This game is a classic, here's me explaining why. Outro song: A Corner Of Memories, Persona 4 Soundtrack. NOTE: This is a modified re-edit of a previous video I made over a year ago, that I have since removed. I have updated the editing, script, and voice-over to better conform to higher standards I have set for this channel. That said, some parts remain lower quality than I would like, such as...

Beautifully said, narrative wise Black flag was the last good Ac but in terms of Gameplay unity was peak.
I'm happy you enjoyed it so much! Yeah black flag is also my favorite story in the series, But I will say, if you like talking about Unity, just wait...
@@TheTalkingCornerI'll look forward to your next video bro your so underrated
@@Cerseisson Underrated... for now

Thanks!
Season 1 is still dope. Unfortunately my problems with 2-4 is still a massive bummer to me. The exposition dialogue problems, and how some of the dialogue is written in general really takes me out of it. And it’s a bummer. I got back to the DCAU shows and they hold the hell up with their dialogue. But I got to YJ, and it just doesn’t feel natural a lot of the time.
Yeah the drop in quality after S1 is just really unfortunate. I always find solace in the fact that, no matter what happened after, they can never take the first season from us.
will you do the next Seasons?
Eventually I am planning on it, possibly before the end of the year, but it could be longer than that. I don't have plans to do S3 or S4, however.
I just finished Black Flag for the first time. It’s the most fun I’ve had playing an AC game. I played the RPG games before any of the older ones and have had trouble getting into the older ones. This is the perfect in between. I started playing Mirage after this, and it’s beautiful but the combat is too refined now comparatively.
I agree. It captures what made 2, Brotherhood, and revelations great, while also innovating enough to be a very solid game. Even if none of its mechanics are ground breaking, it's such an easy game to go back to.
Fantastic video, should have more views. Good luck! P.s I love black flag so so much, a lot of nostalgia involved there
Glad you enjoyed it so much, it's doing just fine. Happy I was able to bring you a surge of nostalgia.
"Better than you remember"
That might be true tbh
@@TheTalkingCorner in all fairness I could be bias. You might not find a bigger meat rider of this show than me 😂😂😂😂
you jsut sold me on bllack flags legitimacy as maybe an even more nuanced story then ac1 bravo
Hey we don't need to diminish 1 to celebrate black flag. But yeah, black flag has one of the most nuanced stories in the series imho.
@@TheTalkingCorner ac1 is my absoulte favorite played it more then a hundred times both without and full historical context when isay ac1 is nuanced i mean that the amount of weight and gravity thestory holds is very dependent on your knowladge of the crusades and the actors in the story in real history it adds to the narative in a very significant way to the extent that it becomes less assassins versus templars and more of a story about dismantiling actors who are swallowing up the populace of the holyland with their ambitions al mualims goal of peace and the survival of the nizzari ismali assassins is the cornerstone behind his motivations these can come off as extremely simple or vastly consequential if your privleged to the full context of saladin richard rashid sinan and the franks as well as the seljuks and the second crusade that setsup the stage for ac1 altair is dismantiling both sides of the conflict before the conflict can come to a center mass so when i say black flag may have even mroe nuance then ac1 some lines that could be taken as simple movie throw aways or cliches actually have considerable depth another great example is arno and elises relationship many talk shit about unitys story but if youve ever been in a toxic relationship before in your youth and been thrown with that type of passion you can see why arno made some of the stupid descions he made on elises behalf while simoultaniously not realizing that the actions that he was taking for her was also for himself i feel the same way about most of revelations too and mirage on that same note
sorry if my initial post seemed like a dig at ac1 cuz i think its argueably the best the wrtitting has been
Amazing video, your analysis of not only the character of edward but also the narrative surrounding him is wonderfully done, I wish but the best for your channel because you truly deserve to a good career on here, and I'd love to see more videos of yours like this one, could you perhaps do a video on assassin's Creed rogue and it's protagonist Shay Patrick Cormac?
Thanks so much for the kind words! I really appreciate it. More Assassins creed content is coming!
I've never watched this show, but now I _really_ want to. I swear, it's on my bucket list. 😁. Does anyone know where I can watch _all_ the seasons of the show for free? Is it on Netflix, or something?
