Cadillac Escalade Sport Grill and LED headlight upgrade full install 2007-14
Просмотров 15 тыс.2 года назад
I will install the Akon LED headlights for the 07 thru 14 Cadillac Escalade, also did the taillights but those should need no instructions, super easy, plug and play. You can use your OEM Xenon headlights which i did. Only the DRL and parking lights are LED now
Hellcat lifter difference HEMI Camshafts!

I noticed one small difference in the 2015 lifter revision
How do you remove the top 4 bolts that's on the transmission
Hey where can I find a headlight Module like u point out in the video
i got the headlights off Amazon, only buy there so you dont pay a huge restocking if it goes bad
Hey I have a question how can I reach u
As folks have asked how do the square lights come on
they come on automatically.
My regulator is different from yours and they don’t plug in the same with my new wires
@@sabinohernandez1704 hmm maybe new design?
What size is the oil plunger internally
My favorite is when people tell you not to buy a particular brand and to buy the brand that has literally caused the discussion in the first place. OE has literally costed gm and mopar customers a billion dollars
Great video and very informative..! I have a 07 Ext Escalade and my wife hit a deer... I replaced the original grill with one just like yours..anyways I was wondering what year is the Emblem that you used on the front of your grill..?
2013 to 18 I am pretty sure, they have blacked out ones, gold ones and factory on ebay
@darthhemi1735 Awesome... and Thank you
hellcat lifter $80 TO &100 TRY $600
some of us know where to buy car parts :)
What you do with the old grill?
toss it in trash... its worthless
How did you get the new emblem to fasten to the grille?
just used some zip ties/wire and stickup nothing crazy
Is that new escalade emerald
You got a direct link to that grille? It's a shame we have to tear these apart to replace them but man what an improvement!
I got it on Amazon or eBay... Can't remember..
i have the same headlights- on mine if you hit fog lights on and turn headlights to possers LEDS act as daytime running lights -and /or hit fog lights on daytime running lights should be on within the LEDS- GREAT HEADLIGHT SETUP
How do you go about getting the torque converter bolts off? Offset wrench?
i believe it was just a standard 13 mm ratchet.
From where i can buy this grill?
I got off Amazon.
Link to the paint to color match the grill?
get two cans, and you will need clear coat... you can get the 1k or 2k clear coat... ebay.us/nhjpUI
What brand clear coat? Link?
@@mamalonaobs actually maybe only need one can, primer and 2k or 1k clear you can get at any parts store
Am about to buy this headlights but my concern is the projectors beam which one is better oem headlights or that aftermarket ones . If you have time make a night driving video thank you
yeah I should, realize it uses the factory bulbs so its the same light. They are still going strong (daytime running lights working fine now) I def would recommend these.
Great job 👏
Thank you! 😃
Getting ready to yank my tranny and t case out as one next weekend. Gotta take care of my rear main seal leak, been putting it off to long. Now I opened my own garage I don't get as much time to work on mine. Shouldn't be to bad though, I have a Ashton 8k mid rise open center lift that goes up 47", and a hydraulic lift cart I'm gonna use. I bought a pan with a drain plug to put in, and some Mopar tcase fluid. I should try and record it, but I don't think I have the patience to fiddle with a camera lol. Good stuff Darth.
Question . I have 2007 ESV NON PLATINUM . Will the EXT grill like this one fit my 2007 ESV ? . Thanks .
The truck I put it on is a non Platiunum
@@darthhemi1735 I don't think you quite understood my question. I looked on ebay and I see the ext doesn't fit the esv . They look identical to me .
@@gardyfaustin8707 there is some confusion in the listings from what I saw. Then i found some that list the esv/ext grills. It will work
@@darthhemi1735 exactly my point . Confused also 😂😂
Nice i got the same grille and headlights. It makes the truck look real nice
Yeah I really like it 10x better than stock
I bought the smoked ones and didn't like the look plus my DRL didn't work also. I just ordered the clear ones and hopefully they'll work right out the box!
yeah my smoked was bad out the box, i know the guy sent me bad ones.. Hoping i would take more than 30 days. Always buy from Amazon... ive learned that lesson... these direct web sites are shady...
