What a great, patient pup. I hope my Maggie will be like him, we are ready with all the training videos, we live in Indiana and get snow and cold so I am getting prepared for winter. Maggie will be here in 65 hours! YAY! Thanks for sharing this!
One gentle reminder for everyone - your dog’s legs move forward and back, but not side to side. Not always easy to avoid a sideways movement, but necessary. Nugget is awesome! So cute!
Great video. Nugget is so incredibly patient, not only while you’re putting things on him, but through your explanation. Wow!
Two-lee-are. Cute pup!
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I have not received a response from any breeder 😢
Have the same. Best one ever...Love him crazy
He's a fine little dog, and I hope he will bring you all lots of happiness and giggles. I wish you rainbows.
Dachshund is promounced " DAX-HUND ".

P,ease tell me where can I buy those boot pants? Thanks in advance🐶
One is not enough must have two! I’ve had a Coton for 13 years and then got a single family home and got a second Coton de tulear. They are two peas in a pod. Funniest dogs ever two girls Angel my old lady and Dakota the sweetest puppy you’d ever want to know. She loves Angel like if they were twins. So much fun I love my cotons.
The dog may fade. Angel is champagne and white while Dakota was brindled but she has faded to almost white in less than 8 months. Dakota is 8 months old she will be like Angel white champagne once puppy coat falls out. Dakota is a big fluffy long haired Coton. Best dog Ever
We have Easy for two years. He barks a lot and he is total idiot. Every two days he is pissing on our fridge and he live with cat Tommy. When he got a chance, he is eating Tommys food, and when Easy is with my dad outside, Tommy is eating his food. They are trying to exterminate each other in that way. But you know, nobody is perfect. We like him a lot because of his cuteness beside of fact that he is trying to bite me at least five times per day...sometimes we call him “Easypeasylemonsqueezy” !
Nugget and I share a birthday! March 5 babies unite!
We love our Coton. This breed has tons of personality.
We found our Coton when we moved here to Madagascar a year ago. She loves showing off that she can outrun our two labs. I think she'd do well at agility courses.
They look horrible with the hair cut. To have a coton and cut his hair short is stupid. Or just lazy. You wanted a big fluffy dog, got a small fluffy one and you took out the fluff. So sad
They are adorable either way. No need to be so shallow and judgemental.
@@faithaymr the only reason to cut the hair short on a Coton is because you are lazy and cannot brush the dog once a few days. You shouldn't have a fluffy dog if you cannot care for it.
We just got our Coton a month ago. As you did, we researched and thought this would be a good fit. She is a delight... We were lucky we found a breeder who wasn't to far away. They had lived in France for awhile and learned about the breed while there. Interesting fact, every year they name based on a letter. This year the letter was S, so we picked a name on that tradition. Looking forward to many wonderful years with our girl.
Can u share who the breeder is? We are keen on getting a coton
Miss u </3
We have a Coton de Tulear and a mini poodle. Two boys the best buddies ever. Kept us sane during isolation of COVID. We love them ❤❤❤
Thanks for this video! I’m landing on the Coton as the dog of choice for my FIRST dog!! I’m in Ontario and found a breeder in Halifax
We have had our Coton de Tulear for 6 years and love him more every year! We found a wonderful breeder in Pinehurst, North Carolina (CarolinaCoton) near us. I have kept his fur long!
Thanks Marie! Hope you are doing well.
Ei, Jesus pede pra você realmente deixar ele te ajudar ;), talvez haja um bloqueio no seu coração que não deixa isso acontecer :).ele te ama!!!
I have got mine about 2 years ago, can’t tell if he’s actually a cotton de tulear specifically BUT ik those dogs are precious to have. I want another one that’s not quiet expensive my dog needs a friend
so cute! I have a cotton and he's the best
Best dog I’ve ever had.. smartest dog!! Funny, kind, great with my child & other dog. Our humid climate here is not so great for his coat, he gets dreadlocks within 2 days.. just going out for potty breaks!! So, consider that….
I have a coton. He is so cute. I love him so much.
After having Bichons for many years, we got a Coton. A lot like our Bichons but so soft & silky. Our little boy is 4 now & his name is Riley. He's a very sweet cuddly little boy. This is a fantastic breed for anyone. The don't shed, are easy to train, wonderful companions and are great around kids. They have a very happy, sweet disposition & love to cuddle. They smell like a little stuffed teddy bear. If you can locate a good breeder, I highly recommend this breed!
I just found out my “Maltese” is actually a coty!
I need some advise because i really want a coton de tulear but i got asthma and the lowest level of alllergi for dogs and i wanna know if i still can get the dog even if i have it because i really need a dog so i can be a bit happier
I have asthma and allergies and haven't had any issues with our Coton, as long as I bathe him often. If he picks up outdoor allergies it can affect me. I would definitely try to interact with the breed before getting one just to make sure. Everyone's asthma triggers and allergies are different.
