I love it! It’s been great to me, output shaft seal has had a slight seep but other than that it’s been perfect!

@@2jneex did you source it from a low mileage car? Did you rebuild it? Have always heard of how notchy the shift feeling is.

@Knownworldwide to be honest I have no idea how many miles are on it LOL. I just put my extended shifter housing and striker rod on it and sent it, no rebuild or nothing. It’s super nice and notchy, I have a cubespeed short shifter so that definitely helps

Unless it’s super old, nasty, or gets oil or something odd in it there’s really no reason not to reuse it! Good luck!

Absolutely not. If you don’t drain it, when you pull the thermostat housing off it’ll go everywhere. There’s no way to do it without draining the coolant

@@2jneex would all the coolant come pouring out from the thermostat housing?

It would, yeah. The back of the water pump is what connects to that lower radiator hose which acts as the thermostat housing. All the coolant would come pouring out, especially because it’s sloped downward off the back of the water pump

Do it!! I spent a lot of extra money on small bits cause the trans I got was incomplete so all in I was around $4500-$5k. I think mine came from an early mk3 but there’s no real way to know because the vin plate isn’t there unfortunately

I did yes, it’s the cubespeed w58 short shifter. Roughly $200

@2jneex well ill be using the w55 shifter housing would it matter if I did get the w58 short shifter or would it work

Slave cylinder is the OEM IS300 slave. I used a single mass mk4 Supra stock flywheel and exedy clutch kit

@@2jneex is it the original push rod for the slave ?

You definitely could, I just decided to get everything separately

The vin plate is missing so there’s no way to know for sure but from what I’ve been told it came from a mk3. I used a single piece steel w58 is300 specific driveshaft from xcessive manufacturing. The factory w55 driveshaft won’t work unfortunately

@@2jneex yeah it has a aluminum sand which plate so I’m assuming it’s a MK3 W58 also. Dude that sucks I spent like $400 on this W55 drive shaft because VT Bobby said it would fit and work.

From what I’ve been told and seen it won’t, but I didn’t ever try myself because I heard it wouldn’t. Danny at Static Garage had his OEM w55 driveshaft adjusted and altered to work, reach out to them and see what they did to make it fit!

@@2jneex Thanks man! One last question did you go with Series 5 Polyurethane Transmission Mounts from Xcessive? You're the first person that I know who's doing the same swap as me thanks for taking the time to reply to my questions, Hopefully I'm not too screwed with the driveshaft.

Yes! Series 5 poly mount and I also used their crossmember. Hope the info I’ve give has helped!!

Yeah, all JZ’s are exactly the same bolt pattern for the bellhousing

Bellhousing is w58-jz from eBay, shifter housing and striker rod are oem but extended 3” to accommodate for the trans tunnel opening, and the driveshaft is a specific w58-is300 one piece from xcessive manufacturing

@@2jneexdid you get those bellhousings that are not oem from eBay? I got one from there and I’m worried the bolt holes won’t line up when I go to install

sorry for the late response! currently maxpeedingrods, but thats going to be changing real soon

no obviously they were replaced prior to this video, “factory” meaning oem pads/rotors. maxpeedingrods coilovers

@@2jneex you gotta get some bc coilovers, best upgrade ive done to my is300 so far

it’s not a standard floor jack but it’s meant to hold the car up. works fine for me lol
