Join me for a little room refresh! Maybe you'll do your own room refresh along with me. This is typically what I do in between changing the sheets, which is often because of the dogs. When I shake out our comforter, I vacuum up all the dog hair afterwards, and little white roller is a hair remover that my SIL got me. It works wonders!

Loved your house tour! I too do an all out Victorian English Christmas, have been doing it for 33 years now and I never get tired of my Victorian theme. The Victorians, after all, praticaly invented Chrismas ie Charles Dickens CC
I live here, and her grave wasn't fenced or hedged in until maybe the late 90's or so. You could walk up and put things on her headstone. Bonaventure is a great cemetery.
This video came in perfect time! I live right of mass in New Hampshire only like an hour drive and a couple of friends and I are going this weekend to explore Salem in December and now after watching this, I know a lot of fun things to do! As far as Christmasy things so thank you

Loved your October recap! I can’t wait to visit Sleepy Hollow one day! We really took it easy this year! No pumpkin patches, no haunted houses, actually we didn’t even Trick or Treat- BUT - still had a really AMAZING and fun Halloween night with spooky movies, music, a scavenger hunt, spooky foods, and “witch’s potion” punch. I was so worried the kids would hate not trick or treating (we live way far from other houses), but they had a blast! I vow to plan better next year. 🤷🏻♀️ 🎃

I have been to Salem two times. First time in 2016 with my school during the weekend going into Halloween. It was way too crowded but I still managed to have fun. I went again last weekend. I had a great time and got to do more than my first visit. I will be going to Sleepy hollow next weekend to give it a try with an open mind. I definitely see the differences for sure. Both are a must I say especially since they have history.
I stayed here when it was a bed and breakfast . Patty the owner was fantastic . She dis a great job with the new renovation ❤

Sleepy Hollow celebrates it’s history and has a more positive aspect and therefore free concious perspective to do so. Salem has a dark, horroric history that the government at the time of the witch trials tried to cover up. The salem approach is to own and create a more positive narrative to the dark tragedies that occurred there. Live not far from Sleepy Hollow, visit often and study the Salem history of the witch trials. This is my assessment of why they are different foundationally.

Sleepy Hollow is a town full of history. You can visit the grave of the author. To The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. The horseman bridge. It would be fun to see. Sleepy Hollow in today's world. It looks like fun.

@@lala_looksnacks It depends what you’re trying to see. Most people park for the day and walk around. You CAN drive, and while there isn’t as much traffic as Salem, there is only one main road in and out so it does get congested unless you know your way around side streets. I would map out your stop in Sleepy Hollow based on what you want to see and then decide if you want to walk those distances between things or drive and risk sitting in traffic when you could have possibly walked. Some things are further like Lyndhurst or Irving’s former home so again it depends what you want to check out!
Hi just went to salem and the traffic is very busy ,plus salem is a tourist location ,sleepy hollow is alot quieter ,and more historical ,salem is too but its more tourist now than historical ,
Glad I found your video. I am super relieved that Sleepy Hollow isn't like Salem. Salem was such a tourist trap cash grab last year. Nobody in Salem wants you there they just want your money and then for you to leave. The fact it costs 50 dollars a day to park in Salem in October when any other month it is only 12 dollars really sets the tone for what a cash grab that town is. Thank you for all this information that most other people are not covering.
This is indeed so very heartwarming and so very wonderful and so very beautiful and so very adorable and this brings back such great memories of when I use to be a 90s kid and an early 2000s kid and I am a new subscriber as well:).
So I’m staying 45 min from Salem so I plan to drive to Salem park on some random street away from The crowds and Uber downtown do you recommend that?
It depends how far away you park. Most side streets as of the last few years have been permit parking only for residents. I’m not sure exactly how far you’d need to park but it’s worth a try. I would say to get into town early regardless that way you can try a parking lot or garage before they fill up if you can’t find a non permit parking spot.

This will be my 11th year in a row going to Salem. In fact I’ve been to sleepy hollow as well. The easiest way to say it, is that Salem is more commercialized. It doesn’t mean it’s bad, but hocus pocus has a huge impact to its popularity. If you like it more low key or a self guided tour sleepy hollow is great. I could even see it becoming as big as Salem. They would have to embrace the business model of Salem. I just don’t know if that is what they want.
I totally agree. I think when people visit sleepy Hollow, they also expect everything to be in one walking distance area like Salem with all the shops and restaurants in one place, and that’s just not the way the town is set up. I have noticed in recent years and especially this year that they’re adding more and more events every fall, probably because they realize it’s a big tourist attraction. They released the tentative calendar for this October and I’ve never seen more events on it than there are currently. We’ll see what happens over time! Enjoy Salem!! 🎃🍂🍁

@@kindacoolgreg 😬 it’s just one opinion-October is def. the most fun time to go but it’s not for everyone. Just make sure you have a plan, book everything in advance, and leave plenty of time to get from one thing to the next and to just relax and walk around a little! Oh and to avoid crowds on Essex St., walk along the side streets surrounding Essex. Have the most amazing time! 🎃