@@Jerilyn89 My mom is scared to let me get a dog because she thinks my asthma and allergies will get alot worse and it really annoys me
@@SamuBird I can understand your frustration. I’m sure she is just very concerned about your health. My mom was the same way- she is also allergic to dogs and has asthma. But she is actually considering getting one herself now because she does not have any issues with my Coton. It would be worth exploring and discussing with your mom and maybe trying to find someone in your area that owns or breeds them so you could visit and see how your asthma and allergies react.
Hi My coton is a very picky eater He hates dog food What brand of kibble do you guys feed nugget?? We are trying different brands of kibble
Just subscribed, glad I found your channel. We will be going to get our little Coton this morning. Very excited.
We Love our little Cino (cappuccino) We got Cino when he was a 3lb puppy. He is 2 yrs old, now 15lbs. And has brought lots of joy and happiness to our retirement life style. He’s very quiet and loving, very smart, he was easy to train and loves to travel. Cino is good with other dogs and neighbors and children.
What an great dog! He sat perfectly while you put it on. Mine is a wrestling match lol
Cutie!
Nugget looks like a very sweet boy!🐾🐶🐾
What a great dog. We stumbled into the breed back in 1997. Living in California we found that waitlists were very long. While on a trip to Michigan I decided to see what the wait there might be like. While on the trip I was able to find Chloe Jean, or CJ as we call her. She will be 14 in May and still thinks she is a puppy. She is the joy of our life. If you are considering a Coton this video gives a great overview. We actually love the breed and our little clown dog.
Nice vid! I'm interested in the breed. Could you recommend any breeders closer to Texas?
Unfortunately we live in Canada so I don't know many breeders that far south. I would definitely recommend looking for Facebook groups in your area and seeing what people near you reccomended for good breeders to get on a wait list with.
I am looking for a coton, do you have e any recommendations? I also live in Canada, Toronto.
Jaco Kennels in Oklahoma is where I got my Coton, she’s the best dog I’ve ever had!
I have a coton too! He's amazing and too cute! I uploaded a video of him on my channel if u wanna see🙃

I have a Coton also called Sammy! He is asleep at my feet now while im watching this!
What a sweetie!
I'm gettin a coton de Tuléar pup in december! Any advice?
Congrats! They aim to please so positive reinforcement training right from the beginning! And get them used to grooming tools slowly but start early! You'll thank yourself later when brushing is something they don't hate.
Are they relatively quiet dogs? I'm thinking of getting one, and I live in an apartment, so I would require a dog with minimal barking.
I adopted 2 Cotons 9 years ago, litter mates. They bark at absolutely everything. I think each dog has their own personality and some dogs need to bark more than others. You can try to teach your dog not to bark so much, but if it's in their nature, there's little hope of changing that. As for this breed, please only consider them if you are willing to do the grooming necessary and daily teeth brushing is an absolute must. They are very active little dogs. Mine love to run, jump, explore. At nine years old, they still behave like puppies and we take multiple long walks each day. Their hair gets super long and they need to be brushed daily to keep out the mats. Also, it's best not to leave them alone as they will cry. If you spend a lot of time at home that would work, but don't ever get a dog of any kind that you leave alone for more than 8 hours a day. It's not good for them. Hope that helps.
It definitely depends. Most of the ones I've seen have some sort of vocals to them. But I have been told some are very quiet. Ours was the quiet one in his litter but is now quite vocal even after training. Unfortunately barking level is hard to determine no matter the breed as sometimes personality is bigger than breed tendencies.
Ours only barks when he is super excited to see someone. Otherwise he does a low, fairly quiet growl when he hears something suspicious outside. I tell him thank you for the letting me know and “check it out” and he usually stops.
Hi Nugget! I have a Coton also, I love him so much! He is our best friend and so sweet
How trainable they are?
They definitely aim to please! Each dog no matter the breed will have its own personality so its important to discuss the type of training you have in mind with the breeder so they can ensure you're matched with the best pup for you. But overall they are very trainable and very smart! Nugget is definitely a food driven dog so positive reinforcement via treats made basic training pretty smooth.
How trainable they are?
Beautiful dog but how trainble they are?
I’d fire the groomer who does your Nugget. The ears are cut WAY too short.
Funny we actually did, but not because of the ears. He has really tiny ears to begin with. We keep them long with the new groomer 🙂
How do you keep his eyes so clean, mine is always a mess. I try the pads and stuff but they don't do much for the staining. I don't really mind that much because he's an awesome puper anyways. Cotton De Tulears are absolutely wonderful dogs, so hilarious and so loving.
Good question! We Honestly don't do much. While we are on vacation his tear staining got way worse and we have been told it could be a change in the water or stress related. It did decrease when we came back home. We use stainless steel bowls and wash them frequently. I've also been told if your water is heavy in minerals using a water filter or filtrated water can help. I clean his with a wash cloth and warm water is all.
I met a spotless Malti on a walk and his owner swore by distilled water. Our first Yorkie drank it for the rest of his long life and had the cleanest eyes. Ask your vet!
It's really very easy. Just wipe the areas around their eyes with a damp cotton ball. They don't mind it at all & it keeps their eyes looking nice.