I might of missed it, did you have to paint the the sides of the grill
yeah they come black. I bought the GM paint in a can
@@darthhemi1735 Thanks. I’m gonna do the same thing
Pretty cool back when I was young I did that way all the time. Not no more lol 😆
I take my time... I'll get it done in a few days..
Good information
Whoooooaaaaa
its happening... i got a spare ill just toss in real quick :)
So I take it everything you tried didn't bring it back. I think I'd check on a rebuild kit with all the upgraded parts and tweaks so you know where it's at. My RT only has 92k on it now and so far everything critical seems fine. Looks kinda like RnR a 727, done it enough times in the Dart back in the day.
well i have one that the guy said was running and driving. these are so easy to take in an out ill just take a couple hours and see how it goes :)
@@darthhemi1735 Hopefully it works well and if not check into the rebuild kits. Some are pretty spendy and some seem reasonable. They sell ready to go built and upgraded ones too but most of them are more than I paid for the RT. With the price of gas now I may start driving mom's old pt cruiser anyway.
Does anyone have an idea, after I've tried two sets ordered from two different vendors, why the driver's side DRL does not work? Is it possible that I received the only two non-functioning DRLs out of an otherwise nice assembly that looks great? There may be many vendors but the assemblies are from the same manufacturer.
not sure, yes all same Taiwan plant... I think they are sending you reboxed items... and the USA is full of bad headlights that they keep trying to resell. Order from Akkon
Mines was out when I pit them in and I noticed on other vehicles that the driver's side was out as well. I think it's a malfunction that company is having on DRL lights.
@@eclassauto901mine is still working so fingers crossed it stays that way
@@eclassauto901 Such a glaring oversight in an otherwise sharp looking and functional set of lights. I typically choose to put the parking lights on when I'm driving. That gets around the DRL being illuminated and it doesn't look bad. The problem is that sometimes I forget to turn the parking light on. Turning them off isn't a problem because I get a reminder.
Where u get the grille?? I just bought a 08 a couple months ago same color
I think amazon, they are cheap
Hey I can’t find your exact grill can u send a link?
What is the center light for does it ever come on
the center lights are the daytime running lights the surround lights are parking and also on with headlights
I tried two sets and the driver's side DRL does not work with either. I'm attempting to troubleshoot the problem.
@@TralfazConstruction yeah I was reading your lucky if they work
@@darthhemi1735 I got that impression too late and I thought, 'Well, I'll just be lucky.' I have to disassemble the driver's side and have a look to see if any connectors either deflected out of the way or perhaps were pushed out of their socket. I read comments on earlier postings, primarily Amazon, about the individual contact prongs being pushed backwards as the connection is made. Everything else works well. My temporary workaround is to switch-on the parking lights which activates the outer square of the lighting system. Headlight work fine, high and low beam.
Question. Where did you find those headlights in chrome? I can’t seem to find them. Thank you in advance
they are on Amazon. Akkon
@@darthhemi1735 There not shipped abs sold by Amazon though. That could be problematic if the headlights come defective or if they start acting up. They also seem to only have the headlights in black at the moment.
Does this work with the factory platinum escalade headlights version?
the grill?
No they do not and why change Plat. lights for these cheaper ones when Plat. looks better and cost 3x more?
Can the daytime running bulbs be replaced or its a whole new light?
if your using factory lights, yes you can swap out LED... they are special order though from the web, you wont find them instore. Since these arent flashers you wont have fast flash either.
@@darthhemi1735 Ok.. wanted to change the color on the daytime.. Thanks
Lol everything is hard
Tried led bulbs in sisters old 300M and they were way too blue in actuality and you didn't get much throw down the road. 6 months later the led segments overheated and went half brightness and just eventually completely shut off. Pretty pissed off considering how hard it is to swap bulbs in a first gen 300. Hopefully they have perfected the led lights today. When I put them in they looked super white and bright but 6k color temp was really blue on the road. I don't think they make 5k or 4500k yet. Hope they work OK for you. My Neon I put Depot projector headlights in and they were a huge upgrade in lighting performance. I did keep the old headlights and when it finally died I swapped the old ones back in and kept the new battery and sent it down the road. The headlights are discontinued and are worth more than the car was at that point.
