Sung by Actor Marlon Williams
I am just a poor boy
Though my story's seldom told
I have squandered my resistance
For a pocketful of mumbles
Such are promises
All lies and jest
Still a man hears what he wants to hear
And disregards the rest
When I left my home and my family
I was no more than a boy
In the company of strangers
In the quiet of the railway station
Running scared
Laying low, seeking out the poorer quarters
Where the ragged people go
Looking for the places only they would know
Lie-la-lie
Lie-la-lie-lie-lie-lie-lie
Lie-la-lie
Lie-la-lie-lie-lie-lie-lie, lie-lie-lie-lie-lie
In the clearing stands a boxer
And a fighter by his...

I'm crying.
One of the best scenes in Sweet Tooth
I am just a poor boy Though my story's seldom told I have squandered my resistance For a pocketful of mumbles Such are promises All lies and jest Still a man hears what he wants to hear And disregards the rest When I left my home and my family I was no more than a boy In the company of strangers In the quiet of the railway station Running scared Laying low, seeking out the poorer quarters Where the ragged people go Looking for the places only they would know Lie-la-lie Lie-la-lie-lie-lie-lie-lie Lie-la-lie Lie-la-lie-lie-lie-lie-lie, lie-lie-lie-lie-lie Asking only workman's wages, I come looking for a job But I get no offers Just a come-on from the whores on 7th Avenue I do declare, there were times when I was so lonesome I took some comfort there, la-la-la-la-la-la-la Lie-la-lie Lie-la-lie-lie-lie-lie-lie Lie-la-lie Lie-la-lie-lie-lie-lie-lie, lie-lie-lie-lie-lie Then I'm laying out my winter clothes And wishing I was gone, going home Where the New York City winters aren't bleeding me Leading me, going home In the clearing stands a boxer And a fighter by his trade And he carries the reminders Of every glove that laid him down Or cut him till he cried out In his anger and his shame "I am leaving, I am leaving" But the fighter still remains Lie-la-lie Lie-la-lie-lie-lie-lie-lie Lie-la-lie Lie-la-lie-lie-lie-lie-lie, lie-lie-lie-lie-lie Lie-la-lie-lie-lie-lie-lie Lie-la-lie Lie-la-lie-lie-lie-lie-lie, lie-lie-lie-lie-lie Lie-la-lie-lie-lie-lie-lie Lie-la-lie Lie-la-lie-lie-lie-lie-lie, lie-lie-lie-lie-lie Lie-la-lie-lie-lie-lie-lie Lie-la-lie Lie-la-lie-lie-lie-lie-lie, lie-lie-lie-lie-lie Lie-la-lie-lie-lie-lie-lie Lie-la-lie Lie-la-lie-lie-lie-lie-lie, lie-lie-lie-lie-lie Lie-la-lie-lie-lie-lie-lie Lie-la-lie Lie-la-lie-lie-lie-lie-lie, lie-lie-lie-lie-lie Lie-la-lie-lie-lie-lie-lie Lie-la-lie Lie-la-lie-lie-lie-lie-lie, lie-lie-lie-lie-lie Lie-la-lie-lie-lie-lie-lie Lie-la-lie Lie-la-lie-lie-lie-lie-lie, lie-lie-lie-lie-lie I love you
First season was the best! Great scene
Au début il me faisait de la peine puis après quand il est partit sans la peur parce qu'il savait que c'était la fin il est mort la tête haute pour une fois
On of the most heartbreaking thing i ever heard ... i wish i could find something like this on Spotify
Best scene in the S2 finale for sure and probably the entire season. So wonderfully done. Paints a picture of what their lives could've been before the sick and before Abbott rose to power with the Last Men. Two brothers singing and enjoying a shared interest in music. It's the life they could've had.
Ohh.. im still crying 😂😢
Why did Johnny have to die man, he was my favourite character in season 2
𝕀 𝕒𝕞 𝕠𝕟 𝕤𝕖𝕒𝕤𝕠𝕟 1𝕠𝕣2
Honestly, Sweet tooth would have been so much better with Abbott staying the villain for season three. He was such a great character that truly made you worry when he was on screen. He was a true villain. While we got a bad guy for season 3.
Exactly
johnny deserved more
REAL
Bruh I cried so hard just now and as I'm typing IDK why
RIP JOHNNY
JOHNNY REVIVE PLEASE
PLEASE
When Abbott asked him to sing, i knew it was an Goodbye 😢
I just want to twinkle my toes when I hear that song 😂
Real
I wonder what Abbott was thinking in that moment when Johnny was singing.. was he saying his goodbyes because he knew he was going to kill Johnny, wondering why Johnny picked that song that really described how Johnny felt and saw the world, or a memory of life before the crumble.. or all of the above..
