    Hi, fantastic video and especially the preset. Using your preset I was able to get my Behringer X-Touch Compact (generic MIDI controller) to partially work with Pro Tools. Solo, Mute, Rec Arm work perfectly with PT, by replacing the codes you send/receive from your console with those of X-Touch. But I run into a problem with the faders. I can move the faders from my console with PT but not the other way around. When I send PT i.e "B0 00 pp B0 20 00" to move fader 1 by moving the fader on my console (which in my case sends "B0 01 pp"), PT ignores it. The funny thing is that if I flip it to Send A, by sending "B0 0F 0B B0 2F 47 B0 0F 0C B0 2F 43" from your preset, it works! I can move the fader of the Send A, I even tested Send B which also works, but not the main faders. When I flip back from Send to normal faders, PT ignores my signal. To debug this, rerouted the HUI codes sent by PT to Bome back to PT, skipping my console altogether. I wanted to move Fader2 with Fader1 so I created a Translator that receives B0 00 pp B0 20 qq and sends B0 01 pp B0 21 qq. It does not work. Funny thing again, is that if I flip to Send A, it works. I can move Fader 2(Send A) with Fader 1(Send A). I have Ping activated, as in your example. Any idea on how to make the main faders work? Are there any "secret codes" that have to be sent in advance for this to work, some sort of initialization? Any Pro Tools settings or anything else? Thanks in advance for any ideas that you have.

      V Control allows the Pro Control to function again, which in itself makes it very usable. Since it connects via HUI protocol you're limited to the commands, so it does not allow the Pro Control to function completely as it did originally. It has everything I need, including plugin control. If you need full control, use Avid Control.

Does the talkback work? 4.) Do you need any xmon or can you use an external monitoring system like a Dangerous 2bus+? Thanks for any insight.

    • @MegaManDrum
      @MegaManDrum 5 лет назад

      1. You don't need an HD Rig. It speaks directly to HUI protocol. 2. The 4 arrows in the master section allowed me to zoom a number of different ways. 3. Talk back is part of the analog monitor section of the Pro Control, so if you choose to use it, it works. 4. I don't know. I use mine as a control surface and Presonus Central Station for my monitors.

      Considering I get the use of my mixing platform again, albeit not to its absolute full capability, I am extremely pleased. Many of the go-to functions are there for me, and it is very accurate as far as latency is concerned. There are a few bugs still but nothing that severely hampers my work flow. When banking per channel or groups of 8, the meters will freeze if they become a blank channel after banking, and the surface will occasionally, but rarely, go offline. I close V-control Pro and then restart, all is well again. Other than those 2 issues nothing else has happened that is a major problem. Totally worth the cost to use this surface again, and I am hoping for future developments and using at last the basics in other programs... In my case MixBus 32C v5.

      Maybe, that controller may send and receive different messages, so you'll need to find out what those message are, and use this program to translate and route the midi

      +Skhot “MegaMan” K Can you post a link or what's the best way? I didn't see a way to send a private message on your account page. Actually you can now go to my link and click the about to get an email address for me. Thanks!

    How did you intepret the MIDI data with the Arduino Mega? Did you have to mimic the HUI in all of it's functions or just certain ones?

    • @MegaManDrum
      @MegaManDrum 8 лет назад

      The MEGA is flashed with Hiduino, making it a class-compliant midi device. I can send and receive midi to the MEGA this way, receiving midi messages for VU and controlling the appropriate LEDs via programming

      Thanks, but i was specifically talking about the software. How did you interpret the MIDI data? Which specific data was useful?

      +Skhot “MegaMan” K out of all the data you received, did you ignore all but the VU? Or did you have to handle other data as well (ping, etc.)

    • @MegaManDrum
      @MegaManDrum 8 лет назад

      +Brandon Canfield all other data was ignored

    It has just recently come to my attention that Bome Midi Translator Pro v1.8 now contains serial port support. This means any controller that connects to PC or Mac via Midi or Serial termination can receive these signals with Bome Midi Translator itself. This eliminates the need for serial to midi conversion as previously stated in the comments section (Hairless MIDI<>Serial). I have confirmed functionality using these controllers with the HUI protocol in both Pro Tools 10 & 11.

    Absolutely. If you can connect controllers via HUI in Logic (which I'm sure you can) then you are all good.

    I'm not sure what you are referring to "this" as, but if your asking about getting your Yamaha mixer to work with Pro Tools as mine is in the video, the answer is yes. However, your path may be a bit more involved to achieving functionality.
