Air conditioning re-gas Nissan Juke
Просмотров 15 тыс.5 лет назад
Recharging air conditioning on a 2013 Nissan Juke. The system had lost pressure over a to year period so suspect a minute leak but going for a cheap recharge for the summer.
VW Golf Mk6 Failed air conditioning compressor cheap and easy fix
Просмотров 105 тыс.5 лет назад
This video will show you how I repaired the failed air conditioning on my golf that had no compressor pressure on the gauges. it requires the replacement of the drive clutch. Gauges not essential as the fault is visible by eye. Hope this is helpful to you. parts are available on eBay and amazon search 'Air Conditioning Compressor Repair A/C Delphi Clutch 5N0820803 For Seat Skoda VW'
Muchas gracias por la información tan detallada. Un gran saludo, tienes un suscriptor más 🤝
Hello Allan, 2 years after this replacement there is now a metallic noise coming from the engine bay, when the AC is off. It dissapears when I turn on the AC. Any idea as to what could be causing this?
You are horibel dont make any videsos
The impact driver undoing the central screw worked for me. Bought a DeWalt body only for £60 from Toolstation. It is super compact. The central screw had partially come out. I think this is happens because once the splines have sheared, the clutch spins anti-clockwise against the central screw, partially loosening it. Thanks, Alan. This plus the Swedish dudes video (ruclips.net/video/RW1DJfJJYwk/видео.html) gave me confidence to tackle this job. My vehicle is a B7 Passat, I had more space to work with than the Golf or Seat in these two video. Not sure how long the part will last, but if it is 30k I will be happy. As I saved £400 (£180 compressor, cost of a regas and an hours garage labour).
Currently working on my 4th one which is a pain to get out. I got the first 2 out on a warm engine with a lot of manual tugging. The 3rd one separated at the top and after stupidly tearing the boot with a pair of pliers, bought myself a small air compressor and shooting air down into the boot just popped it right out. Got a proper tool for the 4th one but even it does not really help in the end...still stuck. I may try your gradual method to work it out. However, I may just twist more and purposely separate the boot since the air compressor method to get the boot out works pretty much flawlessly.
Thank you, your tip worked wonders. If anyone is doing this don’t forget to put some thread-locking fluid on the bolts and recharge the ac if necessary.
Not a mechanic but couldn't you have put 12V on the wires of the compressor/clutch? I think this would clamp everything together. With the belt still in place this would prevent the shaft from spinning giving you the opportunity to loosen the bolt. Just searching for a solution for my Touran but it doesn't seem to have a clutch.
Hi there. It isn’t a clutch on this drive, the pulley is always driving the shaft but a valve at the back engages or disengages the pump, the part acts a bit like a tvd pulley just taking the shock out of the drive when the compressor comes on and off load, hope that makes sense I am not a mechanic either just play about In my garage to save a few quid
Thanks for the cable tie tip to remove the coil packs. My plugs had been in from new,62000 miles. I found a squirt of WD40 down between the coil pack and cylinder head helped too. Thanks again mate👍🏻
Thanks for the comment, glad it helped you out and way better than buying the special tool. Good shout on the WD40 and also on stretching the change out to 62k 😂
Excellent video. Good tip about not using the new Chinese bolts - tensile strength of a banana 😂. Many thanks.
Hello! What are the size of the bolts? Just got my clutch and it came without bolts.. Im going to use old ones if they are still good but would like to buy right bolts before I start the operation :D Thank you!
thanks ALAN bought drive clutch after watching ur upload not planning on fixing myself but my usual mechanic said he didnt do RUclips bodges !! ( : dinosaur anyway had go myself great tutorial pretty straight forward and after other viewer comment only removed front part inner arch on VW GOLF 2.0 GTD MK6 203 000 miles pretty sure wont be doing again ( : oil /filters myself twice a year & easy stuff but that was about it until now air con running very cold all we need now is the summer to arrive thanks again neil
Great news glad you tackled it and got your air con back, good to hear this video still helping people
Hi mate - not sure if you're replying to comments at this point. I have this same issue with my Audi A3, one of my symptoms is also a bit of a rattle when the air con is on. Did you have this as well at all?
No rattle just the bolt lose in the centre was the only symptom for me
@@alanclarke888 Cheers - I think I have a different issue potentially a leak.
