As a Venezuelan, I’m truly sorry to hear about your experience. It’s disheartening when people take advantage of others, especially knowing the struggles so many face. I'm surprised they actually sent you something given the circumstances. Venezuela is enduring so many challenges that some individuals might resort to desperate measures for money. It seems rather insane to ship by DHL, a carrier well known for international shipping and handling, and still end up having your stuff held for years once it landed on US soil. It’s too bad that you had to pay so much extra on what was seemingly a really sweet deal, but it’s great that you finally got them and the restoration looks phenomenal. Congrats on the absolutely sick pieces for the game room/new store!

I don't think the seller was particularly out to scam you but the whole situation just sucks. I find it personally kind of crazy to just keep them in a warehouse for years. I would have personally gotten a professional company to pick them up and get them to you. Would be quite a large extra expense sure, but in my mind it would have been either paying another 3k or so to get the statues worth way more than 3k or get nothing, regardless of the initial purchase price. Brandon swapping his statue with your messed up one was extremely nice of him.

Seems like the better looking statue was just it when he first got the statue probably, and it had been worn and torn over the years and the hand broken off, and was to afraid to tell you that it was the same statue, and by saying hes sending the one without a broken hand really its the same one that was better looking in the photo, so he wasn't lying by saying he was sending the onbe you asked for, not saying what he did was alright, but thats just what I'd think as a outsider listening to your story. Not trying to downplay what he did though just to be extra clear.

This was one hell of a story. I for one am glad you kept it a secret. I can't imagine the wild ride you went through to get them.

First of all why are you dealing with people from Venuzuela ? You cant trust those people or even the country. Its filled with low life scammers, frauds, criminals, etc. Im latino myself and i am no racist, im just stating facts. I mean not all of them are scammers, but theres lots of people in Venezuela you cant trust.

Hey Coop, longtime watcher here. I'm from Venezuela, left a few years ago. I'm sorry you went through so much stuff. In defence of the seller (just in terms of the shipping), shipping companies screw people there all the time, both sellers from Venezuela and buyers from outside, even the bigger ones like FedEx and DHL do this, where they get things "lost" in transit or make sudden changes to the delivery methods that were never disclosed. When I was there I was scammed multiple times and got stuff stolen. Same when I've tried to send stuff to my family from outside. It also doesn't help that sometimes these packages have to make pit stops in different countries. It is an absolute mess and has been for at least over a decade. Sorry that you had such a messy experience.

You should feel lucky the guy actually sent you the statues. He could have easily sent nothing, or crates full of old clothes. Since he had multiple things in that shippers storage place, he must have known how they operate. Then he can always blame someone else for switching them out. The restoration cost should have been agreed upon upfront, or atleast a ballpark figure. The end result is exceptional though. I also swear this video title said $24,000 not $18,000.

I am a rare book collector and I have been scammed selling and buying. Luckily I have profited far more than I have been scammed but that's just the way it is.
