For cleaning dust, going over how to open Yashica T4 front plate.

Take your own risk on opening any camera up! On this Yashica T4, it's not difficult. It's an easy maintenance. From inspecting what's underneath the front cover, I didn't see any ribbon cables. That may be a good sign, considering some of the Contax T2 having the ribbon cable issues.

A Brief Pentax LX Camera Overview

The Pentax LX cameras were made from 1980 to 2001. They were the flagship cameras. According to the online source, there were 9 variants, and some parts are not interchangeable. This makes repair difficult because it's hard to source the proper parts. However, these camera are very solid. I think they will last for a very long time without any major repairs.

This is probably the ugly duckling of the Rolleiflex offerings. Due shutter speed design is probably less complicated to fail. If you look at it at a different angle, it is probably the most advanced box camera. I think, you should only get it if it's cheap because it's hard to find anyone wanting to work on it. In the event it fails, it's probably best to replace it then repair it.

Converting Leica Summicron R 50mm F2 lens to Nikon F mount

The process is actually fairly simple. The only issue is, if you want to shoot with a smaller aperture than f4, the camera's split image focusing aid won't work and the viewfinder gets dark. If you shoot with the camera on the tripod, you can always focus with the lens wide open and then stop the lens down and then shoot. A couple of months ago I purchased an M1. Ironically, it is part of the "1050" - 1962 batch. I find that most of my pictures are taken at 10 feet or greater, so I do not have to worry too much about focus. I own several other cameras including the Bessa L which does not include a viewfinder. Over time you get used to calculating distance. Higher ISO film does help but is not necessary. I have three lenses, a 50mm, 35mm and 28mm (with its own rangefinder). I have been extremely impressed with the quality of the camera and the quality of my photos. I also own a first edition Leicaflex and share the lenses between the cameras. Thank you for providing the introduction to the Leica M1.

    All K1000s have a split-image rangefinder... the SE screen is special because it's a 45º angle split. And the Fujica has a lock pin to enable full-aperture metering with their EBC Fujinon lenses, a feature that was expected by the early '70s. That's basically why Pentax moved to the K-mount.

    The only problem I had with a Fuji 645 is a sticky rangefinder on my GS645S. Nothing you have to worry about ;o] The MTL 5 unfortunately needs a mercury battery PX625 or a Wine Cell. With LR or SR batteries, the meter will give you false readings. You probably know that already. The Bessa TM is a dream! I don't think actually replacing the mirror will be much of a problem. However, adjusting it precisely will be difficult. Good luck! Looking forward to seeing whether it worked or not. This camera definitely deserves to be repaired! Never had a T90. I really like the design by Luigi Colani. (The only FD Camera I've ever had was a AE1 Program that I've lent to a friend in the 90's. She went on a backpacking trip in Ireland, and one day, she left the camera in her tent, unattended, while going for a hike. When she got back, it was gone. Thechnically, she still owes me a camera and 28, 50 and 135 mm lenses.)

    • @wei2shoot79
      @wei2shoot79 3 месяца назад

      I think my friend's had the same issue. Sticky rangefinder. I don't know what he did for fixing it. Next time I see him, I will ask him. Yes, I know about the battery issue. For these manual mechanical cameras, I just use the light meter app on my phone. I agree, adjusting mirror will need some precise work. I think as long as the angle of the mirror is not changed, the focusing accuracy will be fine. On the Olympus parts camera, I will ask the repairman to double check the position of the mirror before removing it. I think the mirror on the Bessaflex will be at the same location. The T90 is pretty cool, at least I think so. The actually camera is thinner than the EOS-1. I think it's probably the most advanced camera for the FD mount. I also have a Canon F-1 original. That camera is pretty solid but I think the T90 has better focusing accuracy. I'm sorry about your Canon AE-1, you may have to ask him to get you the replacement :)

    • @OriginalTLab3000
      @OriginalTLab3000 3 месяца назад

      @@wei2shoot79 The sticky rangefinder is easy to fix. Only three screws and the winder knob hold the camera's top. One slider on the left hand side has to be cleaned and maybe oiled. The rangefinder can then be adjusted vertically and horizontally with two screws. But I brought my GS645S to the repair shop anyway, because it is somehow my most important camera and I prefer the pros to work on it. Not because I use it that much or because it so good (which it is). Well, I haven't been on a proper vacation since 1999. And one day I thought: If I could only take one camera an a vacation with me, which one would it be? I chose the GS645S and every time I hold it, it's like a promise that one day I will see Japan or the Carpathian Mountains or the Scottish North Coast. And when I finally go there, that camera has to be ready.

