar. Honestly, I believe the guy, and even if I can’t be sure he did it, I’m not going to let some random corporation kill him for profit.

this was a great video, really good to put on while I cried over getting my knitting wrong. a bit of constructive criticism: captions are super important for accessibility. some people are deaf or hard of hearing or have auditory processing issues and rely on captions. i know they would have improved my watching experience. automatic captions are only like 70-80% accurate on average, but those are still better than nothing most of the time.

The problem with Prey is, that there was a Prey before Prey and while it was good, it wasn't so legendary that it would shine a good light on the other Prey. I did not care about Prey 2017, because Prey 2006 wasn't my jam. Reboot gone wrong

I love this game it’s easily one of my favourites to the point where as a kid I had an autistic fixation on the game and played the demo multiple times for hours on end trying to squeeze every drop of content until I’d saved up to get the full game some of my best memories now that I think about it. 1:49:30 to answer the shuttle advent question I reluctantly choose to detonate the shuttle. 20 minutes is just to small of a window to risk an outbreak that would inevitably spiral out of control within moments. I try to justify it by saying that A. It’s an instant and painless death, B. It’s way too risky to let the shuttle land, and C. If there’s mimics on board they’re dead anyway.

I think talos 1 is quite possibly the best environment I’ve ever explored in a video game.. it’s either that or night city, but as much as I love night city, talos 1 leaves me in awe every single time I play this game.. the station exterior itself is something you’ve never seen and never will see again in a video game, and the station itself is just so well realized and feels so lived in and real it’s just unmatched by any other game I’ve ever played

I love the final choice at the end. You still get validation for all the choices you made in game, through the operators' commentary. And then you get offered new context about how YOU feel about those choices and the environment in which you made them. How can you trust that any of that was true? And even if it was, it's still being used to essentially brainwash you. Maybe you do feel more human, but maybe instead of empathy, you feel rage. I did a 100% non-typhon, pacifistic playthrough and that made it an even more interesting decision. I killed them. Maybe, in an imaginary epilogue, my typhon feels guilt about it. Maybe Alex succeeded after all and I've been irrevocably altered, infecting the rest of my species. It's fun to think about the ripples.
