When I listened to this for the first time and until I met chert, I thought this sound was coming of a tribe that was playing many instruments at the same time. I always wondered what species would be in the Twins.

I think it says a lot about Riebeck that he is ostensibly a coward and yet is exploring the scariest planet (hourglass would be fine as long as you keep a watch on the time while exploring caves, they dont know enough about dark bramble, whats left is a 90% sure ocean landing and home. Also, Anglerfish positions don't reset during a loop and just suspend their animation, when you leave their "room". I found out the hard way. I entered a teleport seed and steered a bit to fast. When the Anglerfish came close I backed up back into the Seed, just to be teleported outdside Dark Bramble again. Made my way back to the right seed before time runs out. As I enter the Anglerfish was still in the same position with its mouth wide open and ate me as soon as I entered again.

He sounds like he's at the edge of crying. Imagine being on the Alterrock for that long, and it isn't that comfy there as well. Mabye being in Giant's deep wouldn't be bad (if you're in a loop) but Esker is just alone. SPOILER: i wonder how esker hasnt gone mad yet, same for feldspar. Like seriously, how is feldspar still sane???

Funnily enough, I feel like the eerieness of End Times this early in development sort of fits the tone. There is no way to save this world, or any others that may come after it... the means to achieve those goals don't exist, since the Nomai never made the technology needed to explore the solar system, find out all the mysteries, gather the required puzzle pieces, and make one last dash, using those pieces to finish the game, all within 22 minutes. Heck, the closest thing to the technology they hypothetically could invent is a weird anomaly with the player's character. Even then, the ambience feels bleak and pointless at you purely see your memories play back to you in a dream. If only they had more time to develop, if only they had more resources to spend on their projects, if only... ... the full game exists, it costs $25 when it's not on sale, and with that money you get to help those races finish up their projects, you let them achieve their goals at the last few minutes of the universe, and for an additional $15 in the form of a DLC, the player character's race uses it to construct a new museum exhibit, alongside repairing the radio tower on their home planet, letting you inadvertently discover the last few secrets of this universe. In this alternative timeline, the music is still somewhat bleak in a way, but has more hope to it. End Times has a few extra notes and instruments, the final note doesn't carry on until the supernova occurs, and the song 22 Minutes is now less of a bleak ambience, and more of a wonderous, hopeful ambience, culminating with one final bang, like resurfacing from deep underwater.

Just played the alpha myself, and I can agree with many that while the current Dark Bramble is terrifying in itself, the older version being a gray cloudy abyss of thorny vines floating in space is even scarier, because it feels so out of place and even less welcoming

My first experience was actually with the alpha. Now that I'm actually playing the full game it's nice to see the old version again

First time I got jumpscared was actually a quabtum shard existing like RIGHT behind me in the quantum cave in ember twin

I guess 9:12 is the reason that they chose to make the map unusable in Dark Bramble in the full release.

Those little audio hiccups at 0:10 and 0:58 among others kinda ruin it.

I love how when we finally finish the game and just listen to this, all of instruments will play automatically in your head along with banjo. . Truly a game that you can play only”once”.
