Really appreciate you taking the time to do this man. Life saver. Appreciate it.
Not reality. There's a design flaw where the removal of the carburetor is restricted by the handle assembly. This required removing one of the mounting stems (right side) for removal / cleaning. Give yourself an hour for the entire service.
My snowblower has that exact problem.
Thank you! I needed this video for my daughters 65
Look at all those buttons! Sounds good too. I'd love an LTD cfi but i'm happy with my interstate.
Starter Clutch was Noisy on the Overrun..... if it does not get better after a few Runs an Oil Change/Flush may be required.
Yea a good ride to get the oil hot and circulating will help. Being how long it's been sitting it definitely would hurt to do a 1 ride Oil change. The sprag clutch wasn't slipping so I'm hopeful it just needs to be used a bit and should come back into it.
I just got one in similar condition. Do you think a whole tub swap would be cheaper in the long run?
Depends on what your goal is. I'm not looking to restore this old thing, but just make it safe enough for an inspection sticker and do a little off-road driving with the kids. They sell every panel and floor pan for these jeeps. If the tub can be saved, then it will be way cheaper to replace the sheet metal as needed. I did get this thing finished and inspected. I will try and make a video of it showing what I did.
Had a new 800 3 speed waay back in 76 - fantastic mini tractor- not like the crappy stamped out junk of today- when life was real !!. Had the 36" mower deck, Dozer Blade, Wheel weights. Fun times !!
Yea these old tractors are just good machines. your lucky to get 5 years out of a new one
Check engine Oil
Steel mower decks rot out from the Grass Juice- might be a good idea to blast off all the underside of the deck and Hammerite it or similar
Use Deoxit D5, not generic contact cleaner
I have 3 wheel horse c-81
nice job! I just cleaned my carb on the same snowblower. Don't forget to clean the jet behind the large black plastic screw. Mine was surging after I did the initial carb clean. I took it back apart and realized that I had missed that jet behind the black plastic screw. This has some debris in it. Put back together and ran perfect.
Where are your springs?
Dude where are uour slrings
Dude that center riveted laminated damper plate broke what the hell do I do
So, what happened? Did you give up? No videos beyond #19?
I got it running. Just havnt had time to make a video, hopefully soon!
These are great tractors. We have a "Herd" of them here. My Other Half has 5 from the 60s. I have 8 from the 70s. We share one 1986 that even has a backhoe. Thanks for posting!
I have a 1967 commando 8 , I use it to push snow, I also have the snow blower and a 36-inch aerator and a 36-inch Scotts drop spreader I have not done anything to it other than normal mant. I did replace the mower deck about twenty years ago
Awesome, these old tractors will last forever. I restored my 1968 raider 12 in 2018. It's been sitting a while now, someday I'll pull it out and make a video of it. Thanks for watching.
Throttle? What, like a home made cruise control?
Kind of, you can lock the throttle at just above idle to just cruise smoothly in first. It will stay there if you touch the gas or brake unlike "cruise control". Very nice feature to have for off-roading, especially in a manual.
congratulations you've done a hell of a job! I have the same bike 117,000miles on her.these bikes have a surprising amount of personality and the fuel injected limited edition is a runner that loves to cruise all day at 90 miles an hour. Hats off to you
Thanks, people seem to love these old wings.
Volume level changes are getting me bitched at by my wife :) She doesn't find clutch rebuilds very interesting. Volume needs to be the same from beginning to end, please.
I know, I need a mic. If and when I hit 500 subs I will upgrade my equipment. Thanks for watching, tell your wife I'm sorry 😅
Thanks for posting , I just got c141 1978 , 2 mo ago today painted the last couple of pieces today frame up , motor mounts, switch, wiring, tighten steering, adjust valves, coil condenser points, fluids, ag tires , mostly all new bolts. I'm really enjoying restoring this amazing neat old tractor. Around 25-30 rattle cans to prime & paint it and snow plow. Bomgars farm supply feista red, around $200. DECENT running when I got it . Wheel horse are are built like old farmall's ❤💯
They are great old machines. They just don't build them like that any more. You can do a very nice paint job with rattle cans if you take the time to do it right! Thanks for watching.
I look forward to new videos of the 1200, I already want to see it working!!!
I have a youtube short of it running while I was synching the throttle body. Working on another video in the near future.
Why does a map of the USA appear on the radio screen? how does this work?
It's segmented into time zones
I'm watching all the videos and I'm surprised by the calmness with which you face all the obstacles and it's very scary to see that entire motorcycle dismantled. It's a shame that most of the videos I saw don't have substitutes, although I also noticed that talking is not your taste, but it would be good if you explained some of what you decide to do or see on the tour.
