V good video and excellent audio.
Born and bred on the Island love the crab sannies from the cafe in Rylstone Gardens, best on Island
Love this island ❤❤❤❤❤❤
How would I access the walk from say, Shorwell Parish Church, now that one is not allowed to walk across the wooden footbridge ?
Lovely video, would it be possible to do that on a daytrip, coming across from Portsmouth or Southampton do you think?
Thanks I used to walk the part through Afton reserve when it was first built. Its lovely to how it has developed over the decades since.
Lol...I can see my car and bungalow in this video.
I walk my two Romanian rescue dogs along the Medina river on both sides , picking up litter as I go . Unfortunately , some people have no respect for the country side , or the beaches or the rivers , or the wildlife.😔 It is , what it is . Where is 'Connie's Way' ❓ I've not come across that stretch of the walk. Or have I 🤔 Is it Blackwater ❓ 🇬🇧🐕🐕
I live in Newport , and often take my two Romanian rescue dogs there . It's great when the tide is way out . I usually stop , once I reach the pub by Puckpool park , and rest on the bench overlooking the sea , though I have carried on along the stony beach to SeaView , before returning to Ryde . 🏝️🐕🐕🇬🇧
Love your videos! Keep up the good work ❤
Thank you and great to hear you're enjoying the videos! ❤
Loved the video, thank you.
Oh brilliant ! You two are so knowledgeable & helpful to us 'would be' walkers'. I used to do a lot of exploring, collecting fossils etc, but having lived on this beautiful island, for 17 years, family commitments, club memberships, gardening (wildlife gardening !) etc, have got me out of the habit. Thanks to your inspirational video, I'll get back on the trail.
Hey you two. 😃👍 Another really enjoyable video. I've never heard of that place, & we holidayed right by there in 2023. 😂 What I love about your Channel is you get off the beaten track, & show places that aren't necessarily on the tourist trail. It's definitely on my 'to do' list for our holiday in St. Helens for 2024. Happy New Year to you both. Keep up with the great videos. 😃👍
Happy New Year Matthew, thank you once again, we do love to get off the beaten track and give an insight into what the island really has to offer. All the best for your next holiday here and do let us know what you think of the park and we sure will keep up the content! 😃👍
Thanks for another great video. I'd never heard of this. I'm over for a weeks cycling holiday in May so I'll go here on the day I go to The Needles. Happy new year to you both.
Happy New Year @galaxyrideuk it's a lovely place to visit and all the best for your next cycling holiday in May, many thanks for the comment 😀
Thanks for sharing 🌈🧶🍓💙
A beautiful part of the world.
A very informative video of the Isle of Wight. However you say near the end that the fort is Horse Sand Fort but it is in fact No Mans Fort. Horse Sand Fort is still derelict where No Mans Fort has been restored, I believe in the early 1990s.
Great video, loads of history i didnt know, thank you ❤
Such a peaceful spot, thanks for sharing. 🍓🧶💙🌈
Hey Lucy & Kyle. 😃👍 Great to see another video from you guys. Wow, you really were off the beaten track on that day ! 😄 I've never even heard of Hamstead on the Island. The views were beautiful, and it looks like you had a perfect weather day too. I'm looking out of my window at home in the Midlands, & it's dull & raining & cold. So watching your video with the sun & blue skies brightened my day. Cheers you two. 😄👍
One of my favourite walks way back when. Many thanks.
Many thanks for showing us these hidden quiet corners of the island. I like the history and the nature walks too.
Thank you Jan, we love that you're enjoying the content, we have lots more to come!
Great video. More please.
Thank you very much. There will be another on the way very soon
👏 Oh my, you really struck a cord. Dancing in Rylstone Gardens under the stars on a balmy summer evening. Shanklin was the prim holiday destination in the 1950’s. Those were the days. Thank you!
Glad our video brought back such a delightful memory for you
Can't believe St Catherine's is closed for visitors. It's spectacular and with the right management would haul in the tourists in the season.
I did have the pleasure of visiting the lighthouse when it was still open to visitors several years ago, but I do agree, it is a shame this is no longer an option - Lucy
Thanks for sharing, it’s been awhile since I visited. What happened to the wax works museum? 🍓🧶💙🌈
Hi Jenny, unfortunately it closed in January 2010 and has since become retail and office units
Hey Lucy & Kyle. Great to see a new video from you guys. 😃👍 That looked like a lovely walk. Really enjoyed watching that one. I think my family & I did part of it a few years ago, but didn't get as far as you two. I know what you mean about the wet weather you had. We were over there in July, & had pretty much two weeks of rain. ☹️☔ We visited Bembridge Windmill in a Storm, & got totally drenched. 😩 We're over on the island again in 2024, so will put that walk on our list. Loved all the history too. Really interesting. Keep up with the great videos. 😃👍 Matt.
Thanks Matthew. We really enjoyed this walk. It's a shame the weather has been so poor again recently but there will be another video on the way very soon.
Great video, I love Shanklin ☺
Thank you, yes there is more to it than perhaps people realise
Glad to see the little hide is still there - now with the luxury of a boardwalk which we never had on our Christmas Day visits. Loved spending a few hours usually bathed in Christmas sunshine to see the birdlife.
Thanks for sharing 🍓🧶🌈💙
Thank you for watching Jenny, we really appreciate the support 😊
Hey Lucy & Kyle. Really enjoyed that video. That walk looked amazing. Those are all places I've not been to on the Isle of Wight. We've booked our trip over for 2024, so Shorwell is on our list. 👍 Thanks for the great videos, keep up the great work. 😃
Thanks once again Matthew, love reading your comments and glad you're enjoying the content. This walk definitely has the views specially on a clear day! Stay tuned for the next one! 😁👍🏻
That is one heck of a strange route you took there.
