✨Glad’s travel guide✨ This is such an underrated town in Taiwan! Read on for more information! Like, Share and Save for more! 📍埔里镇 Puli Township Took a taxi (gosh the bumpy mountain roads make me 🤢) down the mountain to 🏘️Puli Township 🏘️ after visiting CingJing the previous day! ✌️Fun fact: Food panda seems to be the go-to delivery service and ride-hailing (Uber) is not as popular? Idk. 🌸Puli Town doesn’t attract many tourists as it is usually a place one passes by to get to CingJing/ Sun Moon Lake/ Taichung/ Hualien But our family decided to spend one night here to experience their local life!🥬 First impressions were that it felt like a small Japanese town → very clean and homely feeling🏠 Everyone seems to know each other and know where the go-to spots are! A town undisturbed by tourism fr.👍🏻 HOWEVER, we visited at a time when it coincidentally happened to be their Taoist festival (occurs once every 3 years), and the whole town went vegetarian🥦 for a week. All meat stores were closed and all kinds of vegetarian food filled the streets (it was my little heaven Omai)🤣 We wanted to explore the town so we rented bicycles (which were so comfortable and aesthetically pleasing) from 🚲545 Bike, 顺骑自然🚲 200TWD for 4h (GREAT SERVICE STAFF), opens 9am-6pm *but be careful, traffic is a little hard to navigate and there are many scooters 🛵 Using our bicycles, we visited the famous confectionary chain 🍫Feeling 18🍫 They had 4 stores along the same street, each selling different things: gelato, chocolate truffles, freshly-made bread and a cafe All 4 of them were bustling and we had to test the hype…IT WAS SO WORTH IT!!!✨ We got: - 🍦gelato store = 3 scoop gelato: 70% choc, assam milk tea, almond pistachio - 🍞 bread = Omai the buns were hot, fluffy and so fresh they were all so good! They had samples for us to try and we bought them all hahah After that, we cycled to the 🏮temples to check out the festivities and chanced upon their night market🏮 (selling all vegetarian food that night teehee) Red lanterns lined the entire town and it was a beautiful sight! Best thing I ate at the night market was the grilled mochi from 🍡渡哲 food truck🍡 - got the 花生牛乳（peanut powder and condensed milk) flavour and it tasted like 🥜elevated muah chee🥜!!! Hot and crispy on the outside and chewy and stretchy on the inside gahhh what a good mouthfeel🤤 I initially had no high hopes of the town but it turned out to be an unexpectedly enjoyable day!🤭 Maybe you can check it out next time you pass by the town! ✨Glad’s travel guide✨ 📍清境农场 CingJing Farm. Read on for more information! Like, Share and Save for more! Known for their 🪴green pastures,🏔️ mountain views and 🐏 sheep-viewing experiences, this is a popular attraction for tourists visiting Taiwan. But is it truly worth the hype?🤔 ✅Pros: great mountain views (looks like a painting to me!), sheep cute too! Nice cold weather (like Genting) ❌Cons: no night life (Most attractions close at 5pm), bad signal, multiple entrance fees For my family, the main highlight was the ☁️QingJing skywalk☁️: - Spectacular mountain views during the hike - During sunset, the mountains were painted a red hue and it was breathtaking - Sheep strolling below you and minding their own business (mehhhhhh) - Affordable entrance fees ✌️Tip: stroll from northern entrance of the skywalk to avoid uphill hike (which we didn’t do…so it was a workout for us, but the stunning views kept us going) 🥲After the skywalk, we decided not to visit the other attractions/farms as - not interested in the animal shows - already saw sheep on the skywalk - Every attraction had separate entrance fees 🚖How to get there: My family booked a taxi from Taichung bus terminal that took us straight to our resort ,🍒Bunbury fruit ranch B&B. It was a 1.5h journey but our driver was very nice and kept us entertained with information about the city. Alternatively, you can take the cheaper option which is a 3h bus ride from Taichung. ‼️Prepare for bumpy mountain roads and carsickness ‼️Make sure to get a place with heated bedding as it is pretty cold at night! It is a life-saver and it’s so comfy! ⚜️My personal opinion is that this is a relaxing spot that you can spend a few hours exploring but I wouldn’t recommend spending a night here. The farm visit can be optional too (if you are not interested in the animal shows). Just go for the QingJing Skywalk! Like, Share and Save for more! It is a very quiet and peaceful town with very nice views and VERY NICE PEOPLE🤩! Head there to relax in their hot spring baths (private and public) and visit 🔥地热谷 Hot Spring Valley🔥 for some stunning views (watch the steam float across the water surface!) ❗️Need to wear swimsuit to the hot springs ❗️ I stayed at 🏨Spa Spring Resort, which featured private hot spring baths in the rooms and hot spring pools on their rooftop! 🦶Xin Beitou is a very small district and all their attractions (such as the markets, pretty wooden library and the gardens) are accessible by foot. 🫵Fun fact: even the water in their drains are HOT! Watch out for steam floating out of holes in the ground. 🚆How to get there from Taipei: take the subway from Taipei Main Station to Beitou Station, before changing to another subway for 1 more stop to Xin Beitou station. 🔥PSA: I don’t know what they put in the tea eggs here but they are bussin!🔥 Like, Share and Save for more!
