INSTALLING KW HAS KIT | BMW F80 M3 / F82 M4 / F87 M2

Thought I would record a video on one of the most common mods for the F8X chassis. KW HAS kit is an affordable option for a more aggressive stance while retaining the EDC functions. These are a relatively straight forward install, but if you have any questions let me know IG: OnlyyDans

As most of you know, mid to higher milage e36's suffer from 5th gear lean. In this video I will cover how to DIY and fix an issue that BMW has bulletined. You will need the special BMW drift tool set to complete this properly. As far as the seals, you can service those with common tools. BMW e36 Oil Pump Rebuild s/m5X
Просмотров 6 тыс.Год назад
This video shows how to fully rebuild the oil pump on 6cyl e36's. All m50, m52, s50, s52 engines are the same process. The rotor and gear are specific for late models vs early model cars. You CANNOT use an s50 gear and rotor in an s52 pump, and vice versa. The obd2 cars have a rotor that is thicker than the early production cars, thus not allowing it to fit the housing. If you have any question...

A slight jump into the assembly of the BMW s52 engine. Just tried to throw some pointers here and there, so it's not super in depth. If you guys have any questions or want me to dive deeper on certain things just let me know. I have a zf 5spd and oil pump rebuild coming soon Appreciate the support. IG: OnlyyDans

What's up everyone! This is my channel intro video since everyone loves the IG posts. Kicking it off with an s52 refresh, along with a ZF 5 speed... Let me know what you guys want to see in future vids, and I appreciate you for watching!
Great video!! 👏👏 On my car there is some corrosion on the rotating rod; From watching this it would seem I could remove the rod by removing the bolts going through it while leaving the throttle bodies attached to the car to clean it? If I could that would be brilliant thanks 👍👍
Excellent video! It would be very helpful to show how you cleaned out and lubed the roller bearings. This would seem to be very important if your throttles are sticky throwing a code. Did you shoot them in place with a cleaner? Can the bearings be removed with a pick?
What engine arms did you use?
Great video. I watched all your S54 videos. I need to do my vanos, and have a question: in every other video I saw on vanos, they do this “pre-tension” technique, where they don’t install the vanos unit all the way, leaving 5 mm gap; then tighten two bolts per hub, then release them 1/4 turn, then they tighten everything. You are not doing that. Yet, you have perfect timing by just allowing the hubs turn while tightening vanos unit to head.
This is the same question I had. Without the pretensioning you might have some "slack" when inserting the vanos where the linear motion doesn't move the hub I guess. It seems like it doesn't matter if you do it as long as you end up with the correct result.
Hey, if I may ask, for a general rebuild of a running(good) engine with very high miles, how much $ would a job like this cost?
Mate, do you know where to find the throttle body plate screws?
Hi! Thanks for the video, I was looking for the torque specs for the thrust bearing flange, (16:42) do you remember it? Thank you!
24nm, but I usually just go to 16ftlbs
Thank you! 👊🏻
Can you rebuild mine?
@@vmasslach yes
@@OnlyyDans i don’t know how to set that up to be honest
Thank you for the excellent video. Where in INPA is the option to open the ITB's for measurement?
Sorry, I misspoke in the video a lil bit. You can activate the servomotor via DIS or MoDiC. You can use INPA to read and clear adaptations (Select "Clear adaption values selectively" then F3 key is "Throttle Valve Adaptation"). In DIS under OPERATIONS you select Engine Control > Then under Engine Control you select Actuator, then Actuator DMS. This will communicate with the DME. After that, select optin #3 which is Service Functions, and then #8 on the next screen which is "Set el. throttle valve controller full-load stop". Just follow the instructions but it'll say to make sure the key is in position two
Hey! Really good job this guy knows how to make a video. Well explain
thanks man!
Great content! Keep them coming. Is this cutring headgasket made for oversized 87.5 pistons? Seems like they all say "87.5mm bore (for use with 87mm pistons)". If thats the case, which brand/ part number did you go with?
About to tackle a Vanos job myself and out of everything I've seen, this video is by far the most detailed/easiest to understand. Awesome job!
That’s awesome, thank you so much. I’m glad it’s helping out, that’s my goal with these longer vids

