    Wrong emoji It is ☸️ Buddhism Like Buddha taught about the middle way in his first sermon, many of Jainism's teachings go too far to another extreme. Middle way is to facilitate enlightenment by avoiding the extremes of self-gratification on one hand and self-mortification on the other. People say Buddha allowed (i don't think allow is the correct word for this) people to eat meat. Yes that's true. When an animal wasn't killed to be your meal, you can eat it's innocent. And what do you benefit from vegetarian diet? You won't stop butchers from killing animals and selling meat. It's pointless. Though i do think vegetarian is a good thing. Many Buddhists chose vegetarian diet too. Good video. Though. ❤

    I think saying all suffering is simply ‘ego’ is such a useless nothing of a statement. All bliss is also ego if all suffering is ego. All suffering is not ego and all bliss is not cessation of ego. Clearly all good comes from ego as life itself would be impossible without one. Competition to be the first to achieve enlightenment or spiritual awareness even largely creating all religions. In that sense suffering must be good on some level.

    I first heard about the Baha'i Faith a few years ago when a colleague from South Africa shared her story of leaving the Catholic Church and joining the Baha'is. She explained that after adopting two children of color, she faced criticism from her church members. However, she was warmly welcomed by the Baha'is. I recently discovered that we have a small Baha'i community in my country, which I had not known about it until now. Irony: the Baha'i Faith advocates for women's rights, and equality but the leadership within the community consists only of men?

    • @bahaiprayer
      @bahaiprayer 3 дня назад

      The following are my own views, and not meant to represent the Bahá'í Faith as a whole. The Faith is very focused on the equality of men and women, but I can understand how this can seem ironic. According to 'Abdu'l-Bahá in selections of the writings of 'Abdu'l-Bahá, the membership of the Universal House of Justice (UHJ) is confined to men: “The House of Justice, however, according to the explicit text of the Law of God, is confined to men; this for a wisdom of the Lord God’s, which will erelong be made manifest as clearly as the sun at high noon.” While the rationale behind this restriction of the Universal House of Justice is not fully explained, both 'Abdu'l-Bahá and Shoghi Effendi have indicated that the wisdom behind it will be revealed in due time. They have urged us as Bahá'ís to accept this provision with faith, despite the lack of immediate clarity regarding its purpose. This limitation is not viewed as a reflection of inherent capabilities of women but rather as a divine wisdom that is yet to be fully understood. While women are excluded from the Universal House of Justice, we do serve in other capacities within the Bahá'í administrative structure, including local and national assemblies, as continental counselors and on committees. This reflects the Bahá'í principle of gender equality, which asserts that men and women are equal in rights and responsibilities in most areas of the Faith, except for the specific case of being elected to the UHJ. As an individual believer and a woman, my personal view is that it’s a blessing bestowed on us as women to not be called to serve on the UHJ, as such service contains an immense responsibility and the literal weight of the world. I think being exempted from serving is by the grace of God. Having met numerous retired UHJ elected members, I stand even more firmly in this belief and am grateful for this exemption (which is honestly how I view it). I served on the Local Spiritual Assembly in my area for years, and can attest that upholding the principles of the Bahá'í Faith in practice is a daily challenge, with lofty goals of conduct, character, and consultative communication while creating unity in diversity in a greater society that is currently far from unified. I will leave you with this uplifting quote from 'Abdu'l-Bahá, the Perfect Exemplar of our Faith, “It is not through lip-service only that the elect of God have attained to holiness, but by patient lives of active service they have brought light into the world.Therefore strive that your actions day by day may be beautiful prayers. Turn towards God, and seek always to do that which is right and noble. Enrich the poor, raise the fallen, comfort the sorrowful, bring healing to the sick, reassure the fearful, rescue the oppressed, bring hope to the hopeless, shelter the destitute!”