This is the most beautiful version of the song I ve ever heard❤
Epic ...very lovely cover and amazing series 🎉❤
His voice is so gentle 😢
whats the name of the song??
the boxer - simon & garfunkel
Watching the last season 😢 and still obsessed with this song ❤
Please someone I need to know these chords, I can’t find them anywhere 😭
He preform Simon and garfunkels song to a A+🫡 R.I.P Johnny 🤜🤛🙏🥺🥹
i cried when johnny died
He really deserved better 😢
@@ImRealyHer truly
he was one of the sweetest characters ever 💔
Actually crying because this is one of my favorite Simon & Garfunkel songs, and it hurts so bad and AHHHH 😭
as soon as Abbott asked Johnny to sing I knew that Johnny isn't getting out of it alive
I agree with others, this was my favorite part in the whole series. Never did I think he would do such a wonderful job singing. It broke my heart what his brother did, I really think they could've let him live and it not effect the movie negatively.
I like the movie sweet tooth
WOO THEY'VE RELEASED SEASON 2
Sesion 3 is ok sesion 2 the best
i wish he could do a full cover, in my opinion this sound's better than the original song
i miss my wife tails, i miss her a lot
Name music?????
La versión de Johnny me encanta ❤
I’m fucking crying 😭 this song so sad
Yep it’s sad when abbot shot Johnny 😢he was his younger brother
Even though I'm Brazilian, I love this song, this is the best part of the show, it's very beautiful, the song
Tem uma música brasileira q lembra essa, se não estou maluco é do Roberto Carlos kkk
I could be a better brother to Johnny and I’m a girl, Therian and a furry
Such a heartbreaking episode for this character. What a kind hearted soul. Getting through your past as a boy abused by your father only to be "saved" by your psychopathic brother who you feel responsible for, being the good person you are. And in the end feeling you need stay to be there for him only to die in such a way. What a beautiful interpretation of the song and the emotion fits so well with this horrible feeling now knowing he dies by the hand of his brother who didn't feel him worthy living in this world.
Why we must listen this heavenly voice with actor lines
If you know Marlon Williams first as a musician, you can tell this cover really downplays just how magical his voice truly is. It's still beautiful, but you have NO idea unless you hear him perform live 🤩
A lot of people wanna hear a full cover, also saying this is a better version than the original one, and I disagree: the beauty of the scene is behind the perfect nesting of all elements that composed it, and the short timing of what's happening . I was totally upset! However, the emotional ingredient IS the title chosen, which deals with a theme that matches with the experiences of a lot of characters. We do love this scene because of nostalgia power of this song for many of us, hugely empowered by context, whereas original one is timeless and intimate, it exacerbates our feeling at the moment we listen to and that is genius. A huge good job to Sweet Tooth team for this wonderful scene (and show), a big congrats to Marlon W. who totally caught the “thing” that needed to be shared, and thank to S&G’s original song which remains for me one of the greatest pieces of music written in the last century.
Su hermano about no era malo solo quería encontrar una cura y proteger a su hermano menor , por eso a veces era tan duro con el
we were watching this series with my 9 yr old daughter, and as soon as the song came, we both were like: oh, this is such a beautiful song! She loved it and I loved it. We searched the original and honestly, Marlon Williams cover is the best! we deserve the full cover :)
Come on kids I’ll take you to safety
Thankfully, there is evidence I've found that proves he may be alive! :D Spoilers for the series... But it's been several months since this has released so it should be fine. Firstly, if you remember S1E8 was the one where Big Man was shot, and it looks to have been in the shoulder at first glance, but during the fight Big Man had with General Abbot, Abbot asks, "How's the chest?". Although he could have been referring to an unrelated injury, it just makes much more sense for him to be referring to the bullet injury. Yes, Aimee tended to Big Man's injury, but he survived for quite some time without her help. Secondly, Some people survive gunshot wounds that on the surface appear to be fatal, yet others die from gunshot wounds that appear relatively minor. Just like real estate, it's all about location, location, location. When a bullet enters the body, its trajectory (where it goes) helps determine the severity of injury. Some bullets can pass through the body with relative little damage, while others enter the body and then ping pong around inside damaging whatever tissue or organs are in its way. If the bullet damages a major artery or the heart, death may occur almost instantaneously; however, some people are lucky and survive a gunshot wound if nothing critical is damaged. Because he was shot in the back, with luck his rib cage would have prevented the bullet from hitting anywhere vital. Thirdly, everybody's main concern, the shot of Johnny's head. You probably think lifeless, unblinking eyes like those were a dead giveaway of a corpse, but... What if I told you, you might be wrong? Open eyes aren't always a sign of consciousness; We like to think of people being alert or unconscious, but the brains anatomy can render a deceptive state in between, even doctors say this. Search it if you need more proof. I know, despite everything here it doesn't change how the writers want us to think he's dead, but it's nice to know he may still be out there.
I love your comment! Amazing analysis I thought the same, Johnny was the best character of season 2 I hope he's still alive, in the comics I understand he survives so, I hope they take the same route with the show
This show is the essence of compassion.😔💓
For the love of God bring that cover out!!!
Really love his voice!!
