Beginning at 10:22 is the most ethereal, uneartherly Music I've ever held audible witness to. The rise of the Violins, in four octaves, the trills in the Celli and Violas...that BIZARRE conversation between two Flutes...as if the winds of the heavens are dancing in coalescence..Music of the subconscious here...of the UN-conscious in like. I envision Van Gogh's "Starry Night" here. They dual forms in both tangible and audible art synch in perfection. The key of B Minor is a wash, a watercolor-like blur of Blue. As is the work in azure saturation by Van Gogh. I cannot flee the Synesthesia, it tortures me daily. Colors have genders, sounds, ages and personalities. Sounds have the same. B Minor is my brother. He is good to me as is the Hunter Green D2. Solid. Masculine. My walls. My friends. If we could rid ourselves of A4, I'd be grateful. She is a diva-minded wench. But her sisters grow to Maroon in the lower octaves, higher octaves to baby pink. I need Wagner's "Prelude to Lohengrin" to live, so I will tolerate A4. Anyone understand this? Amazing performance here. Shostakovich...I love you. I hate you. I mostly love you.

Und ich dachte, meinen Schosta gut zu kennen. Nein. Diese 6. ist eine echte Entdeckung. Eine Sinfonie für viele Solo- Bläser mit Streicherbegleitung koennte man sie nennen. Wunderbar

Somptueuse œuvre. Le meme Sibelius nous a laissé des poemes symphoniques et autres symphonies aussi majestueux. Je trouve qu on ne le joue pas assez en France. Dommage

Very interesting language.

Sound is slightly behind, quite disturbing especially in the third movement.

It took me a long time to come around to this conductor, but I have to say, I have never heard him perform anything that I disapprove of. Altogether, really a wonderful conductor, in my view. He is always steady and under control and really gets a great sound out of every conductor he conducts, despite looking like Putin...poor fellow!

Very dramatic ending. Perhaps a bit overdone in the fast section before the end ... but top marks for doing something different with an amazing piece of music.

Quelle merveille! Cette version de la 6ème est d'une telle intensité, l'orchestre nous emmène au coeur de l'oeuvre avec un tel mélange de sincérité et de joie ( les sourires des musiciens, le plaisir de jouer la partirion...) qu'on n'a qu'une seule envie: reprendre au début et recomencer le voyage. Merci pour cet extraordinaire moment de grâce, à vous tous.

I think this is the happiest Shostakovich symphony (the finale is truly happy, unlike in the 5th for example). What a great performance

I think she does Shostakovich & Mahler particularly well with great & joyous intent and enthusiasm, has helped me realize how much Shostakovich uses the flute to carry his symphonies to such heights of delight, and is Very Cute... 🎉 ❤ 😘

I attended a performance of this sympony yesterday performed by the Münchner Philharmoniker conducted by Tugan Sokhiev. It was a beautiful evening, contrasted by Mahler's 4th Symphony. Both can be felt as "spring symphonies", one written by one who found his place, happy - the other emontionally torn, threatened in his very existence. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this recording, too. What a great piece of music!
