1. Cupholders came from factory, albeit a bit akward positioning. You can also exchange the ashtray to for example 3d-printed cupholder(this is what I use and it works well). 2. Yes, the enginebay is stuffed, and I have the turbo version... But if you want to own one of these cars, you have to learn how everything works and how to disassemble the necessary components to do what you need to do. When you have learned that it is not really that big of a problem. And you will learn that owning one of these cars.. 3. Thats up to your preference, this car is meant to be VR4 4. A lot of basic maintenace parts can be still found(e.g 3sx and RockAuto) and also from other mitsubishi models(e.g. Pajero), and there is a thriving community around 3000GT and Stealth with a lot of remanufacturing/repairing of more complicated parts. Owning and maintaining these cars is not cheap, so that is what you have to take into account when deciding buying one of these. 5. Thats how it just is, SL is more reliable but yeah TwinTurbo model is the way to go usually Know what you are getting into before buying 3000GT/Stealth, and if you know how to treat them they give you the best time ever

I loved my father's 90s Mitsubishi Diamante but once he gave it to me and my brother for high school but it was hell working on too. There is NO reason not to own a VR4. If you are going to own a 3000GT you already know it's going to be a bitch to work on and own.

I have an 88 supercharged Mr2 and the motor started knocking and find any rebuild options is brutal since the engine is pretty uncommon and old. Engine swap is my best option but its costly and mid engine so working on them is a different beast. Just been sitting on it for awhile at this point, wish i knew more what i was getting into in terms of oem parts scarcity when getting into it i feel your frustration haha love your 3k one of my favorite cars visually ever

look up Parts Geek LLC, doesnt have every single oem parts but has more than you could find anywhere else. car guy to car guy, I have a 05 civic ex and there a very very little aftermarket parts for it but parts geek helps me keep the turdbox on the road.

To resolve the cupholder, use a 3D printed ash tray to cupholder conversion.

I agree to all 5, I have the 99 so 99 parts as you know are even more rare. They should of never made our cars in the 3 platforms. Should of had a base and the vr4 but at least make the vr4 stand out. The SL like we have got the nicer wheels so they looked the same. I boosted mine so even with an lsd it just burns the tires off instead of hooking and going. A rwd model would of been sweet
