Sunset swan bathing
@TrumpeterSwanSociety
Watching trumpeter swans in winter at sunset is a magical experience of light and shadows.
Here’s a swan family taking a quick, sparkling bath. They dip into the golden water to wet their feathers, water pouring off their backs creating ripples in the sparkles. At the end of a bath, two of the swans go into display, flapping their wings to align the feathers, capturing sunset light.
Meanwhile, you’ll see winter’s beauty of trumpeter swans and ducks taking off from the ice and water, creating long shadows and fiery splashes. You’ll hear the distinctive honks of trumpeter swans still on the ice saying goodbye to the departing swans.
