I lived in Perth for 6 years. It's 3000 miles from anywhere, unless you call Adelaide somewhere.

You guys are going to be in for an interesting time, having not experienced a Perth summer yet. The place you're in should hopefully have good air conditioning.

Hi guys, to stand the best chance of getting what you want, at the price you want, I would suggest you visit realestate agents in the area you wish to rent in, and leave your details with them, because a lot of the time the owner is in a hurry and is happy not to advertise if the agent has people on their list already.....And just forget that comment, that's what happens when you jump the gun and comment before the video finishes lol....Happy you guys found an apartment, and can now settle and relax a little, well done. If you happen to get another car do not get Europe or Australian car. Your best bet is Japanese or Korean car. I would prefer Japanese because they are reliable. Good luck.

considering moving back to Sydney from the UK in October, hope all goes well its an incredible city. Check out sunset beach, you can get the bus from Manly up there. Theres a place you can hire boats from there too and a great fish and chip shop by it

A disproportionate number of migrants from the UK choose Perth over all the other cities in Australia. I don't know exactly why, but I could make a few guesses. Being in Perth right now is as cold and as wet as it gets. Most people from WA don't mind the change of season so much, as it starts getting particularly warm in spring, all the way through to autumn.

I came from Glasgow to live here to Aus 1 Aug 1985 - live at Coogee Beach - love every minute! beats the UK for everything! Hope you find what you are looking for.

I hope you are enjoying Australia. What do you think of the other side of the island so far? Will you be able to get up (north) along the coast, or will you head inland more? Going south is also nice, could you make it to Walpole or Seduna? Heading south will take you near the famous Margret River region that is famous for fine wines - definitely check them out, very yummy. If you head North, I would check out the Maritime Museum at Geraldton as it documents a most famous shipwreck and horrific story to be told in there. You will probably find when you are near the coast that it is very wind all the time, this is because the "Roaring Forties" swing in from the southwestern ocean. These are the trade winds that helped the dutch find Australia in the first place, and helped sailors come from Europe around the other side of the globe 2-300 years ago - including Cook. So keep a jumper with you. Are you going to check out Rottnest Island? You'll love that. Go for a swim, you'll love it.