Hi do you change bearings or leave them in?
@@felixchristensson2603 I couldn’t source the right spec needle bearings so I do my best to clean these out and prep them with grease
@@OnlyyDans Did you need to protect the bearings during vapor honing?
@@robgill48 absolutely! The more debris you get in there, the harder it is to clean out. You want them as smooth as they can be
@@OnlyyDans Thank you for the reply
@@OnlyyDans if I could piggy back off of this, what did you use to cover the bearing to protect while spraying. Thank you for the video it’s dope. I’ve learned a lot from your s54 build videos

@@focusonme8498 appreciate that! I’m here to help
Nice videos. What is your source of information for getting all the specifications for the S54, like torque specs, clearances, etc?
Thanks man, and a lot of info is available for free but you can always look at the BMW TIS service manuals
great
Ahhh i thought the cam caps were torqued to 10nm.
Believe it or not, a little lighter on the cam caps doesn’t hurt anything. I’ve found that s52’s sometimes pull or break the studs holding the cams. Sometimes I go below the torque value depending on the miles on the engine just to be safe
Can you show your vapor blasting and zinc plating process?
@@Voges2023 I’ll do my best next time
ha spotted a HVFCU location in the background. i'm in the area too with a F80. do you work on cars professionally? seem knowledgeable and well versed compared to most.

Happy to hear that, thanks for the feedback!

I really like the level of detail you give to this rebuild. I just finished rebuilding the itbs last weekend and only now I came across your channel and saw this video. If you can answer 2 questions, it would be great because I'm confused and I'm afraid I've done something wrong. Each itb(2-6) has 3 washers, 2 identical and 1 very thin. You said that the 2 identical ones are directional. What do you mean because I didn't see any difference, they are perfectly flat, not conical. Am I missing something? If you put a light behind can you see the light on the other side on the edge of the flap?Thank you very much and I hope we will see more good videos like this in the future!
@@87wlo sorry I didn’t see this sooner. Believe it or not, I’ve taken apart older ITB’s and newer ITB’s and there’s very slight differences between the two. If your washers aren’t directional, then you’re good to go. As far as the light, cylinder 1 is always the furthest open (doesn’t seal perfectly, and this is normal). If you’ve followed all my instructions with the throttle set screw and adjusted them properly, and they’re within spec then you’re good to go. The computer and engine will run in the factory parameters without issue
Have to comment and say great video. I've been struggling to get my vanos timmed up perfectly since doing a headgasket job and can see a few things I've overlooked. Thank you
Glad I could help man, thanks for the feedback 🤝🏼
Do you offer rebuilding s54 itb's? I have a set id love to get rebuilt.

Thank you for taking your time and making informative videos for us really enjoying it,just one question though how do you clean water jackets.
Would you work a Porsche 996 Turbo?
I would, send me a message on Instagram
What do you charge for this service?
Depends on the condition because that will equate to time. Also if I'm purchasing sensors or anything else it would affect the price point as well
@@OnlyyDans How many hours roughly on this particular one if you weren't filming?
How much would you think a s52b32 with 245k is worth?
Great video, I’m just about to do this on my S54, do you ever match mark the ITB’s to the head for better flow?
@@db74ful not worth the time since the throttle plates are still the same size. If you buy Dinan bodies, they’re ported with bigger plates to compensate, but expensive. S54 head already has a really nice cnc’d intake port, I doubt porting the backside of the housing will give you any benefits worth the time and labor
@@OnlyyDans thanks for the comment, I’ve had the head’s been polished and ported so it may be worth offering them up just to have a look see, but you maybe right. I’ll look at those Dinan bodies.