Halo polska Ktoś powie jak poznać uszkodzona tarcze ? Bo srednio widzę różnicę
The teeth of the spline were gone
Do you have the purchase link to ignition coil connector with silver pins ?
Hi Sir. Which one is CYLINDER4 ?Nearer to battery? Or furthest from battery?
Nearest the battery
@@alanclarke888 thk u very much

Fantastic walk through helped a lot! 👍🏻
Great guide! Did you figure out what the problem was; I have lost all the Freon from my Juke 2017. From Nissan they said that we have to put a colour in the system to help us find the leak. If we find it. Anyway... Any suggestions will be appreciated!
lifetime guarantee torque wrench looks not so possible ? pulling these coil out can takes a day or 2 especially the last one lol
Oh the last one...I have that same problem. Been running on 3 new plugs for 2 weeks. Waited for the special tool (knock-off version) and still can't get it out easily.
What did you torque the spark plugs to?
For NGK it was 20nm
@@alanclarke888 thanks 👌🏻👍🏻
Just done mine today after watching your video I used a small impact hun to get the centre bolt out. Great video thanks. 👍
Glad it helped you thanks for the comment
Will that help me to remove my EPC and the engine emissions? I have Audi a1 2011 TFI. I really need to remove those 2. Thanks
Do you have a link for the part please
Fantastic video. I have a 2011 passat cc this was exactly the same thanks for sharing Alan
Hi,I have a 2009 gttdi scirocco with no air con had full gas last week still not working and can’t feel compressor kick in when button is pressed, do you think this could be same fault is the engine the same as the golf? Going to have a look tomorrow see if Centre bolt is sticking out like yours.
Think it’s a good possibility, fingers crossed this is your issue as it is very common
Finally got round to doing this every thing came out great except one of the clutch spring screws rounded off but got the other two in and centre bolt in and locked down tight and all seems to work great so far? Just hope it holds up now cheers for great video
What size socket are the spark plugs ?
16mm
Gave this a go today, unfortunately the the centre and one of the other screws have rounded off 😢 Now i hear a slight grinding sound from the compressor plate whilst driving
Wow! Thanks a lot mate. I was really sure that i was going to pay 600€ for getting the compressor changed. This video saved me 580€ 😂. Awesome!
Outstanding mate, great to hear it worked for you 👍
Do you know what would cause the following symptoms in a 2012 VW Golf 6? -when the AC is set on cold, it blows hot air; when it is set on hot, it blows cold air -even on the highest power setting, although you can hear the sound, not too much air comes through the vents (the air filter is new) - when changing the settings as to the location (for example feet, or directed to the windshield), even less air comes out of the vents- one setting works best. -while rotating the temperature button you can hear the difference of inflow I need to mention thatt the car was a right hand drive and this year was changed to left. The mechanic that did it said that the AC unit needs to be one for left hand drive cars otherwise it won’t work. Is he telling the truth? I’ve had many problems with the car since. Unfortunately it was a mistake but now I am trying to fix as much as I can.
hi alan, mine is MK5 JETTA, AC compressor looks same! my AC has same symptoms as yours, you are lucky that compressor (inside pistons) are not stuck. so you only change the small disc to fix it. i am not sure my compressor is dead ir not. have you dismantled brake disc to this work or not? thanks. michael
No need to take anything off other than the road wheel and the wheel arch lining Michael. Hope that helps
@@alanclarke888 i just noticed that center bolt is different from yours. i will find way to send picture to u.
@@alanclarke888 Hi Alan, could u answer this question? i have unscrewed two of three outer bolts, the third one is unable to be dismantled due to stripped teeth. i use wrench to try to dismantle the center bolt in couter clock direction. but the wheel rotates couter clock wise simultaneously. does it mean the compressor inside was seized? that means i don't need to change the pulley disk any more, thanks. ruclips.net/video/-sScapFnyvw/видео.html&feature=share7
@@mikezhang6159 no that’s the difficulty I had which is why I had to wedge the wheel with the screwdrivers to put resistance against the shaft to stop it turning. Watch my video I did centre bolt first with the two screwdrivers to overcome this problem. Thanks
@@alanclarke888 'Hi Alan, feedback to you. I successfully dismantled all 3 outer screws(one was dismantled by using screw extractor and electric tool/hand drill). but the center bolt cannot be dismantled even by using electric hand drill! i think it may mean the compressor is seized( locked up) inside. center bolt should be unscrewed in counter clockwise, right? I drove it to repair workshop where the mechanic has lift platform and tools to change the whole compressor!
