    Seems like a big waste of time and material to have all that bulk inside, why not attach strap to the sides?

      That would certainly be an alternative. I felt the long strap would make it more sturdy and durable.

    how can I size it with different yarn sizes (a thicker tshirt yarn for example), how many stitches should I use to get it the same size as yours? I'm using a 9 hook

    • @caabcrochet
      @caabcrochet 2 месяца назад

      It's hard to know without doing it myself. You would need to just follow the instructions but stop when your panels are the correct size. Sizing of the panels is listed in the written instructions here: www.caabcrochet.com/crossbody-bag-crochet-pattern-belt-bag/. For the strap and the center panel you will just stitch until you get the width and length you want.

    Thank you for the video I never used that yarn it looks like its hard to crochet with. Because of the thickness

    • @caabcrochet
      @caabcrochet 2 месяца назад

      It is definitely more stiff than regular yarn. However, it is worth it for the shape and durability it creates for this kind of project.

    • @caabcrochet
      @caabcrochet 3 месяца назад

      Do you mean that you want the holder to get wider partway up, or do you want the whole thing wider from the base to the top? Or do you just need it taller?

    • @NguyetKhanhtran
      @NguyetKhanhtran 3 месяца назад

    • @caabcrochet
      @caabcrochet 3 месяца назад

      @@NguyetKhanhtran I do not know of a way to increase with the star stitch. I would think the best way to do it would be to switch to another basic stitch for a few rows that could incorporate some increases and then when you have the width you want, switch back to the star stitch.

      I am not super familiar with what milk cotton is. From googling, it sounds like it is not actually cotton. It is probably fine if you use it, but I am not familiar with the qualities. It might not be as easy to wash as cotton is.

    • @caabcrochet
      @caabcrochet 4 месяца назад

      You would need to find another way to attach the ends of your straps. Either a different kind of buckle, or you could sew the two ends together at the length you want the strap. It just wouldn't be adjustable.

    Maggie May Crochet has basically stolen this pattern from you and posted it on her channel 6 months ago. I've just come across it........I hate when people steal work without even giving acknowledgement to the original creator. It's literally your exact pattern. I don't get why it's so hard to give basic credit to a creator. It's just rampant in the artistic/fiber work space.

  • @CryBabyHoe

    I really tried to enjoy it, but this is overly complicated. The foundation stitches and jeopardizing the structural integrity by constantly cutting and restarting. Love the way it looks, but really not a fan of the pattern. I feel it could have been worked more and tested more to come up with a less complicated and more straightforward way of making it.

    So I just made one, stopping the video several times, and going back and watching it again to see where I messed up. I probably got my count off or something right at the get-go. I'm not using the same yarn you used, which might be the issue. I had some Yarn Bee Scrub-Ology 2.0 from Hobby Lobby, the kind that I call hairy yarn. LOL It's thinner than yours, I think. It formed itself into a little bowl when I finished, which will be fine. My fingers fit up into the curl and it stays on my hand pretty well when I'm using it, so I'd say I didn't fail completely. If it works it's not a fail, right? 🙂

    • @caabcrochet
      @caabcrochet 9 месяцев назад

      Interesting! I haven't tried that yarn yet, but would have thought it would get a similar result since I assume it is a little stiff like the stitch soak scrub yarn. It is a very different structure though, so maybe it comes out quite different. I'll have to try it myself because now I'm curious! :D Glad you can still use it even if its a little wonky! Thanks for taking the time to comment!
