Going to PEI for a Men's Lobster camp in early October on the north shore and I am the designated fisher person, so exploring the striper action. My experiences have all been in Maine and Mass., and seems like I always get a mackerel or striper. This is gonna be new, but plenty of beaches, jetties and harbors to explore with the tides. Good to see some first hand views and fishing.

You should use a high low rig with a 3 ounce weight. Or a single hook on a 18 inch letter and a 3 ounce weight on a slider I do well on both these set ups.

You need to buy gimbals for the boys. The way the youngster is holding the rod may damage the family jewels

Fellow Ontario angler here (Muskoka). I was in PEI this past summer the first week of July, I fished the same area as you and caught some dandy stripers all on topwaters, never even bothered with bait. It’s an awesome fishery and I’m looking forward to my next trip as well.

This is so underrated!! Btw since i do live on pei, heres a tip i learned, Most of the time, the deeper the water the smaller the fish. I dont know why they do this, but thats something i learned.

With the installation of the powered splitter you shouldn’t need the mushroom antenna. Side note, I installed it anyway behind the nav station.

Yeah nice configuration and WIFI back to a tablet running Navionics makes it so easy. Unfortunately as of Feb 2023, the XB-8000 is discontinued. Had I known a user could input their own MMSI #, I would have bought this model last season. The replacement brochure looks software complicated but has a integrated antenna splitter.
