Great post! I have been battling my 1054 LGTX at every start. i knew it had a choke issue, but never knew what to do about it. What a quick fix. no more starting fluid for me! thank you, sir.

That's the rubber cap from the fuel pump stuck in the line. The new pumps come with little rubber caps. They never removed the caps that's what is stuck in the line 😂😂

Looks like the cap was forgotten on the pump when they installed it. Is my guess

Yep, pined! It’s just a little bit slower than a golf cart but has a lot of pulling power.

Mine wont mow in tall grass. Replaced little tube that was split and it worked awhile

Decent job. I did this on my cart but used the wire from the switch to activate a relay to run the circuit as to not pull ALL the power for the LEDs through the switch
@@REG3305 being LEDS were used and their low power requirements there was no need for a relay.
Got mine (like-new condition) for $15 at Goodwill. 🤘🏼

I wonder if some of these new models suffer from a non adjustable carb. My brother hates his 131 wants my fs85. I recently got another fs85 and it's carb was non adjustable aka no low hi screws. I have had other stihl equipment hit or miss on what carb. Just wondering if the 131 was the same or if something else is wrong with his almost new 131?? Hard to beat a good 2 cycle don't think I will buy a 4 mix while 2 strokes are still available. I do like my M18 fuel trimmer for small jobs but it's no fs85. Then again my fs85 us no B450 Shindaiwa lol.
I have an FS90 and the carburetor is adjustable. You will need to buy the right adjustment tool, as it is splined.

Get rid of it. My john deere E 100 had so many break downs i pushed it out to the road and put a signal on it for free everything replaced. Now, it needs a transmission. And when to bobcat and I got a new mower that will run and cut for a long time. I will never waste my time on junk deere again.
@@dennisbrown-8782 I agree with you on that!! People will keep pouring money into junk cause they think there’s an ounce left in the machine when in all actuality they need to cut their losses and buy a new one.

Just lost two hours on a generator and I do suspect it’ was the fuel line cause I have a new pump and if I pour gas in a bottle the engine starts no problem
Try cleaning it. I had the same problem I had to takeoff the spark plug wire and solenoid

Been using a husq 329 and a stihl fs70 rc ... this makes me want to pull on the fs85 and see if it still works. I grew up using the 85, and an older one my dad had i cant remember what it was. But boy that 85 sounds exactly like mine and i miss using it
I was actually able to get the 85 to fire up yesterday, but it desperately needs some sort of tuning. If I didn't see thus video. That thing would still be hanging in the garage today

Why would decompression be on intake valve not exhaust valve
I have a KM130R and, in all honesty, I don’t think I’ll own another 2 stroke trimmer. They have way more bottom end torque than 2 strokes. I do valve changes and repairs myself, so I don’t consider the “hassles” of 4 strokes to be a problem. Plus, the sound is easier on my ears than a 2 stroke trimmer.
I worked an entire summer with one before realizing it was 4 stroke. All I knew was it sounded amazing and seemed to knock everything down with little effort.
A couple of days ago, I bought a Durocut 20-2 head and I’m running 0.155 line in it. You can really tell how much bottom end grunt it has now. In my original post, I said “valve changes”…I meant adjustments. It’s been running great for 13 years.

it looks like the protective cap that comes on the new fuel pump was forgotten about and is now stuck in the line...never seen a liner in fuel hose...solid reinforced rubber

How do you change the bilt on this
We have a tractor that acts like it's not getting enough fuel & you have to choke it after it warms up/gets hot, changed the carb, still has the issue, wonder if this could be the problem ?
Could be. Check the fuel pump and pulse line too.
Always change out lines on new carbs as a just in case 😁. May be more money on the customer but it's worth it.

That’s a good question. I think it has something to do with the orientation of the inlet and outlet to the bolting tabs.

What if the pump doesn’t have the markings for which way the fuel flows
You’ll just have to hook it up spin the engine over and see. If nothing happens flip the lines and try again.

No, that was my own stupidity. I was painting that muffler and it started to rain so I picked it up and finished spraying it while bringing it in.

I found this saw on fb marketplace for $20! Didn’t run, primer bulb was installed backwards! lol Easy fix! Even came with a case! Good running saw, but… I had to mod the muffler! It woke this saw up! A short of it cutting should be out soon.
