    The problem with all these electronic motors is salt water. Even the best setups I have seen end up getting corrosion in the connectors, causing failure and cabling to corrode from the inside out.

      Hello ! Agreed, this is why we removed all subsea connections. Power cables are connected inside the watertight controller located onboard (through cable glands)

    Interesting engineering but it just seems way too complicated, what problem are you trying to overcome that a simpler (i.e. non-adjusting) design is unable to?

      sorry for the late answer. We were try to get the few more % efficiency. But commercial models are fixed bladed.

      agreed. We're not trying to go planning but pushing very hard for heavy loads. Planning is still drinking to much energy for electric solutions.

      Sorry for late answer. 6kW for high thrust will give you 110kgf static push, and bring a 3t boat at 6kts.

    Have you tried using Axial Flux motors? High torque, higher RPM. Have you tried placing a lateral wing blade in front of the propellers to increase the pressure before the propeller?

      Sorry for the late answer. Motor inside is hybrid, half way to axial flux. We didn't make static blades yet, because the rubish could get stuck between static and dynamic blades. But we want to work on this as an option to get even higher efficiency. good point!

      @@ThexBorg thanks ! Definitely frameless ! Never seen fish issues (I guess they can't testify anymore). Dense debris can get in the blades but usually don't get stuck since there is no fixed part to get tightly entangled onto.

      @@HyGeneration Do you get high RPM? How many phases are in your motors? Koenigsegg use 6 phase motor for their electric motor for high speed and torque. Maybe something you can use to get higher speed and torque?

      @@ThexBorg You're really aware! only 3 phases on RIM6, but 6phases on RIM14 to reach 14kW. our RIMs run around 1000 -1100 rpm max.

      Just looked it up, $6,990 charger for 8HP equiv, battery and controller then another $780 euro for charger. The equiv 8HP gas setup is $2,400 USD….ah cool technology but no thanks

    is the only advantage over a conventional propeller on say a Torqeedo just that the prop guard is built in? is there a static thrust advantage per KW power? you can buy a prop guard for Torqeedo motors

    Every one who try electric outboard like me know they rubbish! Limited time at les u take 5 battery's with u over 50kg and take space . Petrol will still be better for probably another 20 years before they find out how extend range and minimise the battery plus more power.

    IN CASE OF BIG PIECES OF TREES GOING THROUGH THE MOTOR, IT WOULD BE STUCKED OR WOULD BREAKE THE MOTOR. NICE PROJECT, BRILIANT, BUT IT IS NOT FOR ALL KIND OF PLACES.