Thanks! Have to check this on my Octavia tomorrow.
The center bolt was missing for me. Splines stripped so a new part from autodoc for 13€ and the ac work 👍
Thank you very much all very clear and understandable I will follow your example, I will also replace this part😊
Ji alan, hope you are well, What is yhe part called ?
Hi just put the part number in the description into ebay or amazon you’ll find it
@@alanclarke888 abit of a problem i dont k ow the part number 🤣
Hi, how did you lock the compressor for tightening the center bolt when reassembling?
Hi I was able to tighten it without the compressor turning as the pulley was locked with the new splines on the new part against the force of engine compression.
Thanks Alan, so do you have the ignition on and ac switched on to engage the clutch?
Alan Clarke do you have any details where you got the replacement part from please
hi there, if you follow the instructions in my comments you will find plenty on eBay etc. just copy and paste the search phrase as above and again here... air Conditioning Compressor Repair A/C Delphi Clutch 5N0820803 For Seat Skoda VW
A huge thanks ! I was more than willing and accepted my fate that I should change my compressor until I saw this video ! Using an impact gun the clutch screws came out super easily ! Thanks to you I will have cold air this summer.
thanks for the comment glad it helped
Thank you mate for an excellent video . Great patience. You should be a college instructor. Great help. God Bless you.
That’s very kind of you to say and I am glad it helped you out Charles. 👍
I send overwhelming thanks from Korea.
I am glad to have helped you out
I have a MK6 GTI. The A/C system has a leak in it. Despite having the dealer attempting to diagnose it three times over the years, they can't find the leak. What is the most likely component of the A/C system on these cars to spring a leak?
What about some copper slip on the plug threads?
I didn’t do that as it can effect the torque I believe and it isn’t recommended in the service guide.
@@alanclarke888 Thanks. I looked at NGK statement that says that its plugs use plated coatings on the threads to prevent corrosion. Also mentions lube can result in over-tightening. I suppose I'd better stop doing it then!
Great guide. How many grams did you use to recharge the system?
Thank you, as I recall it was 475
@@alanclarke888 at what point of the final part of recharging did you open the high pressure side on the valve block?
Great video my AC not working going to check this thank you 👍
Alan - you're a legend, I never messed with anything like this in my car before, but due to the blazing heat I was almost passing out behind the wheel - not only did this fix my AC, but my confidence has flourished. Suddenly grew an extra 3 inches overnight, my sparce facial hair has grown into a full beard, and I've started using brake cleaner in the shower instead of my old Dove shampoo. Thanks a bunch! 😆😆
Hahah that’s a great reply and I’m impressed you using brake cleaner to wash, I drink it over ice with a coke so there’s something to aim for 😂😂
Alan, an excellent video, thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience. John
Thank you so much for your video. Even the removal of the old piece was well explained and saved me a lot of hassle. You just saved me some €1200 which an independent quote for the repair!
I’m really pleased this video is still helping people, thanks for taking the time to comment
Well done Alan, my Air Con worked last summer but went to switch it on a few weeks ago and there was no cold air, took my car to my local kwik fit for a re-gas and they told me that there was a problem with the compressor. after watching your video i purchased a new clutch plate and have just fitted it. The old one had no no splines left and my air con is now working again... thanks very much. Top Man!
Outstanding, it’s great to hear it solved your problems
Thank you so much
Pleasure mate glad it helped you
Thanks very much! Saved me a lot of ££s! Absolute ace fix for an hour's work and £15!
Thanks Paul appreciate the reply I’m pleased it worked for you too
Before you changed the clutch did you hear the compressor click as if it was working?? Mine doesn't click when I press the button on the dashboard
Air Conditioning Compressor Disc Clutch Repair Kit for VW GOLF Audi 5N0820803A….. couldn’t see this info in the comments so here it is. Just had a quote from vw ( £1000 - after they didn’t pick this fault up in the ac service that they sold me, I’ll have a look when I pick the car up and see if this is my problem. Fingers crossed the pump isn’t seized!!!!
How do you determine the clutch is the problem? I have a 2014 tdi where the ac just stopped. Changed low pressure switch, and put gauges on it and pressure (static) seem ok. I changed rcv valve a couple of years ago and it was fine since then until now. Thanks