Yeah I hope the LED addons last. This is a Taiwan headlights/taillights and custom. I actually reused the factory Xenon bulbs but the LED is the running and daytime lights. I wanted to upgrade the look and replace the bad stuff(yellowed glazing head lights). I spent a little extra on taillights and grill.
@@darthhemi1735 I think in that case your going to be fine then. You're not actually running led headlight bulbs and the hid or xenon bulbs should be way better anyway as long as the projector housing is made right. I put old School Hella Euro spec headlights in my Dart years ago after seeing how well they worked in my friends 79 Toyota pickup. Best lighting it ever had. Eventually I put 130/80 bulbs in them and never got in trouble because new cars had hid about then.
Grabbing my Popcorn 🍿
Lol it's a long one .
I'm excited to see it all come together
Yeah its all done, everything fixed and running great... i spent probably 3k fixing it all up :) Now if it got better gas mileage :) Its like driving a house around town
No idea what your point was.
its in the title man... Hellcat (AD) lifters vs the others...
I had an MDS lifter cease and ate through the cam on a 2015 GC SRT with 124000 miles on it. The lifters were the AA variant. Switched to enginetech non mds lifters. Idle oil pressure is 2.1 bar instead of 2.2 previously.
i dont know how it operates t higher rpm... it will just splash more down on the cam but is that good? if its losing pressure in that area its not pushing oil where it should be, namely up to the top of the lifter. How did you have AA lifters? they weren't making them in 15
@@darthhemi1735 Oil pressure sits at 3.8 bar when doing 80mph. So I think the pressure is no issue. As per the lifters being AA variant, I assure you those were the ones I have. Might be an export thing? I am overseas after all.
@@malamri424 interesting, They might be a overseas part number. AA was phased out in 2008. I would think the oil pressure still remains high enough to push out the top but I would be concerned, its why i wouldn't run them. They are monkeying around with stuff they shouldn't imho. Did they test like Chrysler tested? they obviously didnt
I have melling in mine they sound like shit. They claim they get them form same manufacturer as fsctory. German I believe
they are OEM, melling makes em, what oil and filter are you using?
I’ve still seen issues with all lifters
yes roller lifters can all have issues, GM even aftermarket
AD lifters are Mopar 4th revision lifters installed to Gen 3 Hemi from around 2018 onwards. Same lifters fitted to HC. No different lifter designation for Hellcat Hemi. All same lifter. Reason for bigger roller bearings fitted to AC and AD lifters was to address early life failure needle bearings in Roller. gen 3 Hemi upto 2015 would likely have lifter roller failure early, and damage to cam lobe resulting in misfire.
wrong wrong and wrong.... 2016 cars and up got the AD lifters... you obviously dont know what an Eagle engine is, thats why they put in bigger needle bearings to handle the lift...
@@darthhemi1735 2016 production used larger needle bearings that’s for sure, but MOPAR switched suppliers 2018. Not sure if 2016/17 lifters had metallurgy or ongoing quality issue for switch.
@@darthhemi1735 get your facts straight. Lifters superceded many times. AD lifters were first used in trucks/SUV's in factory production beginning in January of 2019. Cars got them in March of 2019. They became available for order as service replacements for ALL 2005 - 2018 3G Hemi V8 engines beginning in July of 2019. Melling was the OEM vendor for lifters in 2016 - 2018. The new AD lifters are not made by Melling.
@@UnionThugg lol you have no clue, AD lifters have been out forever dude... I bought AD lifters in 17 fool... get your facts straight... So the factory in Germany making the lifters was sold? unless FCA is selling lifters to Melling to rebrand :)
WHERE DO YOU FIND HELLCAT LIFTERS FOR 80.00!?!??? I can only find HELLCAT Lifters for 500.00 a set!
well first of all go to summit. they are only 100$ a set. I actually got my full set for 200$ and they are melling hellcats
I work in this industry and these are definitely not Enginetech lifters and Melling no longer makes hemi lifters at all. Look at the markings on the body of the lifter and you can tell they are not the Enginetech or Melling.
Melling makes the OEM lifters... or are you saying there's another German factory making hellcat lifters? :) with the same exact markings
@@darthhemi1735 Melling is made in the USA, based in Michigan. The only markings I see on your lifters seem to be a MOPAR number.
787AA98778 can you find out which lifter is this
got a picture? That's making no hits.