I will look into adding subtitles. I am a man a few words but I've gotten better and more comfortable on camera 😁. This has been a huge project. Also, somebody else took it all apart so it's been a puzzle the whole way through. Cheers
@@MotorbikeGarage603 Yes, I have noticed that they are more narrated as you progress in the project. Congratulations!!!
Could you tell me what the function of dielectric grease is?
It helps keep the moisture out and prevents corrosion
and when you open it again to dry the desiccants, you can take advantage and place the last filter, the plate and the spring correctly, the order is incorrect, first the filter, then the plate and then the spring.
The desiccant should be blue, not pink, that's because it's wet, dry it in the oven for a while.
The air suspension is full of oil. The amount of moisture this little pump make is so miniscule that I personally don't even think it's necessary to have it in there. I almost just threw it away but decided to keep it in. Thanks for watching!
Why aren't subtitles enabled on videos?
Too many work my friend. I will see every step of the reconstruction
I just got a '92 YJ that has spent the last 20 years parked inside a garage in Arizona. It's disrespectful how unrusty it is. That's some work man! Gonna be sweet when it's done
You guys out west have no idea how harsh living in the salt belt is to a vehicle. 😁
After that, just move the cable up an down.
Hats off! Great video, keep them coming.
I have an 877 and an 876. Working on a deal to get a c81. I just really got into Wheel Horse tractors and have fallen in love with them. Plan on slowly restoring them just to bring them back to glory and help them last longer.
Awesome. I trust my life to my c81. I restored my 68 raider 12, but I honestly like the patina of the c81 better. If you take the time to buff the old rusty paint and put oil or wax on it, the results are amazing. You can beat 40+ years of patina.
This is almost the same project that i am starting. I would like to see what you come up with.
I got the floor and tub mount floor support replaced. I'll make a video soon
Bonjour de Belgique mon wing 82 a un embrayage très dur ,démontage mais cela n arrange rien ,quel pièce pose problème ??
Master/slave cylinder good?
What year
1991
They made one like that in 1988 right
Great job, there is one more jet that you may want to clean out, it's the idle jet..it stops it from surging, but it appeared to be idling ok, good job
hello man, nice video. i want to instal a car audio sistem in my goldwing 1984, but i dont want to make a mess with switches, wires, conectors, etc. at first my original panasonic stereo dosn´t works so i put a modern sony stereo but as i say, i dont want to make a mess with wires so i was wodering if you could tell me if there is some adapter on market for that honda conecctor model (minute 0:40) from an old input stereo to a new one modern stereo. and if it´s not posible how i could identify which are the pins for the frontal speakers and the wire for the antenna
Most likely going to have to build your own. You could do a Google search but being 40 years old at this point I doubt there is going to be much available for these old bikes. Good luck👍👍
Now that you've gotten this far why not overhaul the whole block. There are some bearings in that engine that would love to be replaced. Also, a visual check of all the gears and the crank shaft would be good. As well as the stator which was a common issue with these.
Thank you so much for this video I've got snow coming tomorrow and I was afraid to even touch a carburetor but you made it look so easy and step by step instructions help me get through and my snow blower now starts and I'll make sure I don't leave the gas and the snow blower next time Thank you have a happy New years God bless.

You seem fairly knowledgeable on what you’re doing I have a 2008 Honda Goldwing that is popping out of gear probably need shift forks dogs are probably worn looking for someone to do the job, I live in Connecticut
He left the fuel in there since last winter. And he's wondering why it doesn't start????
What causes that crap? Thanks
The ethanol draws moisture (water) into todays fuel and as it sits it in a carb for months at a time without being ran it will start to degrade and cause that gunk to form. If it sits long enough it will start eating away at the metal, rubber and plastic parts. Nasty stuff.
@@MotorbikeGarage603 Thanks bad stuff
Briggs and Stratton has never failed me yet.
They perfected the small engine a long long time ago!
Great video. While you have the carburetor off, don't forget to clean the low-speed jet. It is the jet under the black idle adjustment screw. It just pops up after the idle screw is removed. If you have done a complete carburetor clean and your engine still does not run correctly, then on the newer PowerMore engines used by MTD there is a hidden screen behind the fuel inlet elbow. Some other carburetors also use a screen behind the fuel inlet. The best way is to try and blow the clogged screen clean with compressed air or use carb spray to help dissolve the clog then blow until the carb clean spray can freely pass through. This video shows where the screen is located. ruclips.net/video/Pb4he2F4ZEw/видео.html
First like here guys. Nice old Panthy.
and to this day that fuel hose clasp is still loose! :3
I read or probably heard here on RUclips, non ethanol will last for a long time?
Yes, it's the way to go in small engine equipment. Especially seasonal things that sit around 9 months of the year!
