It seems daunting at first. And sometimes you will die. But I suppose it's like anything, the more you do it... You can actually go part of the way to the crypt now with regular cold gear, apparently. But there's a radius around the crypt that only the bear suit protects you from. It's new this (or at least recent) update. But for all intents and purposes, if you wanna do the quest, you need a suit. So I haven't bothered updating that in the vid yet. The staff is in a different place now though, so I have released an update vid for that. I'd say it's easier to get the staff now tbh. I doubt I'll do another Deer Isle Guide until the (apparently) final version 6.0 is released. Looking forward to that though. Thanks for watching man. Really appreciate it. That's a nightmare man. What was there? If it's a high pop server, then it may have been taken. But I do know that there have been a few teething issues with modded maps and 1.26 integration. Maybe best to check the discord for the server. Ask a mod there

So apparently, boiling doesn't get rid of heavy metals (as it shoulnd't), so I think that the frozen cooking pot I found must have been uncontaminated by metals. The pot I filled from the now though...... I may end up sick when I next log in. I can't remember how much of the snow pot I actually drank...

@TedAndTrev yea that's fair, I always remember nearby props like fallen trees or big rocks. You can always use a GPS tracker and map as well

Yep. I totally agree. But it appears to be very popular on some servers.

It's been a while since I stopped building. Maybe a year or two. We ended up on this server because we had lives where we were together scattered around our usual servers and didn't want to split up, or the other choices were full. So we ended up on this one, which I hadn't played since we stopped building bases. I now remember why I stopped playing it.

Yeah, some servers are even more extreme than this one. To each their own I suppose. Just not my bag. Maybe I'm just not a good team player 🤔

Yeah, those gravity defying floating bases are really irksome. I just think that in a game like this it's really hard to balance for the devs in vanilla. On community severs like this, they go their own way, of course. And there are many other even more uber modded servers that people seem to really enjoy. It's just not for me really. I've lost some of my own tents in the woods when I first started playing, as I had no idea where I'd left em'!

I had every intention of using the song, but YT copyrights wouldn't let me. So instead, I had to a song literally called pear, by some random dude who occasionally says "I eat pears now and sh*t like that". It wasnt the same.Damn you disney Copyrighting!

@joec5025 yes. You don't really need diving stuff once you have the staff. Unless you wanna loot them some more. That nade spawns in 3 Zeds, if it's the one I'm thinking of. I think I was caught off guard and almost downed by them...

@skeezertron I understand the urge. We used to build bases all the time. But it tends to lead to a playstyle where people stay near their bases and can always retreat/restock/hoover up all the loot. For me at least, the game is at it's best when on a wandering adventure with friends. If a server is listed as "no bases", I'm immediately more interested. But I do get it. I used to build them all the time when I first started playing.

This is why I need a running mate! Coz of these MFz!

@killinassassin42 we've all done it at some point man. I used to do it all the time when i first started playing vanilla cherno, trying to find trev in the woods somewhere. I don't do it anymore unless I'm really desperate. I've been on the receiving end of what happened to this guy too many times.