You really should watch it tbh, it's super good. Show is only available on Max right now.
@@TheTalkingCorner Oof, I don't have Max. :P.
The first season is by far the best season of the show. Season 2 was definitely the most convoluted plot where a lot of fan favorite characters got lost in the shuffle. Season 3 was the down point of the show with it's confusing and political motivated and driven plot. Season 4 tried to return to form, but it was an overall let down.
Well s4 really failed to return to form it was worst than s3
Beautiful video. I can't tell you how wonderful it is to see the emphasis you put on the fact that duty overcomes wanderlust in the conclusion, and how that's not a bad thing. Freedom and responsibility are not mutually exclusive things.
I'm happy you liked it so much! Yeah I love how Black Flag manages to showcase the beauty/necessity of freedom AND responsibility, it's a message you don't see often in a lotta stories.
I really hope your opening point doesn't actually apply to Avengers EMH.
Agree on the Robin and Zatanna relationship. It's the least shown yet it is perhaps the sweetest. Ultimately I still stan Dick and Starfire though.
Didn't know how much that'd be a hot take lol... glad I'm not alone.
@@TheTalkingCornerno, I agree. It’s the romance that I actually had zero problems with aside for the jarring DC fan mindset of Zatanna being younger and going for Robin as opposed to Batman. But it has the least development and spotlight, which ironically worked in its favor for season 1. M’gann and Conner never really felt engaging for me, but I think that has more to do with Conner’s characterization. And Wally and Artemis felt a little contrived to me. I think with Dick and Z, and Wally and Artemis, not skipping 5 years would’ve made things feel a lot better. WHY did Z and Dick break up? How did Wally and Artemis get to the point of being as lovey dovey as they are? That time skip really hurt things.
Young Justice was great...when it started. When it ended...not so much. That Avengers cartoon, in my opinion, still holds up today. It treated Cap better than the comics did, anyway.
There's a reason I kept my discussion to Season 1 only...
Underrated video
Underrated... for now. Appreciate the sentiment.
P4: we have to make the most of the time we have before you go home, we already miss you so lets make plans to meet up again already P3: too depressed to think of the future P5: cleared of charges so suddenly go home after prison release
Lol
I played P4G after college and the game hit hard. It was incredibly uncanny with similarities to my hometown with a setting the exact time I'd be a Junior in highschool, so I had a disturbing level of immersion while living vicariously though the game. However basically my entire highschool friend group broke up a few years agter graduation and fell out of contact then lost my college one after I moved 1500 miles away for work during COVID..The life lessons taught in the game came a bit too late for me, but sometimes I would set the control down and just reminisce. It gave me the courage to send out a few texts and get in contact with old friends, we all have lives now that take up time but when I go back to my home state I'm not going just to see family anymore
Very Wholesome story. I feel like everyone I talk to has their own story as to how the persona series affected them, it's always a treat to hear those stories. P4g captures the essence of a good friend group with so much purity and accuracy. As I said in the video, I love how willing the game is to slow down and show off the simpler moments that define friendships, no other story I've ever experienced captured that feeling as closely as P4 did.
@@TheTalkingCorner I can point out a good reason for that I don't think you included. Most of the P4 characters (and I think probably the entire main cast) figured their shit out on their own or you acted as a catalyst for a process they were already going through, basically you were a friend not a therapist You could honestly do an entire video comparing that aspect compared to many Social Links in P3 and P5 where the MC more times seemed to act like a therapist or the impetus of change
@@hcook1023I like that! Yeah a big issue I have with P3 and P5 is that the side characters seem to worship you; it just feels weird at times. P4 they treat you like you're a good friend who they appreciate. You walk with them while they figure they're problems out, and do help them here and there, but fundamentally they work through their own arcs.