    Made during 21 years, 9 variations, with the same name ??? I never understood (back "then") why it was so little known ! So now with that I understandv even less. (Minolta XM I finally got the (right?) hint that they suffered week shutter curtain) (I was pro with Nikon F2, F3, F4,F5, After they had stopped production, I was amazed by Canon's F1 (overF1n) feel of it, so impressive, yet also was quite "unknown". I also thought sometimes Olympus OM 3 Ti should really have been on my radar then, with (however only) some 3-4 specific lenses), but it never occurred to me. Pentax however had such many openly aficionados, but never with this one. Because of untidy-looking (casted) numbers on the dial? Next to Leica R, Contax (Yashica) was the one looking like overtaking for the 'lonely serious' out-of-the-box photographers...

But that's it. I don't want retro grip-less style because that style is really bad IMHO of course. I'd love a Z6ii body and CFE card slot with dials to change my settings. Nothing else retro appeals and I grew up on film camera bodies. Why does a camera with dials on it have to be retro in every other way? Why cant we just have a thoroughly modern digital camera with dials to change settings instead of scroll wheels. Just my opinion of course

      @@weizhang6979 Aha! Funny you should say that. I love my F4. Now if only it had a digital sensor! Haha.

    I own a considerable number more Nikon film cameras than you are showing off and I have been using them since 1982! I also own both the Nikon Zfc and the Nikon Zf cameras and I totally disagree that the Zfc is "plasticky". There is nothing "plasticky" about the Zfc other than the baseplate, which could be better: the rest of the body is metal. The Zfc is much lighter and smaller than the Zf. The sensor is smaller as it is an APS-C rather than full frame, but it is a great camera. I love this style of camera, and I also have a Nikon Df. All three cameras are great. Whilst the Zfc is not plasticky, the Zf is more robust, but this comes at the cost that it is bigger and heavier and costs more money.

      Thank you for taking your time to comment. I appreciate the differences in opinion. It’s okay you have more Nikon cameras. All good. I grew up actually shooting Canon. Back to the the cameras. This may unfair to the ZFc because the level of expectations on it is different than other digital cameras. I personally have had a lot of fun shooting with my Fuji film consumer cameras, like the XTxx. On these cameras, they have plastic top and bottom plate, which is okay. As you know, I do have enough cameras to use and I don’t need another digital camera. There has to be a good reason for me to want another camera. Nikon ZFc, it builds like a classic Nikon FM or FE, so when I pick it up, I expect it to feel like these cameras, and I don’t. Like I said, this is probably unfair to the ZFc. My personal expectations on cameras is different than someone who is looking for his/her first and only camera. If someone hand me a ZFc, I will have fun using it. If I can have a choice to pick one camera to use, between the Zf and ZFc, I would prefer the Zf. Like you said, it’s more solid.

      Wish the Zfc had IBIS.

    What an awful video. Way too much time spent with the intro and then the fake 'rebel' and blase stuff. Toss the paperwork away, 'no-one reads that'. Really? Then the strap, 'I am not a strap man'. What a hero, Never dropped a camera yet. Then the hood, more rubbish chat. At that point I gave up. First and last visit here.

      I don’t use lens hood on zooms. They add to the bulk plus when they are turned around for storage, I have to take them off to use the manual focus ring. I was hesitated on the hood in the video because I do use it when I shoot with primes.

      Thank you for the feedback. This is my vlog tho. I’m not a professional reviewer nor getting paid to provide any contents. There are some information can be good for some people and maybe not you. I don’t read the manual because I had been shooting since the 90s. You can though. I also don’t use straps and yes I have never dropped any cameras. To me, it’s about being consistent. If you are a strap user, be the strap user. If you don’t, then don’t. Sometimes camera drop happens when you get distracted and you think you have a strap on but you don’t. Straps take some room in a camera bag. They also can catch on things when I have my cameras on tripods.

      I personally think it’s a good video, maybe instead of bashing on people who are just trying to enjoy their hobbies you can focus on more productive things, constructive criticism is fine but when you’re being nasty is when it crosses the line from having good intentions to just being nasty for the hell of it. You can have your opinions on anything you want just don’t be a jerk about it. “First and last visit here” sorry that this content isn’t for you but I’m glad that you won’t be here to spread more negativity and hate. Also maybe you could think before you send hate to people, I don’t think you’d like it if someone was being hateful on a video you make about something that you’re clearly passionate about. Have a good day and maybe reflect on how your words can affect people. Or better yet, develop self control and try not to ruin someone’s day with nasty words. ❤
