Beginner Bikepacking | Shasta Dam | CA
This was a different kind of trip. We took three kids-from my cousin's extended family-on their first ever bikepacking adventure. The Shasta Dam Overnighter goes from Redding, California out to Shasta Campground (near Chappie-Shasta OHV Area) via the Sacramento River Rail Trail.
We rode, or sometimes walked our bikes, a total of nearly 40 miles over 2 days. The kids did great and still had energy for more. It was a rad experience that I’m so glad we were able to make happen. Special thanks to Dominic Zuckswert for taking photos and Joe Tona for coordinating the ride!
