My 2016 Touran does not have that red strap in Center of back. There is one on inner side but I definitely can not tilt my folded seat up and forward. Or remove it. I’m very frustrated. Wondering if it’s bolted to floor for sale in Japan. Why? So disappointed
All that the red tab is doing, is allowing the retainer on the foot to release from around the rod. You're possibly missing a spring, or something to that effect, so move the red tab, and if you don't see the retainer release then use a flat head screwdriver to help it release by prying lightly. I'll try to make a video to explain it better.

Hi. I will look into that for you, but I suspect that you're trying to add second row seating into a Caddy. I am not aware of 2 seater Touran models.

@@troubledtinkerer You also need to make sure the seat is slid all the way back before pulling the red tab or it wont tip up.