@@TheTalkingCorner I do like how even the villains of P3 comment on the BS persona power of Makoto In P5 I think Morgana had a lot to do with it in the main cast by talking Ren up probably from the vague recollection of being a Velvet Room attendant and also teaching him how to be cool before meeting most the cast
I wish they soon make a persona 4 game which is years after golden and P4AU when the group is an adult... That would surely be full of nostalgia
Sounds like it could be interesting
@@southiesboxbreakphretrogaming kind of like how Golden ended or the ski trip Honestly I would also like to see characters have some cross over between games more not just references in future games like P6, like after their journey is done their powers slowly fade but they either recognize signs of new Persona users/events then assist or even mentor. Like the new group goes to a Risette concert and a new Meta event occurs. The fight is too hard (Reaper intro) for a new navigator so is overwhelmed then Rise enters behind them and takes over with more experience, or maybe even Yu or the rest of the team comes in too and takes the battle over right before the Shadow's final attack ........or they happen to get saved by Aigis the shadow killer robot I forgot about until finishing basically a writing prompt lol
@@hcook1023 yeah that's good too... They act as legacies... A cool scenario would be Yu and Rise would get married and have a kid... Then this kid gets to be in the same situation as his dad but the kid doesn't know so he keeps it secret... Until they hit a snag because of being new to the persona thing then Yu bails out his kid in trouble in the other world then it will be clear to the kid that his parents is also a persona user who re-awaken their persona when his persona was awaken... Then they teach the new persona users the way around with the help of other persona users which they met long time ago

Ayyyyy
I feel like Persona 4 is centered on ‘acceptance of self,’ while Persona 5 is more focused on ‘changing yourself.’ Both necessary steps in Jung’s idea of Integration. Great video!
Glad you liked it! Yeah I love how the three main games compliment each other, despite how different they all are. They still rock as stand alone stories, but you get such a complete vision by playing them all.
this was great
Glad you liked it!
rewatched all 4 seasons recently & can confirm still hits, one of my fav dc cartoon series
It really shocked me how well it aged. I expected my memory of it to be just a bit tinted by rose tinted glasses, but no, it's really, really good.
We need at least 3 more seasons!
Good video. Only small issue I have is... Batman is not the leader of the Justice League in YJ. Superman is the Main leader while Batman and Wonder Woman lead sections. You can even tell with their zeta tube code numbers. Batman is 02. Wonder Woman is 03. Superman is 01. Batman runs a lot of the day to day stuff since Supe is saving major world issues. Think of Superman as the owner of the company and Batman as the CEO. Batman is up there, but not the ultimate leader.
Ha, never realized that detail of the show. Thanks for sharing!
Well it depends on the season who leads too. The Designations for the OG7 is just how the league came together to fight the Appellaxians as they did in thw silver age. Season 1 Superman was the leader. Season 2 Batman was in charge. Season 3 was Co-Chair Diana and Aquaman (Kaldur) Season 4 has Black Lightning in charge following his promotion at the end of Season 3. I would presume that during the gap between season 2 and 3 Martian Manhunter was in charge, and Hal and Barry each got a turn between the events of season 1 and 2, with it also being implied that between the League's founding and the events of season 1 that Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman and Aquaman (Arthur) all shared the responsibility because they're Super Friends.
What’s the importance of making Ellie like women?
There’s not much importance to it. She’s attracted to women. It’s as simple as that
They just did everything so much better in TLOU and captured so many hearts.
It's crazy how far ahead that game is from even newer narrative driven games. The quality of the cutscenes alone dwarfes most AAA releases
@@TheTalkingCorner It was the perfect team with great passion, talent and trust in each other.
Interesting thoughts! 🤔
The episode where Robin and Artemis, the nonsuperpower guys, have to save the day is so good!
One of my favorite episodes! Always rewatch it
So good!!!!
Another episode I absolutely loved was The Harm/Secret episode
Batman ain’t one of my favourite hero’s but when watching young justice I kinda liked him even more .
Really I never hear anyone talking about his depiction, but it's SO GOOD. easily the best non-kevin-conroy animated depiction.
yooo this was such an in dept analysis that I truly expected you to at least be in the thousands. Can’t wait for you to be one of those some day!
Genuinely supper happy to hear you enjoyed the video and joined the channel. More content is coming!
S1 and S2 were literally peak for this show. S3 and S4 I don’t think were as bad as people say they are but the quality drop is pretty obvious as well as the animation drop because those goddamn freeze frames….
Personally I'm not a huge fan of S3-4, but I do still think they have redeeming qualities, and get why people liked them
2 has the first signs of some of the problems of 3-4. I gave 2 a massive pass when I watched it on tv, because a lot of shit I love from DC showed up (nightwing, Tim drake, Static, deathstroke). But the timeskip really hurt the show in ways that became more apparent with each following season.