Hey Lucy & Kyle. Great video again. 😃👍 The scenery around there is beautiful. I'm not familiar with 'Newchurch' to be honest. I know Newtown & Newport obviously. Did you say that Newchurch is on the East side of the island? Another thing on my 'to do' list for next year. 😃 Are you guys going to take part in the 'Walk the Wight' for next year? Keep up with the great videos. Cheers. Matt.
Hi Matthew. Newchurch is indeed on the East side of the island. We are definitely considering doing Walk the Wight next year. All depends on the weather and circumstances. Thank you for the support
Hi, where about sin new church did you start the walk, we would love to do this.
Hi there. We began down School Lane, go through the car park and down into Newchurch Moors Nature Reserve then follow the route from there. Hope that helps!
@@TALKtheWALKofficial thanks we will do that probably this weekend
Thanks for sharing 🍓🧶🌈💙
Loved watching this film about the walks in my favourite place Shanklin
Thank you, glad you enjoyed our video
My next walk, but I am going to go all the way to Newport.
Enjoy. We've been all the way to Newport before but had to catch the bus back
I will be doing that as well, train there, bus back. @@TALKtheWALKofficial
Hi Lucy & Kyle. 👍😃 Thanks for another great video. Loving the channel. The east side of the island is where we normally go. We love Bembridge & St. Helens. We've booked for the St. Helens Holiday Park for 2024. Don't forget to have a meal at "The Crab & Lobster" Pub. Amazing food. Keep up with the great videos. 😃👍
We visited the Crab and Lobster for lunch back in January and we enjoyed it. Excellent that you've booked for next year. We hope we've provided you with plenty of walking inspiration for when you arrive
Hi guys. 👍😃 Great video again. Lymington is a really pretty little place, & well worth a look. Take it easy. Keep up with the great videos. 😃👍
There is a great pasty shop in the town as well
Stayed at Whitecliff Bay Holiday Park many times over the past 20 years. Beautiful area & beach. 👍 Great video, love the channel.
Hi Lucy & Kyle. 😃👍 Great video. When my family and I were over on the Isle of Wight last month, we tried to find the Tennyson monument. We drove around for ages trying to find signposts etc. Eventually, we gave up & had a day at the Needles, & afterwards stopped off at Compton Bay. When we sat in the Car Park at the bay, you can quite clearly see Freshwater Bay in the distance, & rising above it was the famous Tennyson monument. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 By which time it was too late to walk it, & I'd lost interest anyway. 🤣🤣🤣 On our list for next year now !
The nearest place you can park to the monument is in Tennyson Down car park on Highdown Lane. Alternatively you can walk to it from the Needles or from Freshwater bay
I really enjoy your little videos. I like to come to the island for cycling. I've been twice this year, staying at Shanklin. Thanks to you I discovered Rylestone Garden. I took my fish and chip supper there a couple of weeks ago. Keep up the good work.
Thank you for your lovely comment. We are so pleased you enjoy our videos and have discovered the lovely Rylstone Gardens
Thanks for sharing. 🍓🧶🌈💙
Thanks as always for watching Jenny
Hey Lucy & Kyle. 😃👍 Another great walk, really enjoyed that one. My family & I were in Carisbrooke at the end of July, visiting the Castle, whilst on holiday in the I.O.W. Such beautiful scenery around there. We actually picked a 'dry' day too. Didn't have too many of those on that holiday ! ☔⚡🌧️💦 😆 Keep up with the great videos. 👍
Thank you Matthew. Carisbrooke certainly does have great scenery and the Castle makes for a lovely day out too. Glad you managed some dry weather on your holiday. It certainly hasn't been a great summer weather wise
I spent childhood holidays in Ryde in the 1950s. My father took my little sister and me out on the canoe lake in a rowing boat, of which there was a large number. He wanted a narrower one, but the attendant said they were all the same. My father lost his temper and shouted at him, and when we were finally underway, the experience was too upsetting to be enjoyable! What he had shouted included 'Cor, love a duck!' so it is very appropriate that the lake is now inhabited by the same...
👋👋👋🧐
👋👋👋 pity about the FERRY ⛴️ COSTS £££ 👋👋👋🇬🇧
Nice Vid, my Mum was born in Bembrige so nice to see her home.
You lucky people. 👍😃 Must be an amazing place to live. I bet it's wonderful in the Wintertime, as the climate will be mild, & it'll be quiet. We're off to Thorness Bay soon. Can't wait ! 😃👍
Hey you two. 👍😃 Great video. East Cowes is really cool actually. I think most people just drive off the Ferry, then drive through & out of the town without a second glance. Shame as thete's loads to do there. We stayed at Waverley Camp Site a few years ago. You get amazing views of the Cruise ships passing by. Keep up with the great videos. 👍
Hi. New to the channel. Really enjoying watching your videos. My family & I love the I.O.W, but live up in the English Midlands. We really enjoy seeing the less touristy areas of the Island, & try & keep off the beaten track. It's probably my favourite holiday destination. Such a beautiful place. Keep up with the great videos. 👍😃
A very warm welcome to our channel; we're glad you're enjoying the videos so far. One of us is also originally from the midlands. The island is certainly quieter in the winter yes. Enjoy Thorness Bay. We will certainly be filming a video there at some point
