Wayyyyy toooo big
Where can I buy this?
Hi!! I saw your comment on wet food machine and wonder if you'd like the idea of a machine that grinds freeze-dried food and automatically adds water? Just like a coffee machine, so we can be freed from the manual work of preparing wet food.
Will smell awful in 3 hours. good ID.
Looks amazing! Real shame they couldn't get funding.
Only issue I see is my cat food may not shake out easily as it’s thick and a bit gummy. I will have to get a looser brand when I need it. Hopefully you’ll consider partnering with some reliable pet food companies. If so please make sure its a company that has excellent quality ingredients as well as limited ingredient options.

I need this. Was just online trying to figure out how to feed my cat canned food for a week. Hope this comes out soon.

i love it but could see so many things going wrong. as a potential customer it did not feel 100% safe to me to leave for pets all alone
While this looks cool, it strikes me as over complicated. What i and many other cat owners are looking for. is a simple machine that can open those vacuum sealed cardboard wet food containers and just drop the food out on a plate. Less moving parts the better as it's less complicated and less expensive.
Is this some sort of april fools joke?
This would’ve been perfect, I hope someone makes this or something like it soon 😩
Hello, are there any updates on when this will be launched??
I’m crying
Who would make an automatic can feeder without making proprietary canned food for for it. The machine would work better for the proprietary can design and you get recurring food sales.
This is brilliant. <3
What a beautiful invention! I can only imagine the $$$$$.
THESE ARE OVER $3,000
Nah these never got made. Never made it past crowdfunding.
Why did this concept never come to fruition???
They tried to crowdfund it and never hit their first goal unfortunately.
Because it's being faked. Human controlling that arm like an animatronic in a movie. Would be a cool device though!
LOL! Only $2,000,000.00.
I cook for my cat's. I don't know any decent cat food that comes in a tin and I probably wouldn't make my pole animals eat it anyway. I don't see much use for this moreover, half the fun of having stunning beautiful ball of fluff or in my case 5 balls of fluff I would much rather feed my animals directly don't be lazy and do it this way do this everyday?
Must have been a dud because I cant find it anywhere. Probably too expensive or a scam.
They were going through a redesign to make it less expensive, approx. $800 as it was originally over $3k. However, COVID messed with their launch, I think it was supposed to be released in late 2020 but they probably ran out of funds for working on it
@@kirakelley552 I would have wanted one...
@@kirakelley552 yeah the crowdfunding dried up/failed. I didn’t even think they made it past their first goal.
yo this is sooo cool! i dont need any of the features past the voice command i would definitely pay $1300 but not $3600 =(
re: wet food solution how would you like the idea of a machine that grinds freeze-dried food, and adds water automatically? just like a coffee machine, so we can be freed from the manual work of doing wet food.
PLEASE, we need this :(
How much is this? Where’s this get
Too bad you don't feed a cat a whole can
Please bring this to the market. We need it
Make one that’s $300 and you will sell them
When is this available and how much does it cost?
$4000 and it'll never be available because it never got funded on kickstarter due to it costing way too much. It died it 2017 and likely will not be making a come back.
This is awesome! Where to buy it?
I need this ugh but where could I get it
wtf thats gold..good for people that love pets and traveling .
The problem is that there are just not a lot of options out there. One of the offerings is the Catmate C500 and other models that offer a rotating, opening of food compartments or a single compartment food dispenser. I have 2 of the C500s. But, I’ve never needed to use them. I bought them in the event I suddenly had to travel. Last year I had an overnight business trip during the winter so, it was very easy to just leave some opened cans of cat food, some which had been frozen, to thaw on their own. I left at least a months worth of dry food as, if I died on my trip, my 2 cats wouldn’t be discovered for awhile since I don’t have family. The problem I have with these, other than the severe limitation on number of feedings, is that I’m terrified about their reliability and lack of connectivity. If the mechanism got kinked up or the battery didn’t last, I wouldn’t even be made aware that my pets are going hungry, while I’m on some business trip that might actually amount to mostly nothing, as last year’s actually did. In addition to that, some of these are advertised or written about as “refrigerated”. Seriously??? Refrigeration does not mean an ice pack that will melt in the time it takes you to get in a plane! Particularly during Summer. That’s just nuts! If you even went away for 3-4 days, you’d likely come home to a hungry, starving or even dead pet and spoiled food with maggots! Yeah, no thanks! You could board your pets, have someone come in or take them with you but, travel is enough of a hassle, a pet death would “alter” your relationship with your job and giving some stranger the key? Fck no!
I just picked up a PetLibro Polar. FINALL and it didn’t cost $3-4K!!! It is actually refrigerated, although I assume, by a Peltier chip. Wet food, which could probably cover both of my cats, for 3 days, provided one doesn’t overeat. 3 days is not enough, if you’re gone for longer than 1 weekend. But, it’s better than the nothing that’s been on the market, for 20+ years. I “think” it is supposed to cool to 43 degrees. “Almost” sufficient as, your human refrigerator shouldn’t be higher than 38 degrees, to prevent bacteria growth. Like your refrigerator, this is also subject to ambient temperature also. But, again, better than nothing. But, by October, hopefully, the BistroCat feeder will be released. You can still try to get introductory pricing also. This has 16 places for food that comes sealed in what probably isn’t like a pudding cup. The key here? The food doesn’t have to be refrigerated. So, I’d guess, whatever the temperature, you’re good. The difference here is that you must order the food pods, from the manufacturer so, stick up before your journey. Other than that, this might be the better option, for some. I’m glad these things are finally hitting the market. Many pet lives have passed, while waiting. Keep in mind tThese are not only good for vacations. If you don’t like the idea of a stranger having the key to your place, coming in to feed your cats, your cats not liking strangers, the cost, the cat possibly escaping.m, these are wonderful. But, it is also great, if you need to be away, to care for a relative or for a medical procedure. If you know no one who is willing to feed your cats, even in that situation, multi day connected wet food feeders are great, as long as you have web connectivity.
