Removing double sided tape or stickers from vehicles
Просмотров 2374 года назад
This is the easiest way I know how to remove double sided / two way tape from paintwork. It works well for stickers and other sticky residue too. Be sure to remove all grit from the area beforehand, and be mindful that the friction can damage paint that is already cracked, chipped or peeling. This sure beats using chemicals to dissolve the adhesives. Good luck.

VW Passat B6 Steering wheel swap and retrofit MFS components
Просмотров 54 тыс.4 года назад
In this video I replace the multi-function steering wheel on my Volkswagen Passat B6 with an upgraded unit from a Mk5 Golf GTI, except that the latter isn't multi-function. I detailed the steps involved in transferring the MFS components between both the wheels, as well as removal and reassembly process. Difficulty is 2/5 and the tools required are torx bit T20, spline bit M12, strong bar/power...

A basic guide to removing the front seats of a VW Touran 1T. Tools required are your choice of driver, an M12 spline socket, a T20 torx socket and blade/scissors. Total time to remove both front seats would be approximately 15 minutes. Difficulty level is 2/5.
Will bread trick or grease trick work after drilling
Thank you for this. I couldn't find any other information on FEBEST reliability anywhere. Glad I opted for the hopefully better quality Febi Bilstein part for my mazda6. Had no idea FEBEST were chinesium made parts.
Ha, thanks. I was pulling the red cord back hard, not lifting it up. Numpty.
Please what's the name of the screaw driver that fit in ?
Thanks 😊
They use these on the V6 2.8 B5/5.5 passats as well and i think Audi B7. The 1.8T uses the open ended version. I don't understand what they were thinking with this design. The shop manual doesnt say what to do either, it specifies the same KUKO 21/22 pullers as the open ended version with no explanation... I wonder what the dealers do. Thanks for the video.
Hope i can find them drill bits 🤞
That sounds like a south african accent...very cool
Thanks for the video
Best video I've seen on this. Thanks man!
Did you disconnect the battery in order to not activate the airbags?
Yes
Does this work in a 2019 VW Touran? Thanks!
Thank you!!!!
Thank you!!!!
is the pilot bearing exist only in DSG? i read somewhere that VW with Manual transmission don't need this pilot bearing but i'm not sure
Correct
Or , just remove the gearbox mounting and jack up the gearbox a bit
Thanks mate ❤️
Great video easy to remove for sure thanks for the info. I still don't know why vw didn't make them stow and go like the caravan lol
Where are you from? I want to try solve you problem
You should of shown the replacement.Im just wondering if it's built any better.Im wondering if the metal portion fatigued/cracked before the rubber failed and tore apart?
I've temporarily stuck the original on and it's amazing how much better the car drives. The metal is really thin and doesn't give the part any rigidity, so I don't think the metal failed first. In fact, the metal was holding the broken pieces of rubber together!
That's unfortunate they cut corners for these critical parts.
Very disappointing. I sent this video to them and never got a response.
How much space is behind the bearing to the crank?
I did not take any measurements at the time. Sorry. I'd estimate 5-7mm so you will feel the bit go through and hit the crank. keep checking - there isn't much risk of drilling into the crankshaft.
❤
Thank you so much my friend serious trouble that is
Happy to help
what happens if u cnt get the middle seat to lift up 😢
Folks.. Battery does not need to be disconnected when removing airbag. But if you do you're supposed to wait a few minutes before removing airbag. You WILL NOT have a warning light as long as you don't turn the ignition on. You also don't need to remove the cowling. Turning the steering wheel and undoing one spring, then turning it to the other side and undoing the other side. There's plenty of room from the top. And last. Steering wheel bolt isn't a stretch bolt. It only takes 50nm. No need for extra degree to tighten it..
Good video
Brill. Thanks for that
Brilliantly explained
hello, for the non-multi-rudder version, if I add the multi-rudder, what conversion is required?
Thank you my friend
Hey what’s the tool you use to pull the big bolt in the middle of the steering?
They are Multispline bits
My 2016 Touran does not have that red strap in Center of back. There is one on inner side but I definitely can not tilt my folded seat up and forward. Or remove it. I’m very frustrated. Wondering if it’s bolted to floor for sale in Japan. Why? So disappointed
Sorry I am not sure how it's done in the 2016 Touran but hopefully one of my viewers can advise you
Great video, how much harder to also do the clock spring and the SWCM to upgrade to a b7 passat wheel?
Sorry I have not done it myself but I'm going to suggest you have VAGCOM or a professional level tool to ensure that you can code the new module.
I'm still coming back to watch this from time to time :D
Thanks for the Demo. I got a Sienta n this laborious exercise is way behind me. ..
You're welcome. Sienta is an interesting car. I owned one briefly but it was not a car I enjoyed driving mostly due to the transmission.
Thank you very much
Are tose torx bits? The bigger one on the car look different with mor teath? The one you call m10 is it soecial bolt?
It's not torx. It's a spline /triple square
Thanks! Easy does it!
I wanted to know if the 2016 model has a wheel well under the rear seats.. It seems this 2007 model has the wheel well.. I would imagine it'll also be in the 2016. Space for a Gas Tank or a Subwoofer are my options.
did i have airbag failure on instrument after get back seats
You should not turn the key on while the seats are unplugged
@@troubledtinkerer ok thanks
Is it the same procesure if i decide to mount for the first time. Thanks
Yes, if the vehicle was originally fitted with rear seats and the hardware is still in place
Great stuff! Cheers 👍🙂
Cheers! Informative and straight forward.
Really helpful, thanks.
Hi, thanks for the video, how to remove the head rest of the back seat of a TIGUAN 5N. thanks a lot
Thanks for the video. It is very helpfull. Is it possible to drive a touran without passenger seat in the front row and not having airbag failure or any warning message? I have to carry a quite long item and it only fits in the car if I remove the passenger seat in the front.
Unfortunately, unplugging the seat harness will cause the airbag light to pop up on your instrument cluster, and that will require a special tool to clear, once the seat is replaced. I am unable to confirm whether or not there is a risk of the airbag deploying in this scenario, although it seems unlikely.
@@troubledtinkerer Thank you for your quick response! :)
Don't you mean T1 Touareg?
No. This is a touran.
super, thank you
I could fixe my car with your vídeo! Thank you so much!
You're welcome
