      Hi Caleb, thanks for reaching out! I would recommend learning the G Major/ E minor key next (they have the same notes). For now, before recording your vocals, I recommend creating your chords in either the C Major/A minor or G Major/E minor and then sing your vocals in the key of your chords. This will help you still create music you love, while you're still learning new keys. My 9-Week Track Builder Bootcamp will mainly be focused in the key of C Major/A Minor, since it is for folks with no previous music experience. But, you'll learn additional theory, piano basics, and secrets that will help you in the long term learn to create music you're proud of. It's free and starts tomorrow. I've got limited spots available, so if you're interested in signing up, click here: lady-lobster-music-lab.kit.com/9-week-track-builder-bootcamp

    Is being music composer same as being a music producer ? I search for compose tutorials but it only shows production tutorial

    • @MrsLadyLobster
      @MrsLadyLobster 11 дней назад

      Hello Parham! A composer focuses on creating original music, typically writing melodies, harmonies, and arrangements. Their work is often centered on crafting musical ideas for performances, films, games, or other media types (like orchestral scores). A music producer oversees the recording and production process of a song or album. They collaborate with artists, manage technical aspects like sound design and mixing, and ensure the final product meets creative and professional standards. Both of these overlap in certain ways. For example, as a producer, I also compose the elements within a song as well as record them. Does this make sense?

    Im pretty new to production and had a comment about genre choice. There's no choice to make really because what I've found is that the genre chooses you. Even though I enjoy many types of music, my favorite has always been heavy metal. When I make music in a DAW, the first thing that organically came out of me is some kind of synth/orchestral hybrid. I have zero desire to make a metal or rock song, even though it's usually what's blasting through my earbuds if im at the gym. I just love MAKING music with pianos, strings and synths.

I'm working on making some videos related to creating melodies and other elements. In the meantime, I hope this helps: I like to try humming my melody ideas while listening to my chord progression. Thanks you very much for the whole series "Make Song in 5 Days", today I've just finish this one , and it really helped me learning the different functionnality of FL Studio! It is a funny coincidence that you started this series when I wanted to start composing with it. In the past I was using LLMS, an open source software, but I had limitations and it was not easy to use. I have one question, about making variations. For exemple here you keep the same pattern for every instrument, and let's say I want to make a variation for the melody. What I'm doing right now, is to create a new pattern in the playlist, then copy paste the melody from the other pattern (the first one), and now I can change it. But I also create a new track to put this new melody( so this new pattern). I would like to know how you manage this case, and if it's a good practice to create a new tack for every variations, or maybe just keep one track name "Melody" and then drag and drop the different pattern ? Thanks again for you hard work, your videos are really helpful and qualitative 🙂

    • @MrsLadyLobster
      @MrsLadyLobster Месяц назад

      Hi Legendary! I would first like to say thank you so much for watching the series! I also started music production with LMMS, and like you said, I had limitations too! When making melody variations, you don't have to keep making a new pattern manually. I Iike to place the pattern I want to vary on a track, then left click the mini keyboard icon on the top left corner of the pattern piece, and click "make pattern unique." This automatically makes a copy of the pattern that I can edit (with all the same instruments and notes), then adjust the piano roll with the different notes I want to use in the variation. Does this help explain it? I'm so glad that my videos are helpful to you, and, again, I really appreciate you taking the time to watch them!

    • @legendaryxelar327

      @@MrsLadyLobster What a coincidence for LLMS ! Thanks you for the tips on "make pattern unique", it's exactky what I needed, it's a gain of time for sure! I think I'll create different pattern like this but keep placing them on a same Track to avoid having too much of them By the way, for the FLEX plugin, and also the Sytrus plugin, do you know if there is some good tutorial that explain how to change some preset to create our own "sound" ? This is what I struggle the most now : I have a sound in my head, but none of the preset are exactly what I'm thinking , and sound properties is pretty hard to undertand. I try to change the setting in the plugin, but I'm doing that blindy, without knowing what I do lol I don't know if you plan doing a video on this ? Or if you have some tips I'll take it !

      @christosevangelidis7937 Месяц назад

      @@MrsLadyLobster Yes, the bass is unique in vibrations. Thanks for wishing me! Piano is totally different so I needed to try it and now I am excited. Bass is so cool and I think it could be a better choice for you because guitar is more similar to piano in many ways. My tip about bass is to keep the groove going no matter what. Playing repetitively is nice. And it's more preferable to play on the kick drum and let the snare breathe if this suits in the song. In general, I believe that the bass becomes more impressive when your phrases have nice and clever pauses. And ghost notes. But even the basslines without any pauses have a different charm. Also, by applying a fat and full in sound effect you can play even just one or two notes without being boring or inadequate. Bass is power.

      @@midnaslament I totally get that! When I first started I had a hard time too, but you've got this! Just keep creating. That's what got me to where I am now. Let me now if you have questions on the concepts in the video:)Also, I'll keep releasing more resources to help out as well! By the way, what made you want to jump into music production (i.e., making music for your content, or on a journey to become a music producer, etc)?

      @ i’ve always been super interested in production particularly in middle school and high school. it wasn’t until i listened to earl sweatshirt’s some rap songs that inspired me to dive into production. j dilla is another inspiration

    Very cool project -- love the concept and result. Now, since it's EDM, as in 'dance music' - I'd probably wanna make it hit harder... but, still, very cool.

    • @MrsLadyLobster
      @MrsLadyLobster 2 месяца назад

      Thank you! I totally see your point on the dance music side...what would you do to make it 'hit harder?'

    • @noonesbiznass5389
      @noonesbiznass5389 2 месяца назад

      @@MrsLadyLobster Hmm, maybe faster tempo and deeper booming bass lines perhaps... that said, it's hard to make Moonlight Sonata into a dance song because it is, by its nature, a slow meandering piece... His Pathetique sonata would be a good piece to try maybe!

    • @MrsLadyLobster
      @MrsLadyLobster 2 месяца назад

      A very interesting analysis you've given! I just looked into the Pathetique Sonata (No. 8 Opus 13) you mentioned, and the tempo/overall vibe does seem a lot easier to fit into an EDM piece. It sounds like you've been playing piano for a while...am I right?