Idea stolen straight from Back To The Future
I have five cats 🐈😭 have any for multiple cats great idea
I thought it was great until I saw how big it was in comparison to a full grown person... it's like the size of a mini fridge!
I believe a new version is being worked on by the same team which will be much smaller and cheaper.
I love it and want one!
It's huge!
Wow.. if you're to lazy to feed your pet, or to put it up in a pet hotel when you leave town, just don't have an animal live with you, you don't deserve to have one..
Pet hotels aren’t always an option for cats. I have a highly stressed out cat that has IBD and would stop eating if she had to stay in another environment other than her home. If an emergency came up such as when my Mother was in ICU out of town and I had to be with my Mother, this Pawbot would have helped me spend more time with my Mom before she passed away on 9/14/18. Because I didn’t have this option, I had to drive 8 hours each day I wanted to go see her in the hospital. So, not too lazy to feed my pets btw and probably a much better pet parent than most people!
Je kunt ook gewoon je kat wegdoen.
I can think of so many ways this design could be improved upon. I'm curious where the bowl goes when the pet is finished eating for starters. Honestly, though, we should be feeding our pets ourselves. It's part of the bonding process. It's how we can keep track of exactly how much our pets are eating. Why have pets if you can't feed them, pick up after them, or play with them?
Harold Ivan speaking for myself, I’m not under the impression that most people would buy it for everyday use, although some might. What would likely initiate this purchase is being stuck in traveling for work or for being in the hospital. That sort of thing. Many people live alone with pets and many more might in the future. Not everyone feels comfortable having someone come in, boarding their pet or traveling with them. I, for one, rarely travel, and had to suddenly travel early last year. It was only an overnight trip, where I could leave wet food and had even frozen some cans to thaw on their own. But, it would have been an absolute nightmare if I had to trace for several days as, I’d have had to bring them with me since, there’s no one else to feed them and they have not been acclimated to eat dry food only.
I take it you didn't watch the video all the way through because it showed exactly where the bowl goes after the pet is finished eating.
I would buy it for emergency use and vacations but really for vacations I would resort to feeding dry food in an auto gravity feeder.
Cool product! I feel this machine is mainly completed by engineers. From a designer's perceptive, there are so many things can be improved.
This is an amazing idea and an awesome product. I like the whole the process and the technology. Opening the can, pouring into the bowl, cleaning and collecting the bowl are great. I'd like to share some thoughts.
I understand everything is done by the robotic arm. But why not design a new can opener. So you can stack the cans under the opener. Maybe the new opener you designed can open the can from the bottom. The food can directly goes to the bowl which is placed under the can. Then the only thing that robotic arm needs to do is to grab the bowl, push it out and take the bowl back when finish. And we can remove the wash bucket in the machine. Users can worry less about the bacteria. Your company can lower your cost and make it more reliable.
Absolutely. The first thing that shocked me was that it didn’t just use a magnet to take the lid off. Seems inefficient even if only slightly
@@kevink7529 When it comes to new invention, the whole idea is to brainstorm and think outside the box (not literally in this case, and no pun intended).
@@kristynkazumi majority of these cans are made of nonmagnetic material (aluminum) to avoid over-viewed complications in manufacturing and warehouse storage. i'm a senior engineer student and we're tasked with this actual design project this year. hopefully these videos can give us a good idea of do's and don't's
Another question, what if I want to feed 5.5 oz in am and 3 oz in pm? Will the robot recognize different can sizes or it grabs whatever can in standing there?
Hi Summer, these are settings you can choose from either your phone or the LCD display on the unit. Cheers, PawBot Team.
Yes, I'm wondering, how does the robot know when the cat food dish is empty vs a cat will come back in 1-2 hours to finish it. My cats sometimes finish food 4-5 hours later in winter.
Hi Summer, There is a weight sensor under the bowl which is checking the weight of the bowl about every minute, so PawBot knows when the bowl is empty. Thanks for checking in!
Brilliant! But why not just use the cans as bowls? This would save a step. There are can-openers that roll the rim to eliminate sharp edges.
$3,000 dollars? Wowza. I thought my litter robot was expensive...
July 2019 should be under $500 according to their website
Geewizz.. I'll just pay the neighbor to come over and feed the cat
As soon as I saw the robot arm I knew it was going to be above triple digits
I, for one, welcome our new robotic overlords
Great for those of us who travel a lot or like me, are an on call neurosurgeon and am not on a set schedule to be there at regular intervals. Although, I do have a live in housekeeper, so my dogs are never alone.

is this real and how loud is it
Just buy mice. They are cheaper than cat food. Then get a machine that dispenses them into the room, one at a time. Cats love it!
Hilarious!
Tom thx What a sick person you must be.