I love young justice it’s such a great show and freaking fantastic in my opinion.
I agree! Big part of my childhood
@@TheTalkingCorner same here this was also a big part of my childhood as well which is why i am hoping really hoping for season 5 because damn it this show was awesome and deserves to have a ending in my opinion.
A well constructed analysis that reminded me why I loved this show so much! Great work!
Thanks for the compliment! Gonna worm to continue increasing tbe quality of these videos
I love yj I’ve loved it since I was a kid and I’ll love it forever i rewatch the show probably every month it’s so good all 4 seasons the good and the bad I just cant get enough of it and I love superboy and miss Martian they’re so cute
It is very rewatchable. Every time I go back to it I enjoy it in new ways
It is very rewatchable. Every time I go back to it I pick up new things
The "I swear I was kidding" line always gets me. The show had a good mix of serious scenes and jokes to the point that even climax has such a well-written joke.
Yes it did! Very fun show, that also manages darker themes
I expect a review for each following season now. I have high hopes
Also I'm the 32nd sub
A review for season 2 will come out eventually, not sure if I'll get to tbe other seasons though. I don't have a lotta positives to say about them to be honest.
Thanks!
@@TheTalkingCorner positive or negative, I want to hear about it.
@@michaelhernandez5237 I plan on making a lot of different content for this channel. A fair bit will be based on superhero media, but there'll also be stuff on video games, other TV shows, ect. Just look forward to it.
Planning on rewatching YJ and suddenly I see this video
Definitely should rewatch it, it ages like fine wine and rewards rewatches
Why the heck did you talk about childhood shows that sucked and have footage of Earth's mightiest heroes!?!?! that show was fire
😂😂 I had a tough time deciding which shows to show for that section, because I know everything is a fan favorite to someone. I don't know, looking back it just felt too safe for me, and uninspired. But it's perfectly fine if you enjoyed it.
@@TheTalkingCornerI can't even.
The first season is spectacular, and I love every character and wish we got more time with them pre skip. When season 2 Invasion aired, everyone including myself were upset about the time skip, and as a kid I only really enjoyed when the original team was on screen or Blue Beatle and Impulse, and wasn't to fond of the story. But when I rewatched it a while ago, I loved it and it's actually almost as good as season 1, I now even like the story more in Invasion (not by much) but the first season's characterization is just so much better and it's because of the core cast. The original team steal the show every time in Invasion, especially Dick, Wally, and Kaldur. _I love Dick._ I also love the scene Connor where finds out about Kaldur going under cover and the respect he shows to Dick, even if he's pissed at him. Connor has grown so much and it never feels out of place despite him being the hot head in season 1 that blew a fuse every time he had a chance. I didn't mean to focus on Invasion when the video is about Season 1, but I at least kept it to talking about the characters from season 1. I'd need to rewatch season 3, I remember being neutral negative for most of it. And season 4 just kinda sucks, 3 was edgy but 4 would make hot topic cringe. When *you know* died so did the heart of character interactions, and the show as a whole.
Yeah I agree with a lot of what you said about S2, though in my mind I'd still say season 1's story has the edge. I'm just really partial to a simple, character driven story and season 1 has more of that.
@@TheTalkingCorner there's also this one problem with season 2 before the death of Wally West. Conner Kent says subtly why he broke up with Miss Martian. She mind-graped him. Then he gets villified for having a good reason and is forced to get back together with him by another Ilanna Strange of all people effectively saying "alien girls will be alien girls, they only meddle with clone boys they like." Then even further when Conner has good reasons for calling things off in season 3, Miss Martian again says "but I thought we..." and gets forced to get back together and marry with her because they're supposedly the Clois of the Team when they're not. Conner had very good reasons for no...even knowing how she goes beyond just regular sibling banter with both Malefic and BB into torture...to the point that she will even try to secretly make missions easier for BB's new team of Outsiders by posing as a civillian on Batman's orders instead of letting them do things in their own way and their own time without Batman, Kaldur, Nightwing and her all still thinking of the Outsiders as a bunch of sidekicks. Isn't that funny how the show always seems to say this same thing the comics like saying nowadays? That thing being "They're only right if they have some form of a Bat-symbol on their chest or if they're willing to admit Bat-superiority." Literally every time a point was brought up by Wally, Conner or Gar they all got told "what do you know, you're just kids" even though Wally could have easily said to Grayson "yeah, but I'm older than you, just because you suited up before most of us, doesn't mean you know better." Conner about wanted to say this too.
