If you miss, just change form. Her ult has a faster CD than her S2. First practice skillshotting with her elf form S2. You don't always have to follow up your own S2 with fancy freestyle dash. Often times the 2s stun is enough for your friends to kill the enemy or buy them time to take turtle. After you're comfortable with your S2 hit rate, you can start practicing how to dive. More important than your dash combo is your map awareness. Don't dive if you think someone is waiting in the bush. All in all, Selena is a greater value than the sum of her forms. But don't let that blind you from the fact that each form is perfectly usable on their own. You can spend the entire game in elf form just spamming traps and stuns, or stay in abyss form just dashing around (her abyss skills deal a lot of damage with items even on unmarked enemies) and she still can contribute. Look for opportunity, but don't let opportunities limit you.
