Justin is smart lol he said “we’ll talk about that when the camera is OFF😂” and the instructor is right….. the youth have been SEVERELY over medicated for just being kids…. Stimulants, Prozac, and now Hormones bc they’re telling the kids they can change their gender….💀 I worry about this because we will have a SEVERE pilot shortage if it’s encouraged to medicate these kids… even if it’s acutane, it’s going to make it even harder

Any where in the world spins are mandatory part of training here in usa goverment dumbs down ppl so much they don't know what to do when they enter the spin..... it's a joke how flight training in usa is compared to anywhere else

I took both my private and instrument checkrides with Lyn. She is a wonderful person and used both checkrides as teaching opportunities. I feel very fortunate to have flown with her.

Your question at 6:00 doesn’t make any sense… saying that twins don’t have to be “certificated for Vmc” doesn’t really hold water. I don’t know of any twins that don’t have a published Vmc speed. Are you trying to say that they aren’t required to climb on one engine?

OMG..that was painful to watch. You can't have someone unfamiliar with SoCal airspace fly safety pilot for you, no matter their rating. He needed to be on that vector out of Brackett to KCCB. We have big, tall mountains around these parts. Where does Derek fly out of? Use your rudders is his best advice?!?!...go to Flabob and get some taildragger training.

Too much trivial stuff like, “the check ride was delayed due to blah-blah-blah.” More storytelling than information on what to expect from a check ride.

If you were planning the same xc flight but considering waas gps in the aircraft and a vor, would you still plan it using victor airways for the flight planning exercise of a checkride?

I was looking on the name twice that Chris was my DPE of instrument checkride. This will be big hint preparing my commercial checkride which will be coming soon. Thx for sharing. He is really good DPE and knows the point.

Very good interview !! Most of DPE know very well their stuff. Which books they use for their knowledges like commercial instruments or ATP or multi engine ??? because some books are just good for the written exam but they are not in depth in the subjects

As Justin’s CFI Initial instructor, Justin is the exception not the rule. Justin finished the entire CFI curriculum in less than 25 hours including flight time. Justin is a self studier and as you can tell he is very well spoken and presents himself well. Justin is a hard charger and a goal driven individual. Self study is so important and as DPE Lyn Carlson says, “The best instructors are those that are curious” I totally agree. The year Justin did his CFI, I trained 8 CFI’s and CFII’s for a total of 14 individuals all of which I sent to Lyn Carlson. It is totally unfair to Lyn to convey negative comments on her. She is hard but she is fair! I take pride in every CFI I train and I absolutely recommend Lyn for safe, competent pilots! Thanks Justin for the one mention of me in this presentation.

I have some reservations about the legitimacy of the information regarding laminating documents. When I inquired with my Certified Flight Instructor (CFI), he suggested that laminating was permissible and challenged me to locate the specific FAA regulation or Advisory Circular that supports this claim. I'm curious to know whether this information is sourced from an official regulation or if it's more anecdotal. But hey good job with the lessons!
