Arcade & Attica 18 Returns To The Rails!
Hello and welcome back to another video. The date is September 28th, 2024 and we are in the town of Arcade, New York to witness and document history along the rails.
The Arcade & Attica railroad recently placed their 104 year old steam locomotive #18 back into service after an extensive rebuild. The #18 is a 1920 2-8-0 locomotive built by the American Locomotive Company (Alco). After a seven year hiatus, we would be able to document 18's inaugural revenue excursion since it's rebuild. The Arcade & Attica is currently the only railroad in New York State with regularly scheduled steam excursions.

this is regular freight service, they operate maybe once or twice a week and have already kicked off their passenger season.

Nice catches and video! Curious, what time did the Buffalo Southern trains come rolling through Blasdell? Have never been out this way before, doing some recon of the area to try and plan how to spend the day while in town, would definitely be cool to see while in town.