    In the Gathas, Zarathushtra calls the old Aryan gods, Daevas or false gods who are the creations of evil mind 30-3. Those false gods include Mithra and Anahita who are not named in the Gathas but the Mithraic tradition is denounces. In the later Achaemenids era, during the rein of Ardeshir the second (408-357 BCE) in order to form a unified religion, Mithra and Anahita and other entities that had been denied by Zarathushtra, were reintroduced as Yazatha (the praiseworthy) and the creations of Ahura Mazda. Thus for the first time in the inscriptions of Ardeshir 2nd, Mithra and Anahita are named after Ahura Mazda. In the Gathas, after death, the soul is guided by conscience. The soul of the righteous shall pass the sorting bridge or Chinovat, but the soul of the wrongful will be upbraided by conscience, does not pass the bridge and shall return. But Gathas stop here and does not depict the heaven and hell. The line of separation of the two, poetically is called the sorting bridge. Saoshiant in the Gathas is a general term, meaning benefactor. It applies to those who bring benefit to the society and advance the civilization. It is a general term that may include a good labor, scientist or a leader. Gathas does not teach us to look for a future savior, because we by our decisions, determine our destiny and fate. In other words we are the author of our life and the architect of our fate. The purpose of living is to promote the living world toward perfection, In this regard humans are friends and companion of God. There is no room for belief in pre-ordained fate, slavery, exploitation and coercive conversion.

  • @donaldmoderational5338
    @donaldmoderational5338 4 дня назад

    In the Gathas of Zarathushtra, there is no entity comprising of all the evil to be feared or worshiped out of fear. In other words unlike other religions, personification of evil in the form of Satan in Abrahamic religions or Ahriman in the later Avesta does not take place. Even in the Achaemenids inscriptions, there is no mention of an evil entity like Ahriman. To come to the point, In Zarathushtra's mindset, Ahriman does not exist to stand against Ahura Mazda. In Yasna 30, from the beginning there are two essences born in the mind and dreams, one is for the better and the other for the worse. One results in Life (Constructive living) and the other brings Un-Life (alive but not truly living, or destructive life). Men and women are given freedom to choose one of the two paths, considering the end results. Choosing the righteous path will bring happiness to the living world and spiritual relief to the person, and resorting to lies and wrath causes destruction to all and inner torment to the wrong chooser. As noted, Heaven and Hell are the two states of mind that one generates in this world and both are discerned in conscience.

    I'm going to distill Judiasm down to its essence. It is the worship of Jews, not the worship of God. They created the God of the Jews as a certifying entity. The ancient Jews weren't even monotheists; they simply elevated their god above the gods of the other peoples. "I am the Lord, thy God; there shall not be other Gods before me." And in doing so, they made their religion so ethno-centric that God had to take a back seat. Since the 2nd Century A.D. the Jews started the commentary process of their bible. "Scholar" after "scholar" started to write commentary on top of commentary, each interpreting and adding more commandments, rituals and holidays until we have the bloated, mind controlling "religion" we call Judiasm.

    The Magi were Babylonian not Persian. These priests watched the skies every night looking for signs to interpret to the King of Babylon. They saw a new star and divined it to be the herald of the birth of a king. They most likely brought tribute as representatives of their king, to pay homage.

    Zoroastrianism is a monotheistic religion. Angra Menu has never been equal to Ahura Mazda, but it’s equal is Spenta Menu which is progressive forces against regarding forces. These forces are in human mind and not cosmic forces. The teaching of Zarathustra himself is distinguished from the rest of the Avesta because the language is a most ancient form of Avestan language translated with the help of Sanskrit as they are very close relative languages. In Zoroastrianism the for elements of; air, water, earth and fire are sacred and must not be polluted.

    "Elohim" ("God") is a TITLE, NOT a name. "HaShem" "the name" is NOT a personal identity of the Divinity's character. "Adonai," "My Lord," like Elohim is a TITLE, NOT a name. In Hebrew the consonants of God's name have been translated as "Yod He Vaw He" the consonants of YHWH, often printed and written in English as "Jehovah" "Yehovah" "Yahweh" or "Yah" which are NAMES, NOT TITLES. "Jehovah" is a causative verb meaning "I will prove to be what I will prove to be."

    I was nervous and pleasantly surprised by this video. You managed to avoid most of the errors and generalizations so prevalent in other "overview of Judaism" videos. two minor corrections; 1. while many jews believe the messiah is still to come, none believe he has already come. Some groups, notably messianics, exist in a space between christianity and judaism but the Jewish definition of the messiah is a fully human being. When he inevitably dies, a new person becomes the messiah of that generation. there are by contrast some groups that do not believe in an individual messiah at all such as Karite jews, humanist jews, and classical reform jews. Notably the concept of a messiah does not exist in the Torah itself, but is found in the mishnah which was not compiled until the third century of the common era. 2. Please ask even one jew how to pronounce chanukah. Really it's not your fault, this is one of the pitfalls of transliteration. there isn't actually a convenient way to represent the sound of some hebrew letters in the english language.
