There is a lot to unpack here. FIDO is a security protocol. If you’re being asked to install this by the person who randomly texted you and wants to teach you about Crypto, Probably not. If your Relationship banker is asking you to install this to MFA your account, you’re probably safe.

Depending on which Mac - it may have Thunderbolt 1. You would need a Thunderbolt 2 to Thunderbolt 3 adapter most likely, but depending on the situation with your 2011 you may be better off having someone remove the hard drive and putting it into an external case with thunderbolt.

It says it is moving everything over but the progress bar never moves. I think I will just try again at someone else's place with better wifi

Are you saying that your computer and another device are both on the mobile hotspot? Then it should work if you are putting out the same internal IP range. If you are trying to do it from the computer to your phone which is acting as the mobile hotspot that won't work because the phone is technically still on the cellular service.

Hey, @dorothyopisa4575 - phones don't have admins (unless you mean a shared iPad). And most likely, the answer is no. Most devices, unless enrolled manually, can not have the MDM profiles just easily removed. You'd have to wipe the entire device.

That depends on how the phone was enrolled into the MDM. If it was automatically enrolled through something like Apple Business Manager (where the organization owns the device) the short answer is no.

Possibly - we've never used it. You do need to run it on your own server though. So it probably has it's ups and downs. If you are that small you may want to check out SimpleMDM

Hi @joscelynedrew8001 - it's hard to tell if the computer is locked. It may just be that your roommate is leaving an app with the camera active (such as zoom) open. You should talk to your roommate though.

Not sure what you mean @aymdesign4534 - do you mean there was MDM on a machine you somehow bypassed it? Usually you can work on a machine that has bypassed the Automatic Device Enrollment without any issues, but then it will not be in the MDM until you wipe the machine again.

Hey @giftedhat - No they can't see your photos. As for your Apple ID, that depends on the MDM and what's being managed.

Hi - probably not. MDM lock has to be unlocked by the MDM. Otherwise, if you wipe the computer it will try to re-enroll in the MDM. Hope this helps.

Honestly, depends on your needs. We really like Addigy because it has a Multi-tenancy, but we also use JAMF, SimpleMDM, Datto, and a few others.

@@VirtuaConsulting How about Microsoft Intune MDM? There are so many articles and written documentation regarding how to get started with Intune, and there are so many articles that seem to be tangents, too.

Hi Dex - you should always assume yes, but they may not. Once the profile is on your phone, you can look at the things it's controlling. iPhones are different than computers in that respect that there are only limited things you can access - for example, they can't see your camera roll - but they can however disable your ability to see your photos app or camera app. Hope this helps.

Tawanda - depending on the MDM lock - you may not be able to. That's the function of MDM!

Most Mac-based MDMs can lock devices, if the device was fully enrolled in Supervised mode - meaning the device has to be purchased and enrolled in ABM, and then your MDM.

Bought this as installment on a samsung store but this samsung store i think is a franchise store the receipt has other company name lol and i think before they give the phone to me they login something i tried to hard reset the phone it wipe completely but there is error libfs_mgr error updating for slot select. Tried the setting thing to look if the os if tampered its 0x0

@@youngmalit811 Knox enrollment is an MDM but it's for business users. Did you buy your phone used? I would maybe factory reset it and start it fresh. Sounds like it was configured incorrectly. But check with your local cell provider (whoever you got the phone from) just to be sure.

@@VirtuaConsulting Thats what i understand too its for business idk why they enroll it. I ask them they said yes i think its for their safety cause its installment payment but is it safe? With this phone enrolled to their system do they get my infor data password images videos like that?

Hey Animesh - it really depends on the workflow. It can be great but there is quite a learning curve for it. If you are using it just for Mac management, there are probably better options. Hope this helps.

Hi Heidi - your best bet for something simple would be SimpleMDM - we love using it for iOS devices. However, if you are a personal user and not a business you won't be able to put your phone in full "supervised" mode - but you should still be able to manage most of things such as hiding the apps you don't want using the setup.