Young justice was a great movie and I loved it so much and I loved the movie so much and I am so happy for you and your family and your family and your family I love you so much and I hope you have a great day
I loved YJ when I was younger and after rewatching a few of the episodes, It honestly got even better for me after analysing it with a more mature point of view.
It seriously ages like fine wine. Goes from a fun action show to a deeply personal mystery thriller, at least that's the transition it had for me 😂.
I just recently finished binging the entirety of the show and I agree, season 1 straight slaps. I'd say it's the best season, with season 2 being close, but not just as good.
Yeah that seems to be the common consensus. There are parts of season 2 I like, and also don't like. Some of the character work and dialog is phenomenal (it's got some of my favorite zingers in the series). But I don't love the tonal shift the show took, or how abruptly different it all feels. To each their own though.
@@TheTalkingCorner Yeah that's fair enough.
keep up the good work big dawg you god 27 now
Haha thanks. This channel will be getting a lot more content soon enough
Also, don’t forget Young Justice is a really good show and the truth is soon It will have a season 5 and it will be called Young Justice and Beyond and for each letter the color pattern will go Red, Blue, Yellow, Green and under Young Justice the new word is Beyond
fr?
No I didn’t have a childhood
Also I always thought it would be interesting if they did the arc where Dick took on the cowl and trained Damian Wayne. It wouldve gone back to that idea of him not being Batman but also looked at him making Batman his own thing
I love the line "they are the main charaxters of this show but not the main characters of this world" Sadly the later seasons forget this and by season 4 Superboy and Nightwing team up and fight Zod... like yeah I love Zod but these guys jumped in skill and I didnt get to see it properly
Yeah I have mixed feelings about season 2, and mostly negative feelings about season 3/4, which is why I really didn't mention them. The biggest appeal for season 1 (for me at least) is the youthful energy of everything, the positive (if slightly angsty) depiction of growing up, and the high optimism for the future. The later season feels like writing a hyper dark version of a fairy tale. I don't hate the idea of the story maturing with its characters, but jumping 5 years ahead feels so abrupt and too different.
@@TheTalkingCorner honestly the timeskip is a cop out. Like sure you can say the realationships aren't peak but the fight between Superboy and Miss Martian over her misuse of her powers would be interesting. So would seeing why Wally wants to retire from superheroics or Robin becoming Nightwing or several other ideas the show says happened but would have made for interesting storytelling. The timeskips are at best to give us twists with little justification or at worst to say we werent up for writing that scene so we didnt. Season 2 has 5 years and squanders it. Season 3 has 2 years, and pretty much couldve taken place a few months after season 2. And season 4 feels like the most direct continuation of a previous season with a year. There are other reasons why the cracks show but the timeskips are a big one
Personally I really liked season 2, wasn’t a fan of season 3, and haven’t watched season 4. I just felt cheated by season 3. There were still more things that I wanted to see from the core cast, and I was disappointed that they introduced an entirely new set of characters and storylines. I suppose it was better watching the writers struggle with new characters than watching totally butcher the characters we know and love so much.
@@jakeschafer250 Yeah I don't really know why they didn't just continue developing the core cast. There's definitely enough depth and lore for each of these characters to get 4 seasons worth of development. Not saying they can't introduce new characters, but they should still balance out new characters with returning characters (season 2 did this a lot better than season 3)
@@adamconway6101 Yeah I think they wanted the time skip to surprise people and allow them to start the story in a kind of En Medias Res. Start season 2 with all the beloved characters in new places, and slowly reveal how they got there. Actually that isn't too different from season 1, except it's of course very different to INTRODUCE a character than it is to reintroduce them. Again, it just felt too abrupt and toneily different. M'gan going from a scarred, but upbeat, giddy-to-prove-herself teenager to a quasi murderer just feels weird.
Cool
