Union Pacific Big Boy #4014 in Northern California ~ UP Westward Bound Tour
Union Pacific’s famous Big Boy #4014 has finally made its way through California! This video shows the entire journey (more or less) through California, Oroville to Roseville and then from Roseville to Auburn, after this it went to Sparks NV
-
All of this footage was taken by my mother and I who chased 4014 for 3 days, she’s just a big of fan of 4014 as I am, it was amazing seeing this locomotive with her
-
Lemme know what y’all think of these shots!

Pacing Big Boy | UP 4014 Pacing through the California WP Route / UP Westbound tour
Просмотров 373Месяц назад
UP 4014 came through California for the first time under his own power on this July afternoon. Being a California native I had to be there to see that, so I flew out from Oklahoma and paced big boy through areas I’ve seen my entire life - This was between Yuba city and Sacramento, there was a (very) rough little road by the water and for about 10 miles we managed to pace 4014, the camera shook ...
Western Pacific 165 | First runs after Restoration (4014 Celebration event / WPRM)
Просмотров 19 тыс.Месяц назад
165’s restoration has FINALLY been completed at the WPRM! Just days before big boy #4014 came rolling into Portola, steam crews put the finishing touches on WP #165 - 165 has been under restoration for nearly 2 decades at this point and saw operation in mid - late 2022, these operations were hauled to complete the restoration and address leaks / problems with the engine - Today, July 10th 2024,...
Pacing a BNSF “Warbonnet” #766 By Complete Accident
Просмотров 1972 месяца назад
Cool little catch yesterday my friend and I had on the BNSF Fort Worth Sub going up near Justin, TX - We were sitting by alliance yard and all of a sudden saw a triple header lead by a bonnet, bonnets leading aren’t something we see everyday, so of course we tried to catch it, about 3 miles up the road we were doing the same speed as the train just by the speed limit of the road, worked out gre...
Pacing CP 2816 “The Empress” - CPKC Final Spike Tour: Shreveport, LA 🚂
Просмотров 1,5 тыс.3 месяца назад
Managed to somewhat accidentally pace CPKC (CP) 2816 south of Shreveport for about a half mile, this was a stroke of pure luck, we caught her twice before deciding to call it a day due to time constraints and our route home took us by the tracks! We managed to catch up to 2816 pretty fast and I put my camera out the window to get arguably my best catch ever - 1st shot: CP 2816 Pacing shot 2nd s...

Michael, thank you for posting the video of 165. When it was at the Alameda County fairgrounds, I did some painting on it. I had nothing to do with the infamous blue paint that was applied after my time there. Over the years, I also made some small donations to the project. Great to see the results of the restoration.

I miss the caboose, I really miss the guys in the Caboose! Of course I was a little kid the last time I saw a caboose go by. At 4:00 we would run to the end of the block to watch the train go by. The guys in the Caboose would always toot the air whistle for us! That's a big deal at 6 years old!

The footage is super grainy due to the fact that the railroad police were blocking the tracks, this video is taken from a hill about 300 feet from the front of the locomotive, this is as close as anyone could get, the locomotive will have scars on the front pilot and a dent in the cylinder until it returns to Cheyenne
