The OLED is supposed to cost $350. Why did you pay $`100 more for it?
What do you mean, the RRP is around $500-600 here in Australia bud
@@JamieToomeyPresents Yikes! It's way cheaper than that over here. That is too expensive.
Fond memories of video Libraries very much a case of you do not realise what you have lost until they are gone
People aren’t sick of Hollywood, don’t be so bloody ridiculous.
Thats what is lacking in society, these days"a lack of community"
It was a place where you could hang out. There were always people and there was always something playing on the Tv, and even seats to watch the film that was playing. At least it was like this in Belgium were I live.
United Video in Auckland, NZ, Would go there most days after school and weekends I loved looking at the packagings and dreaming of the snacks by the counter. Can never replicatre that vibe I miss it!
In my area there were two videoshops; Hot Spot and Hollywood. Both bankrupt late 90's early 2000's. Miss those days.
Redvines , popcorn and blockbuster
Dude I loved video ezy growing up. It was a ritual for me every friday night renting movies, the excitement of walking in and seeing the rows of movies was too good. It's such a shame that it's a thing of the past and this generation of kids will never experience what we had. Loving the content 👌
I love how diverse your content is! You keep doing you mate 👍
If your going to focus on Physical Media, maybe hold them closer to the camera or do close ups.
The days of video stores were great, not only because you met like-minded people who were just as enthusiastic about films as you, but it was simply a completely different experience to go through this library of films, to look at the cover motifs, especially for horror films, and if you liked the story, all the better, that's the main reason why we still have our own film collection at home today, to bring back that time somehow. And through RUclips channels like yours, you don't feel quite so alone with your passion in the digital age because, quite honestly, outside of RUclips, you don't really know anyone who really shares your hobby, even with your family, you're pretty much alone as someone who still can't let go 🤷♂️
My favourite video shop was called the Number 2 video shop (the owner also owned the Number 1) which was connnected to the local pub. The owner, a guy called Fred, was AWESOME as, with my mum's permission, he allowed me to rent 18 rated horror movies (I was 12 at the time) and would call me as soon as new horror movies came in, so I was always first to rent them! Great times renting stuff like Return Of The Living Dead, Demons, Friday The 13th, Re-Animator, Day Of The Dead etc. I miss being able to go to the video shop to rent (and COPY!) new stuff. Remember when you'd re-read the back of movies you'd already seen? Hiring the same movie over and over...... Good times back in the 1980s......
I subscribed mainly because of Jamie. The subject is interesting to me also obviously but it's not enough nowadays for me to subscribe. The cozy, slow format is also good. Few channels are chill like that nowadays. Same reasons I also watch @theguitaristas and @MADMALKO.
Can confirm a trip to the video shop was a fun little outing and I miss it.
Yes! I remember every Saturday morning I'd go to all the video stores and make my rounds and buy too many movies...loved it. Then I'd go get some food and head home for some serious binge watching...hope those days come back.
it won't comeback.i hoped digital
I loved going to the video store when I was a kid. I remember even before the chains. Before video ezy - we had that in nz too - you had independent stores. Some were pretty crazy. The horror section would have spiderwbs and horror posters all about. I could spend hours just looking through tapes. Scrolling a streaming service just isn't the same.
I loved that.i remember doing that in fye store scroll around see I will get
Now this channel connects us <3 <3 <3 Thanks for fostering this wonderful corner of the internet.
I love how these comments are like american politics. A 2 party system. Either streaming or physical media. Ever thought about the fact that there are more options than just these 2? Like files on local storage? Large SSDs you own. Filled with terabytes of movies in amazing quality. It is PHYSICAL media you own. nobody can take it away from you. Hardware to play a file won't ever be discontinued. optical disc players will be some day. No internet needed. No ads. No shitty quality. BluRay quality including all the bonus features you get on the disc. Just without the disc. And even more secure since you can back up your files. DVDs and BluRays are preferable to streaming IMO. But SSDs are just more convenient. I can loan a movie to a friend too. and I don't have to worry that they scratch the disc. infact most of my (adult) friends don't even have a physical media player anymore. also I don't want to sacrifice all that space for physical media. Streaming sucks. And if you like your physical boxes and cover art that's fine. But I think local storage is the way to go.
It’s only better until the enjoyment has been filled
I agree Problem is business people taking creativity out of the art=market becomes dry=go bk to private developers again=recycle, recycle Switch is the last innovative piece of hardware atm. Every1 is choosing to play on a ps5 that’s isn’t on a tred mill, than a ps4 and don’t have to deal with load times really, with a ssd. Consoles have peaked with the ssd and graphics now. But ps3 was the last console, wear u thought wow!
DVD is king because it's cheaper to buy I have more DVDs than blue rays and 4ks in my collection.
Glad I've been watching KvS lately, because the algorithm sent me to you.
Hey Jamie, how many movies can you sit down to watch a week? I find so hard to have a couple hours to spare and I love movies. Also I'm ready for the hate: I really like 3:10 to Yuma with Russel Crowe 😂
I'm waiting for Daima to finish to watch it all on a weekend off. Don't want to be spoiled.
That’s fair
All time favorite show for me!!! 🔥
vinyls have soul
It was a great show!
Bro you have such a nice energy, i do however get buzzed out when you mention stuff from back in the day like you having a YT channel in 06/07?? you seem like 28-30 max
Yeah my initial channel was a success, topped out at around 1030 subscribers or something in around 2009, but the content I was making made me sick, so I stopped
People feel like it's a break from the cable companies throwing things in your face you really don't care about.on top of that it's free in a sense unless you want to buy in to premium.
I watch RUclips more than any other platform and that's what legacy media hates. You can entertain people from your basement without directors, producers, HR approval and it feels REAL. You can't replicate that in a corporate system.
For me, RUclips is the new television and simply offers me more added value than any streaming service that I hardly use. In addition, I can exchange ideas with others about my hobby, both the good and the bad sides.
Good video ! I love RUclips...I am on it all the time.
It's pretty much impossible to see my 4k movies IN 4K on youtube, even with a high speed connection and smart tv
Yeah I could only get Mario to output to 480p
I use RUclips music 🙂, most of the time I get to see the music video.
RUclips tried to be a streaming service (remember RUclips Red, is that even still a thing) Cobra Kia was the only show that really gained traction through RUclips Red. Movie wise i use primarily physical media Blu Ray/4K ect. But i do watch alot of youtube and in regards to shorter form content youtube i guess would be considered my primary digital consumption. Isnt it crazy that sometimes a youtubers 15 minute video is more desirable and entertaining than a Netflix bigger budget movie.
I hope next episode have some good fights with strong opponents
I need 8K bluray
I'm quite partial to Sam Peckinpah's The Ballad of Cable Hogue
I am aussie so I don't care about american politics. I don't care who is voting for who. I don't have a side.
Back to the future part III 😉
I own them all on bluray, but I also have Paramount+ and Disney+ as well.
i picked up 30 days and nights 2 times some reason 😂. i forgot i bought it.
Kino existential episode.
When we gonna get to properly see your CD collection? It would be quite interesting. Oh, and Happy Halloween!
That's nothing 💬 some people collect real "SUPER CARS 🚘🚖 " costing millions of dollars 💵
Blair witch: check out the haunting (1963), another one you use your imagination. Just watched it again on Blu-ray.
Fantastic video
6:38 New 3DS
Television used to comfort me because l knew millions were watching a program at the same time as me. I felt united with them in a silly way. Now l watch only DVD on my TV.
